can anyone provide me data as to how many jobs were created in nda regime and upa regime ????data must be authentic and not from a blog -- a newspaper report or a govt office website would be preferred
about the highlighted part:- bhai this is what i meant ............. if i deposit 100, 23 goes to RBI... though i was completely wrong in interpreting this as a security... i thought of this 23 as a security deposit against my 100 which i have deposited with the bank... Thank you.
it is calculated as a percentage of ndtl which is nothing but the deposit of public in the form of saving, current and fixed deposit..all the banks usually these days maintain well above the required slr bcoz demand of loans is not high and also slr is a safe avenue for banks to invest...whereas r...
so slr is applicable on total that bank has....
i had this misunderstanding ki if i deposit 100 bucks a part of it is secured wid RBI ... in case the bank faces lehman syndrome ...
ok thanks...
but how is it calculated.. and in which case is it used...
why it is not so well discusse...

bhai agar bank ke pas 100 rs hai to 23 rs bank ko govt securities me rakhna padta hai...govt securities means govt bonds...usme u get around 9 % yield whereas if u give loan u can easily earn 13-14% so it affects the profatibilty of banks....but it is a toll of monetary policy of rbi jisse ye liq...
buddy slr is that percentage of net demand and time liabilities(ndtl) which a bank has to keep in govt securities...by this govt finances its expenditure..
the amount i keep wid any bank.......... a part of it is kept wid RBI as a minimum secured sum... 23 rs out of each 100 rs....
i may be horribly wrong in this... but this is my understanding on SLR..
plzz clarify..

Your deposits? :)What is your understanding of SLR?
Please help....
How is SLR decided.....
and why only 23%.......... i would be happier if at least 50% of my deposits are secured with RBI??

Why are govt securities considered as fixed-return?
If it is THE GOVT. who is borrowing, surely the scale and magnitude of the entire process is HUGE and the risk scenario is terribly high? Then why don't the returns match the risk? Why...

Really?I liked "Too big to fail" when I first saw it. Entertaining, great performances, and what I thought was a great explanation of the 2008 economic crisis. Then I watched the documentary "Inside Job" and learned the truth. Hank Paulson was not a hero. He started the house on fire to collect ...

Go through my ping.
Yes. But for India it's not a good idea. Oil is a major import and increasing costs will lead to even more inflation.
1
@ankita14 :So for exporting, devalution is better right??
Because devaluation makes exports more appealing to foreigners and imports more expensive, strategy extensively used by China, and Japan seems to be wanting to do the same. For example 50rs to 1 dollar changed to 55 Rs to 1dollar, Americans can buy 55rs worth of stuff in the latter case while pa...

disinvestment in psu will reduce the shareholding of government and voting power of private sector will increase. hence workers along with their union are against it...
@VijayRawat @sanjaysurana90 thanx buddy.....
@suck : Hi.. increase in interest rates actually sucks up liquidity from the market, it does not result in money flow to the market. when interest rate is increased, it becomes expensive to borrow money, and also encourage people to save more cos they ll be getting more returns from their savings...
Increase in interest rate doesn't lead the money to flow from bank to market, it slows down the flow of money from bank to market (Read the PDF again).
How it controls inflation?Due to interest rate hike, there is less money in the market, less money with you and subsequently less demand. Now,...
