Has anyone ever seen anyone normal share brutally honest negative perspectives about a specific life investment in public? Korean cameras with 2-year shelf life are not life investments. Whenever in life I've gained a balanced perspective about something significant, it has always been through extensive personal research or from people who spoke to me in confidence.

Sure, people bitch about education, parents, significant others etc on hundreds of forums but they will never name the subject of their ire. Says something about human nature eh? There are products that create new kinds of behaviour among people or extend behaviours that already existed, but how can one create a product that expects humans to act against their basic nature.

Point number 2 is about willingness only sir .. and a feedback is a feedback , just that someone posting negative will not be considered the truth isnt it .. Just because we havent seen anyone posting negative about a b-school ( doesnt mean its not the truth) .. though ICFAI HYD thread was a goo...

Your post on All i wanted to say about MBA can be an example of willingness and maturity to share the truth without defaming the college or saying anything negative ..

I also don't want a new thread but i want a few things

1) When we prescribe someone some b-school .. we should do some research whether its worth joining or not , I know arguments will come that not every one is an IIM material but lets do our job and let the person decide .. what he wants do

2) Lets make MBA more clear to people who want to do it .. the big plus or the big negatives .. ( ALL i wanted to say about MBA ) was such a thread but lacks posts

@ajaygovindg i would say prime example of this was last years' comment section on PG rankings :).. if you see b-schoolers fighting specially oldies on PG , we would not be having such an argument today

I agree with these statements.

@ajaygovindg, Let's assume we start a thread and someone goes online to answer it. What will happen is this:
A> If he still has stars in his eyes about his choice, he will portray a highly positive picture. Any negatives just don't exist - he can't even see them.

Even today - over 4 years after passing out - I find myself weighing my words when I am talking about my own alma mater. I shall reply immediately if I were asked about any other school, but I cannot be quick enough for my own bschool. Even if the reply I give is as neutral as the ones I would give for others, the fact that I had to think to formulate my answer is natural enough to realise that I am yet biased.

The thought is good, but it has every chance - even after moderation - to become a sad mudfest without any good reason.

@Apurv If you go through the thread for FORE and also ask some users there (many have PMed me), I have been giving a fairly neutral viewpoint of how things are at FORE. Both pros and cons, and I wouldn't mind doing it again any number of times! And not just on placement front, but all aspects. ...

@ajaygovindg - I have been on PG for 9 years and to this date I haven't seen a single alumni/student, even the sworn OMPA-level oldies, say one non-positive thing about their institute. Truth be said, no is completely honest about their own college. There is a lot of rationalization that takes place and plus the peer pressure is immense.

@abhimukh19 We do have moderators here. So only posts from valid verified B-Schoolers (who have the badge) can post review about their own B-School. Not any other!

but the difference between mouthshut and the b-school feedback section is that the end customer is not common and students themselves will not act as end customers rather competitors demeaning other colleges? :)

@pagalguy, @deepu How about a feedback/review section for institutes. I know there is lots of information on each B-School in various threads spread here and there, but with the threads cluttered with so many other things also in between it becomes tough to know opinions.

@pagalguy Yup I know that I can see that way but if I want to find out from other b-school it is lil difficult. And I guess listing will make sense to find out people from particular b-school to some extent.I think we can wait for some more time and see if more requests comes for the same or not.

@khanjan right now you can just click on the badge and see all the others who've received the badge. We haven't put up an index of badges yet, but that is pretty redundant I think

@pagalguy can we have one page/link/thread where all the B-schools are listed for which badges are issued? So that anyone can go on that page and click on the desired B-School badge and they get all the students who has this badge..

@pagalguy Was just going through the badges section & something to add to the ever growing list of enhancements in pipeline (probably very trivial and last in there!).
How about some badges for PuYsCaR winners and also some badges in Prep section like max questions posted or max answered in QA...

There are easier options, but we think we should take the time to build it right. Mobile is important and we intend to give it the importance it deserves and also there are tons of features that aren't just forums. You have feeds/prepathon and tons of other stuff.

Why not build an api for tapatalk...
This may help...

and tapatalk is way way convenient with notifications/pm and stuff

Tapatalk is a plugin that supports these forum systems: vBulletin, MyBB, IPBoard, Kunena, SMF, phpBB, XenForo, and bbPress. AFAIK, the new version of PG is not related to any of these systems and is a completely homegrown backend. Hence, Tapatalk will not be able to support PG.
