A bit sad to see some of them miss out also :(...Anyway i am sure they will make it some IIM or Harwards next year around!!!

the discussion of separate state arises only when there is unequal development of different part of the states its solution is not in the division of one state into so many parts but in providing equal resources to each and every part of that state so that they can develop equally and no questation of separation will ever rise.but still if it is important for the development of that city or town it should be done without any hesitation.

Very pertinent questions but no one seems to answer...no one can guide you here to any threads here..y don u try the small search button on PG Actually there individual threads dedicated to these questions as such!!! So try them for more inputs...

But basically from my 3 yrs experience i would say that you need to have good or even very good answers to these questions. These are questions that can make or break your selection.

As to Why MBA? Dont go on and say the usual stuff that u want a responsible position, wanna contribute meaningfully, leadership, contribute to growth of organization etc etc.. Those are some trite answers try to find out something different.. Try to find a solid answer..It may vary from person to person...end of the day you maybe looking @ a good profile/salary but that you cannot go and say in an interview... Go with some solid plans, make some clear cut answers to these questions... Think what you want and find out different things like entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship or even going back to the org where you are working currently in a better role and say why you wanna take it up and what its requirements are etc etc.. these are just examples...Have a solid one for yourself b4 u go! search PG thread for Why MBA and you will get lot of ideas...

Describe yourself: I guess Pallavi has answered it quiet beautiful in one of the recordings..check it out..I would advice have 2 answers one that completes in 1.5 mins another that goes to 3 mins. Also be prepared with something that is not in your CV/form for 1-2 min atleast.


why this college?: Again don repeat the same stuff as the mass says..Yes you need to point them out but you can also say that "In addition to the obvious good reasons like so and so I feel that these are some good reasons...Go onto point out some thing different like this one matches my freq..i didn't apply to all the coll but had done lot of analysis b4 selecting 3-4 coll whcih suits my b/w etc etc...Say how the coll will help you..have an idea abt the profiles being offered, the course being offered,content of the course etc so that you may base your answer based on this

why fin/mkting/etc?: This answer should be based on your choice..your liking and your sills..Though you may not be fully aware of the specializations till you get in a college i suggest you do some sort of a research b4 u come up with an answer... Again be convincing and if you feel you are yourselves not sure tell them the truth tat you know so and so ...looking forward to this because of these skills and so an so nature of work or reasons etc but i am open to the specs.. Would like to have a deeper insight before i select one...

why want 2 leave enginering & go for mba? Again come up with something yare.. i think these qns are answered umpteen number of times in various threads...Just search!!! Try to find out some relation b/w engg skills and MBA etc...say its just a continuation, career ladder, competition, preference in job circle, say abt techno managers, your like to work in related field etc etc...


Similarly they may also ask why not got for a job b4 doing MBA to freshers and to experienced guys they will ask why quitting and doing MBA?!!!

Most of the qns are answered in detail in some dedicated threads... pls pls read them before you go for PIs.. Its of utmost important that you have well prepared and well rehearsed...Spent atleast a couple of days preparing answers for such standard questions..It is worth it.. Have well defined goals(short and long term) strengths, weakness, examples of some qualities from your life, role models etc etc ..... You need to be prepared with all this before going for PIs unless you are a good orator or a very lucky person

Mind you the competition will be really tough in the top institutes so being prepared wont do any harm!!

here, people who work while sitting refers to people whose work doesn't involve any physical exercise. They need to stress their minds for the kind of work they do.
The people who work while standing up refers to people whose work involves a lot of physical exercise.

The reason for the difference in the money they get for their work is the due to difference in supply and demand. In country like india, we have lots of people who are ready to do the work which involves a lot of physcal exercise at very cheap rates. Also, special skills and education is normally not required to do the job. While those whose work involves more of mental exercise require some skills and education.

In india, only 3%(approx) of the total population pays tax i.e only 40 million people in india earn more than 1.6 lakhs or 1.9 lakhs per annum. And almost all of these people don't do any physical work. Their work involves using their minds more.

In developed countries, the difference between the money earned by these two categories of people is less coz of the high literacy rate, the people willing to do the physical work are less, so there are better wages for physical work

in such a case, i think you need to be clear and readable hence small and coherent paragraphs must be used...

They are giving case studies, which we will have to write upon in 2 pages and in half an hour

Puys need your input about how to go about it.

be honest out here ... if the call is between some college like IIMs and on the other hand colleges like N.M or sibm-p then without doubt go ahead and say IIMs...

and if they are asking between collges of same calibre like MDI / NITIE , then prefer the college u r giving interview for ....

cause even they aint stupid to believe u if u say that u will leave IIMS and join MDI or NITIE of any other college for that matter..

1. Yes Science has helped us going backwards in time and find out about the history of man, earth and universe.
   
2. Archeology & history uses a whole lot of scientific tools. The simple carbon dating is an example.
   
3. Similarly, history of the universe is being studied. We can actually see what was happening before millions of years by observing objects millions of light years away. This is possible due to the advances in astronomy.

I do not think this article carries any relevance here. For two reasons -one, the person who posted this did not think it was out of place not to provide some preamble or link her post with the topic of the thread.
Two, because the views expressed in this article are very biased. There are several authors who make reasoned and balanced arguments against the clauses of Section 498A. But this author seems to be riled at the changing social mores and his tone indicates frustration and an extreme viewpoint to an extent.

Why I posted the link was coz women empowerment is THE topic these days..thought this will at least make us see the other side of the topic. I know the language used indicates extreme views but then you can pick only views and present them better.

Pray, tell me, how is (technical) recruiting different from other recruiting? The basic function is still recruiting.

Recruiting is one of the functions of the HR department, be it recruitment for IT sector or for manufacturing or any other sector. You experience will definitely count. If you are able to show in the interview your competence in your field then you stand a good chance of getting good marks in the interview. Thanks and best of luck.

A case study is similar to a normal GD, in which u analyse the case given to u, which may/may not match the real world scenario....

This year IMT has introduced a new parameter of testing in their Post-CAT process..
Now ,there's no GD but a new written "Situation Analysis" thing.

My PI was on today, 23rd march 08:30am...

initially there was a document verification process..for which we were seated in crunching hot Sun in a small piece of garden...
Then we were asked to move to a hall for a 'Short test'... when entered and seated..we were given a shett consisting of a question - which was actually a practical situation.. followed by the fromat for Situation Analysis.. We were strictly told that u had to write only to the prescribed format within the time llimit of 30 mins and word limit was also there for every paragraph..

So i guess we should keep ourselves updated on this as well..
