This is a thread dedicated entirely to the problems faced by CAT Aspirants solving Nishit Sinha's Quant and LA/DI Book.

Ahuramazda i have just started preparing for CAT and simultaneously working on my start-up as well. two questions i have)
Do they count start-up as experience as that is the only thing i have been doing since i completed my graduation and few internships ( international)
2) i know this question has been asked a zillion times here, but i haven't find a concrete answer yet :::: what is THE ideal set of books/ study material/ coaching i should go with??

desperately need your reviews on BYJU, nishit sinha or arun sharma, CL or time study material, and the best book for LRDI.

whats the difference between arun sharma and

Nishit Sinha book i already have been doing arun sharma and able to solve most of level 1 & 2 questions but somehow i am weak in some areas like permutations logs inequalities ie i need to strengthen my basics more so should i refer Nishit Sinha for this ??? if not then which other books can clear basics

Time taken by Shramjivi=320 min
Time taken by Magadh=288 min
Let total distance= D
so, speed of shramjivi Vs=D/320
speed of magadh Vm=D/288
Magadh starts 22 min before Shramjivi.
So, distance covered by magadh in this duration = 22*D/288
Now let after 't' min both the trains ...

The 22nd problem,
after disc, SP = 0.9MP
MP = SP/0.9
1.17CP = 0.9MP = SP
MP = 1.17CP/.9
Profit% =( (MP-CP)/CP)*100
= 30 %(MP = 1.17CP/0.9):)

Hi,
The 4th problem,
CP = 375;
SP=0.8*375, as it is sold at a loss of 20%.
CP as % of its SP = (375 / (0.8*375))*100 = 125%

actually i guess i did a mistake in step:
9.48 am + 2hrs 42 mins -> 12.54 am
it shud b 12.30 am
so ur approach is also right.
do u hav the actual answer of this question?

distance left = (133/3)
therefore time when they will meet = (133/(3*(10+9)))
where 10+9 = relative speed
they will meet after 2 hrs 20 mins after shramjivi starts off
therefore at 12:30
10:10 + 2hrs 20 mins...Am I correct plzz tell

According to me,
Speed of magadh = 10 km/hr
Speed of shramjivi = 9 Km/hr
Therefore total distance already travelled by magadh = 10 * 11/30 = 11/3
Distance left = 48 - (11/3)

The circumference of circle is 22 units
speeds A = 4 units/min
B = 7 units/min
so, if A travels x units before meeting,
(x/4) = (22-x)/7
x = 8
so they will meet after 2mins, and rest for half min
now there speeds get doubled, so now they will meet at hal...

ok got it...because time taken = 16/3 and 24/5 hrs. So for easier calculations LCM of 16 and 24

my take:
Let the distance between Patna & New Delhi be 48 km (LCM of 16 and 24 )
the time taken by Shramjeevi to reach New Delhi : 5 hrs 20 mins
the time taken by Magadh to reach Patna : 4 hrs 48 mins
so speed of Shramjeevi = 48 / (5+(20/60)) = 9 km/hr
speed of Magadh = 48 ...

just a bit of off topic:
but i think Quantum cat by s.k.verma is a far better book compared to the other quant books available in the market.
p.s.-my personal opinion having gone through both arun sharma and nishit sinha.
