vista mind material is not good as time

After watching this thread for good time, hoping that discussions would turn out to be useful for people at one point or othe ther, only one thing can be concluded that this thread is not going anywhere except some unnecessary debate.

Please use personal messengers to get into such debate which is not of greater benefits to people out here.

Also, from hereon, anyone foundpromoting any coaching institute in the name of sharing information shall be summarily banned as well.

Help people but do not promote unnecessarily.

Must be banned. They have made a mockery of the regulations. This conversation between them could very well have happened in the private domain.

From all these above posts i can only find one is hellbent on proving why time is better and another is countering why vista mind is good.
And by the talk of theirs i think both are faculties of respective intsitutes,i seriously wonder are the mods sleeping.Both should be banned for few days .

That we are faculty in the respective institutes is not an inference you have drawn

It is a fact we have stated in the posts

Squib and I are very good friends . So don't get the wrong idea from the discussion above.

I feel that as long as we disclose our vested interest in the debate we can bring a perspective to the discussion which others might not be able to.

We are both passionate about the students we mentor and the conflict arises from the fact that we both feel we made the right choice!

Time will tell!

Hey ! No intention of fighting Squib :grin:. You know that I look upon you as a younger brother ( not to mention the fact that my younger brother actually has the same name!)

Now let's look at the issues that you bring up.

1. Students studying at both centres! Awesome! If students are putting in more hours of study - as a faculty member I am actually thrilled! At the end of the day I want these students to do well and if this turn of events has lead to their putting in more hard work !! Terrific!

2 . (If they had so much faith in TIME...) Let me invert that situation .. The fact that any of these existing students are continuing to attend classes at VM is attributable to 2 causes

a. The students have affection for the teachers that they have studied under for the last 10 months and VM is trying to.. in simple words.. EXPLOIT that affection.

b. There is a natural inertia among students where they prefer to not disturb the status quo

3. ( how that number was achieved ....) Compared to the disinformation spread by VM we have actually been very mild in our approach ...All we have told the students is that ... Please dont listen to people at VM talking nonsense about lack of infrastructure and faculty. We already have both in place. Infrastructure you can check out by visiting the centres and Faculty by attending the classes .. and of course ... you need to ensure that you continue with your AIMCATS without interruption..

4. Not complacent. We will not be complacent even after ALL the students have come back to us and let me tell you ..that is going to happen sooner than later.

At the end of the day VM gave students of CAT 12 a raw deal. The students enrolled with a brand called TIME. Paid the fees for the quality of education that it stands for and suddenly you turn around and say Sorry Ji... We are no longer TIME!! We are VM..

Just think you join IIM A and then the senior faculty and admin of IIM A decides that they want to open an insti IIM - VM . Do you think any student is going to stick to the new insti..??

All these are issues I have been pondering over the last few weeks.. and I am not just saying this stuff as a member of the TIME team..

I know personally how much effort students put into the process and and what expectations and faith they have from faculty members..

The concept of VM could not have mushroomed overnight which means that at some point of time the top management at VM must have been enrolling students in TIME knowing fully well that they would try later to convert these students to VM.

5.( comparing instis ) - You will notice in all my posts that I have never pitched for either side. It is only when somebody tries to spam that I have stepped in on this thread. Obviously comparison is a subjective thing .. At the end of the day it will be up to the students to decide which group is serving their interests better.. and you cannot fool students in the long run.. they know who is taking them for a ride... The hard data I had to provide to counter your allegation about lack of feedback.. :sneaky:

1. even We at Vistamind want the studetns to do well..and if they want to study at both the centres,we dont have a problem with it..in fact we talked with each batch and asked them to go to TIME and try out your classes..(vishwaas na ho mere baat pe toh apne students sab se confirm kar lijyega..)

For your kind information...we are not spreading any such nonsense..please accuse karne se pehle...fact pata kar lijye pehle then say something..students have themselves visited the centres and if they are not satisfied with ur infra and faculty then VM ka ismein kya fault hai?!! And mein yaha pe koi rumour spread nahi kar raha u might have the infra n faculty..i m just telling u what the students have told us after visiting ur centres..

ap yeh bolte hain students logo ko..bt u are not doing enuf to ensure that the students give their exam without any interruption..u blocked all the students id..tell me is this the right approach to ensure that studetns visit ur centre..??.if u really wanted to verify the ids of the studnts..u could have called them n requested them to visit the centre and verify their ids...
chalo agar acpt bhi kar le k id block karna justified tha...there are still a few studetns who even after verifying their cards havent got their ids unblocked!! they cal up everyday..yet they dont get any response...
aisa service dege ap log toh kaha se expect karte hain k woh log aimcat without interupprtion de sakege!!!
4. IIM-VM and IIM-A ka comparision yaha pe i dont thnk apt hai..bcz eve nu knw very well k log mba kyu karte hain...maximum log toh money factor k liye hi mba karte hain..
VM n TIME mein difference hai bcz yaha k teachers matter karege...see material hazaar hai market hain..bt ache teacher kam hi hain..i mean teacher not only with good knowledge..bt teachers who can TEACH..and woh teacher jaha pe hi rahega..i thnk studnt ko wahi jana chahye..if they think TIME has better faculties..they are free to do their classes there..and if they wanna do classes at VM we dont have a problem at all. :)
and VM ka concept obviously overnite develop nahi hua hai...yeh internal issues ka baare mein shayad apko TIME mein sahi se nahi bataya hai..i gues apko shayad jaake unse ek baat karna chahya..apko pata chal jayega why we had to change from TIME to VM..so quickly.
5.Mein ne kabhi nahi kaha k feedback nahi milega if someone visits ur centres...hard data apka correct hosakta hai..aur mein toh chahta hi hu k sutdents jaake TIME-VM students se feedback le..jo log dono jaga class kiye hain woh log better feedback de sakege..

anyways..itna bolke aur argue karke phayeda nahi hai..jaise apne kaha the students are clever enuf to knw who is fooling them..so they can themselves decide who is better..TIME or VM..
aur hi bahut kuch bolna tha..bt nahi boluga..ek ek karke saare flaws bata diya toh sab ap log thik kar loge..

As part of tuhe TIME team we are rather proud of that number.. just as a VM faculty I am sure that that number has you and the VM Kolkata team worried.

Be careful about spelling and sms language. They tend to dent your CAT prep.

Me re-registered at Adyar too....got SMS today from TIME - class tomorrow morning

Guys do anybody know about the commencement of TIME classes at chennai-adyar? When I went to re-register they said it would commence by first week of June.. Would they start surely on first week itself? Do you guys know any other info?

Anyone having any clue about TIME Faculty at Indiranagar?

I am planning to join a weekend batch there.

I am told that they also have part time faculty and their full time faculty teach across all centres.

Will be great if someone can be of help in this regard.

As a content developer and as somebody who worked as an editor with Encyclopaedia Britannica - Let me tell you -- VERY DIFFICULT! :grin:

It is not easy to make all those VA options look equally right!

Also anyone can buy TIME content in the second hand market available at a very cheap rate.

VM Faculty + TIME Material = old TIME ( Sigh!! the more things change . the more they remain the same)

But I can never buy good faculty like buying material or books

No - you dont need to 'buy' good faculty. You just need to reward them with the right remuneration. Which is why I said this is a good time for teachers and students and this season may hopefully attract some fresh blood in the industry!!

Good Content is not a matter of days !!:)

Ask the poor Content Developers!!

A lot of thought / research goes behind developing content of the level of the CAT especially the Mocks ... again the user base of the Mocks is critical..

As far as Faculty for TIME is concerned the brand itself is likely to attract the best CAT coaching minds in the country who are not attached to Vista Mind . So - be prepared to see a lot of flux in the CAT prep teaching community .

Also do remember that TIME has the luxury of having having franchises all over the country.. and this might just be the right opportunity for young faculty members who are aggressive in attitude to to move from Tier B and Tier C towns to these Metro cities - like Chennai , Bangalore etc to take up the challenge..

So while TIME is focussed in attracting the best.
So VM will be focussing on retaining what it has.
