Check out 'Possessive Posion' Rule. It says: Possessive pronoun refers back to possessive noun. Subject and object pronouns may NOT refer back to possessive noun. Apparently the correct sentence is: 1. Jose's room is so messy that his mother calls Jose a pig. 'his' being a posse...

I am not too sure how good this rule is. The suggested 'may NOT' stated in the rule is quite ambigouos.

Incorrect : 3,4
3. dad said he wanted to be the first photographer in the home town. 4. He wanted to develop colour prints and so he did.

@omar.. offered me to do X... and offered to donate me X to Y...there shud be only one to after offered... and also later would mean that he offered to donate the sum to the same person who called and not to the fund...

My take 1. in option 4 fund is used 2 times. is it deliberately or by mistake? if it is deliberately used than it is option 4.otherwise 5. 2. which is used for non-living things while that is used for living things hence that should be used here.hence option 1.

My take 1. in option 4 fund is used 2 times. is it deliberately or by mistake? if it is deliberately used than it is option 4.otherwise 5. 2. which is used for non-living things while that is used for living things hence that should be used here.hence option 1.
