If you see above post of mine , this is precise reason why i didnt suggest any names for helpful user , best poster,networked user, fav poster.. Favouritism will win over contribution/good work as these are very subjective things and sometimes they wouldnt genuinely seen the true efforts of helpful users :banghead:

Not that they are wrong or you are wrong. Its jus subjective things which you cant avoid in any voting process

Its upto the individual to realise these things and nominate ..

i am taking my own example here (i am not pitching myself for an award here, as i have never done )

i am active in the night time IST.
now that is because of you know why reason and i can't help it.

some people who will vote, will obviously try to have a look around and see who is online and who is visibly working (that too according to their perception and observation) as you all have mentioned the individual threads and persons above.

you all know how big this forum is and there can be no definite answer to a particular category. :)

so here favoritism come into play automatically.

this factor can't be pruned or used to a far better extent.

also, as my personal opinion i don't have a problem with that. :D

winning an award is very less important to me than helping the community via my experiences and sharing them here.

Kolkata :

1) Passion of puys here is unbelievable .
2) Meets were conducted regularly at the first half of the season . Not sure why it went dormant in the second half
3) b school meet - Meet with IIM C ppl at Joka
4) One of the encouraging and bonded regional dream team
5) Decent study group .

just to mention, we have meets in the later half of the season also(may be in a greater frequency). But many-a-times there have been hardly any mention in the thread. We even have meets on certain weekends just on a few hours' notice. And as we did not mention about the event, did not mention anything about it post the event also.
And when we mention in the thread, it has been a major event; e.g. the last two meets in the last month.

All ye peepal shouting Bangy Kolkata...

Most Active City: No city other than Bangalore deserve it this time in my opinion, the only city with well coordinated PG meets throughout the season. Mumbai stands second at this. Lot of people might vote for Delhi but if Delhi wins this time, it would be just ebcause it has good representation on forum because factually, it has disappointed the most this season with almost all active puys turning inactive as far as PG meets is concerned.


Agree with you for first spot but I think Pune should be in race for the second spot. This season, Pune has been very active with meets. This season, we tried to manage on an average 1 meet per month. And in the last 5/6 weeks we had about 3 meets; though we did not update details of one meet as it had only 4 of us.

Apart from these official Pune meets, some of us try to meet more often (usually depending upon location) to discuss various things.

Deepak (Deepak_PGI), Prashant (PaceIsAce), Anshul (Anshul_Mechie), Manish sir (Manish_Harodia), Navin (Navin.Pd), Parul (Pari123), Vismay (Ijjat),Shivam (ShivamSudarshan) and myself have been there for many meets.

And then, we have also had a chance to meet follwing well-known members of PG in Pune meet:
(1) Ravi Handa sir :grin:
(2) Subhakimi
(3) Tamal22018
(4) Kimi.Raj
(5) iitr.Abhishek
(6) goelsvaibhav etc.

We are also excepting a few more active non-Pune Puys in Pune meets this season :grin:

However, one challenge we face in Pune is number of Puys being on the lesser side. We usually get about 7 to 8 puys in a meet and it goes upto 12 to 15 maximum. Some new puys have also started taking interest in meets recently. So, signs are encouraging :grin:

This season Bangalore should be most active city. Pune should surely perform upto the mark if not better in coming season :grin: We have some very good plans for coming season, and we hope that we execute them neatly :grin:

Chennai was the worst and then comes Delhi ..

Mumbai : pretty inconsistent ..

Two cities which can fight for the trophy are Bangalore and Kolkata.

Bangalore :

1) Number of Puys turning up for meet
2) GD/PI help by Roger federer ,seba and co
3) Kinjal contribution is invaluable
4) Good active study group - amit , suja , seba , firsty, Roger , gixxr and many others
5) BDT was by far the most active Regional Dream Team this year

Kolkata :

1) Passion of puys here is unbelievable .

I agree Bangy is the best . But Kolkata will give them tough fight as an underdog..

Ps : I am neither bangalore/kolkata born or brought up .. I love visiting meet threads in PG .. So i am saying my perspective based on the interaction with both the city puys :biggrin:

ps1 : Do i even need to say Kinjal deserve puyscar for offline activity ? kinjal : Go to pune and grab it :)

Coming to the efforts recognition of helpful users . I wish to name few more names to that abhi dada's list

bacardispirit,Neo, Harry4u9,Avinashkrjha,Red bull,abhimukh19,Palak Mathur,Arion5 ( one of the most helpful bschooler this year) , Jamiroquai ( Pretty good poster in Investment banking thread) , mayankleo_1 , chillfactor and last but not least Mr.vision .. I am sure this list goes on ..

First of all unbiased suggestions for 2 categories:

Mumbai also didnt had too many meets but lot of meets happened especially between MMDT members that kept the city active.

Best contributor for offline activities :IMHO, none deserve it more than Kinjal aka kinji@PG. Selflessly coordinating the meets in bangalore throughout the season and always ready for any help asked for any PG activity be it online help or offline.

There might be few more people in contention but i have observed few of them talking directly/indirectly for recognition but Kinjal has been different.

This is not to promote him but just to let people know about the people who have really contributed to the forum and might have gone unnoticed. Rest, there are enough popular names being nominated for this , so no more suggestions for the same. :)

We can hardly justify the votes we do . Just that we can make sure it goes impartial , without letting the notion of you share with the candidates personally come in between.

Going by fair means our fair choices will coincide

Then may be Abhimukh19 saar and others who feel these are popular awards might change their mind and vote too

First of all thanks for the praise i agree with your point but Naga has made a very valid case. For eg: i am more active on the SOP & finance threads where a person might have just come once or if i m reviewing the SOP 4 times at max whereas he is more likely to be in touch with someone on the quant thread & might vote for him coz he has been instrumental in his preps.

& Moreover i m here coz i enjoy being here & helping out people!!!!

Sirjee can u find me one regular puy who doesnt know u around....monopolistic is in a positive sense here....as a matter of fact i never knew about u before last AIPGM announcement & now i can v easily say u truly deserve that award

What i have seen is that just because someone is a member of UDT , DT , SBT etc his popularity increases immensely or let say a mod

Avinashkrjha was active in which b-school to apply dealing with newbies mostly , who dont know whats Puyscars

Neo is very active on gmat threads

Bacardi sir is very active on International Education beyond MBA

Red_Bull has been active on which b-school to apply



I have nothing against anyone's opinion as i said there will be 1000s of arguments against my opinion but as long i am active on PG , i will not deter in speaking my mind as always has been the case ..

Along with them, few categories under ShoutBox have been removed as well.

It is all about keeping the non redundant and relevant categories so that puyscars dont lose the charm they carry in appreciation of those who contributed whole year.
