From the day when I browsed the institute website for details, scanned faculties group picture and looked out for clues on life in the institute, to today when all these have became a part of system I live in, life at TAPMI had taught me a lot of lessons.

@shash21 Rules like no smoking on campus, though there is a joint just outside the campus for that.Other rules like 100% attendance, no night outs unless some specific reason and 10.45 pm perm time.
TAPMI is known for academics, so take your call accordingly.

@mayankmychoice That term had placements, as everyone knows that is one of the very important event, for which you slog throughout your 2 years. And as now you must have realized that even juniors have a big role to play during placement week.

So mid terms have ended a week back .... but on the contrary end terms are 20 days away ... such a short term this is... Lot of assignments to do ...don't how am i gonna complete dem with just 20 days remaining... this is how TAPMI grills you ....

So we have almost reached the mid-term exams of 2nd trimester ....this trim. went like a trace of bullet ... BrandScan, TAPMI's 1st IT Conclave, 1st Marketing Conclave, Defi, Outbound etc. etc. ... Time just went by...

Aahhhh...a post in this thread after a very long time...1st term ended finally & 2nd term already started...till now its easy going as compared to the grill we had in 1st term or it is dat i am now used to such grill ... Still awaiting 1st term results... But here we all are now geared up for BrandScan 2012..India's largest Market Research Fair & one of its kind...

@narula123 - Well today we had Ganesh ji ki sthapna here at campus.... We are also gearing up for the Finance Conclave "Horizon" to be held on 22nd September..people from very good finance companies would be coming here...Then we have end terms exams for PGP 1 from 26th September. Also some pre Brand Scan work going on... Its been easy going here since past few days.. expecting now things to get tighten up for the next few days..

So whats new in life at TAPMI these days?

We are almost nearing the end of 1st term. End terms will start from 26th Sep. Time passes so briskly My section's TT team reached the finals of TT competition here & we were the only TT team from 1st year

Finally Mid-Terms ended today have reached the middle part of 1st term. just can't believe, time passes very fast... It was very hectic 2 weeks schedule here with quizzes on continuous days & then Mid-Terms just after 1 day gap Took the s""" out of me & most of my batch mates. 2 mid-term exams per day Open book exams were of full utilization for the very first time for me... For few exams cud sleep only for 2-3 hrs.. Dis happens when u dnt study very often But finally its over... Got few days to relax for now. After dat its again the same story.. Quizzes, Submissions etc. :'(

So i am back....its been a very hectic week here at TAPMI.....First event of the college EPISODE came to an end...its lasted a week...Its an event in which juniors get to interact & work in teams with seniors for various events.. Events include Dance, Song, Plays, Quizzes etc. etc.

It was just a crazy week. A lot of emotions were flowing through this fest...From being the table toppers for first few days my team went down to third position finally. But all in all it was a very gr8 event. Something which i would remember forever. These moments are not gonna come back. This event helped me to interact with a lot of seniors. Seniors of my team were just amazing..very helpful. They took care of all our requirements & arranged things in advance. Never expected seniors to be like this. Salute to them.

But all these things doesn't stop studies at TAPMI. Had classes throughout the week. Submission of case analysis to 2 quizzes in the week to assignments submissions. It was just crazy. There were days when i slept only for 4 hours. Maximum i slept was for 6 hours. Pressure was huge but its all a learning curve. These all taught how to handle stress....handle classes even on sunday for 2.5 hrs...:(

Looking forward to all the coming events.......

Ahhhh...back to PG after a long hiatus... Finally have been waiting for this post since long...Have seen ppl posting about their experiences at their B-School. Always waited for the moment when i would post my first experience So the saga of a new journey of my life begins here....."Once Upon a Time in TAPMI":-

I got a lot of flak from family and friends for choosing TAPMI since it is so far away from my home in Mumbai. I was told about the money I would save by studying in a local Mumbai college. Little wonder then, that I was very apprehensive about this place, but it put me at ease instantly.

My favourite place in Tapmi is the library. Newbies, u guys HAVE to make use of this place. Im not saying this cause Im a bookworm. Im anything BUT. The library at TAPMI is among the best in the country, probably second only to the Ratan Tata library of Delhi School of Economics. It's clean, EXTREMELY spacious, and very cosy.

The hostels in this campus are also very nice with comforts you would find in very few other MBA colleges in the country.

Im glad Im not in some small, congested campus in Mumbai, traveling everyday by the filthy local trains. If you're doing an MBA, it should be a residential program, and if its in the middle of a forrest, with some amazing facilities, amenities and faculty, nothing like it.

This is what I call Start of new beginning at TAPMI. The Start Times At TAPMI,enjoy........

"I need more than 24hrs!!!" is all that comes to my mind since I have joined TAPMI. Excitement before joining TAPMI was at its peak , but it all soared down ones reality was unveiled in its true sense. But then that is what true managers are trained for right, the two T's - Time and Task management.
Life at TAPMI for me began on the auspicious day of 1st July 2011 , we had two days of induction followed by small cultural event for which we had just 5-6 hrs to prepare , this was where fun began , we practised all night and gave fantastic performance ,I was part of a drama and we did a splendid job , in true sense it was fun ,ended up making some good friends . Seniors were right, life in TAPMI is not just about academics but about having fun too, managing time and finding that talent to excel within you .The cultural event during induction was truly an opportunity to come on stage and just get that fear off your mind. I was never an actor but ended up in a skit on day one itself.
After induction primers began and true picture of what is installed for us started forming in our mind. Primers were fun too, learned how to make and break cases also something called MS Excel. At night all the guys would come together for a game of Counter Strike our only hope of relaxation, guess now I know it was the quiet atmosphere just before the storm . The storm of Episode!! In between we had our own Fresher's party'. Got a chance for a date with senior too. It was one hell of rocking party. Just as the two weeks of primers ended, the real deal term-1 just started dancing on our heads. Initial days were smooth but then as subjects progressed the nrutya(Sanskrit) of "Assignment Devata" started and bang!! we were all asked to follow the steps. The fun part was just about to begin with Episode just a week away , the canteen area started becoming centre of attraction during lunch break , different colour teams took to stage in canteen banging plates, drums, singing loud slogans and attracting juniors ,at that time just one thought came to my mind either "Seniors Have Gone Mad" or "I am seeing things" .But later I came to know that was just a part of episode , full week this banging and attention attracting jingo took place ,no doubt it was fun ,"What a show seniors!!".
The real deal episode began the immediate week, we were randomly selected and put in different teams , I still don't know what was the criteria though , but to my anticipation became part of Blue team. It was a group of bunch of seniors and juniors. I came to know that we had to win different events during episode and get points for our team. So during episode we participated in different events. I got the real taste of how your life changes at TAPMI during episode. I was never a dancer, neither a fashion show model but TAPMI and Episode changed it all for me. I danced in a group and danced solo as "Elvis Presley" .The snaps on my Facebook account still amaze my friends and make them surprise and asking questions "Was this the Viraj We knew??" . Also episode brought out the true creative spirit in us. We showcased our creativity in quiz, video making as well as numerous other activities. I didn't know these talents existed in us, but TAPMI brought out all these qualities in us in just 1 month. I wouldn't say more ,but life has truly changed for me since in TAPMI. Academic rigour combined with all these talent extracting programs truly has made my life at TAPMI a fun filled event. I would not say too much but would say "TAPMI You Have Changed My Life and Made Me Think Beyond"
To end it all for me life at TAPMI is more of race, where you need to run and catch up with time and make up for all lost and be winner that is what I feel TAPMI will teach me and make a better individual.

A superfast curriculum of two and half months tested us with the downpours of assignments, quizzes and exams. Ultimately we wrapped up one third of the journey with the culmination of the year. Volleyball matches in campus, participation in national level events and festivals kept the momentum of enjoyment on.
Looking back I recall the first day in campus, when we were a bunch of anxious aspirants who walked in with dreams in eyes. :)

Today when we have slowly set ourselves in the exciting campus, the anxiety while travelling to institute is replaced by intent to traverse the voyage of education. With the commencement of third term, we look into more classes, more activities and fun filled events such as cultural 'Waves', sports event - 'Speed' and international B-fest 'Atharva'.

Brandscan, finance conclave, health management conclave, dandiya night, leadership lecture series and lots more.
Two months seem to be short for the enriching experience. But we did it. From performing dandiya during navratri(coincidentally the festival arrived just after commencement of second term), taking notes from the business interactions during health management conclave, getting an insight in the leadership lecture series, to gaining practical experience in the largest marketing fest of India(i.e. Brandscan) it was a continuous session of learning in a short span of time. Add to it the fun we have through classroom learning. Life couldn't have had asked for a better challenge. And last but not the least, the arrival of annual fest 'Atharva' in a grand style summed the culmination of last two months. As the world looks to take a leap and bid good bye to the present year, we make sure to exploit and enjoy each and every second of life.

Finally, its vacation time! Waking up in early morning was a happy reason for me this time as I boarded the cab and headed home. As the cab met highway at the mouth of the narrow lane at Udaywara junction, I took recourse of replaying the events that happened since last few days. The action started from 27 November, 2011.
Four and half days, seven rounds, three sections. It was the most coveted event throughout the trimester. The end term exam had arrived.
Group studies, optimal utilization of sleep, increased short burst visits to canteen were few symptoms of exam fever. Ultimately, we were able to put a brave show in the combat and end term examination finished on 1 October.
But the action was half done now. While most students were busy warming(packing, planning, etc) to hit home, some of us were gearing up for one of the most exciting events in the calendar of TAPMI, i.e. the outbound. Curiosity of experiencing adventure drove me to opt for outbound occurring after the(1st) term(which took off from 2nd October).
What was expected to be an adventure only session turned out to be an adventure cum learning session. Students from different sections were engaged n healthy interaction. The aspect of I wish the problem was solved outside in an informal manner was experimented. We introspected the aspects of practical behavior in decision making process, performed activities from river crossing(moving from one end to other end over a canal using a cable which was hung on top) to trust fall where individual falling back and peers catching him/her(warning: do not try this ever without expert guidance). Add to list the occasion of treating our taste buds with tasty delicacies, the experience was enriching. The beautiful scenery at Kavimane(home of national poet Kuvempu), the sharp chicanes encountered in route to TAPMI and the vibrant energy of the students doubled the experience factor. Finally we were back in campus after a refreshing two and half days experience.
For those of us who are yet to experience the outbound, the learning awaits next term. As of now, its me travelling home to taste the first vacation.

In context with my last post on this thread, lets go ahead what happened after our induction. We PGP - 1 students slowly started getting busy with academics.

There comes the Fresher party . Our seniors gave us the best ever fresher party I had ever attended. Thank you seniors for such a wonderful party.

End of July
I was wondering that I haven't met enough number of seniors to gauge more about the life here, for some guidance etc. As we were busy we could not approach them. And guess what?? There came the event called 'Episode'. I cannot divulge more information about this event as this is a surprise event for incoming batch. But let me tell you, we had very good interaction with our seniors during the 15 day event 'Episode' We enjoyed a lot during this event.

After Episode, our academics took toll on our timetable.. Daily classes, assignments, group assignments, presentations.. Life became very busy. But you enjoy doing hard work as you get company of intellectual people, so I a enjoying the busy days here. Then came the midterms. We have really talented and competitive batch here, so let me skip discussion about my relative performance in the midterms :splat::splat:

Episode, Disha, lecture series, classes and fun . This is how I sum up my Experience at TAPMI till date. When I look back to the glorious date of 30th June when our batch of 2011-2013 stepped into the campus, I take rejoice in playing back those moments which started from then onwards. If assignments were a part of baggage of the students :splat:, then the notebooks were filled with the spirit of creativity ;). Being shuffled up in classes gave me an opportunity to interact with people from various domains. From ganesh chaturthi to class presentations, each and every occasion/opportunity was relished with the fruits of hard work. Engineering, commerce, arts and other background galvanised to form a strong base of knowledge. The thrilling last minutes group activity submissions, the challenging task of convincing group to reach a consensus, the lighter moments shared during the breaks, the outings to beautiful locales after accomplishing tasks and many other activities keeps we the students ticking on the clock if TAPMI. We abide by the rule of punctuality and discipline. We take pride in interacting with faculties in class. We relish the fun when given an opportunity to showcase our extracurricular talents. And finally we party hard when we get an opportunity. You dont fall in love with this place , you get addicted to the place.

Let me tell you one thing about Tapmi
'Tapmi NEVER sleeps'

Now let me describe my experience with Tapmi so far.

30th June, 2011
I reached Tapmi on 30th of June at 3:30pm. When I saw the campus, the only word came out of my mouth was the word Awesome... A beautiful 42 acre hilly area surrounded with greenery. Whether here is rainy during these days.
After reaching here in my room unpacked luggage by 5:30pm.. Met some of my batch mates. At 7.28pm I came to know that I have to go for a meet at 7:30pm which was arranged by Student Executive Council. I went to the assigned place and I was late by 5 mins. I entered the room and one senior came and told me dont you know about TST??
I said NO. He very politely said set your watch as per the Tapmi class room wall clock and follow it from now onward.
So lesson 1: be on time for any class or meet.

Now, the meet was for the cultural event we PGP-1 students have to present on 2nd of July . So w were around 50 odd people from PGP-1 and all the faces were unknown. We started forming groups according to our interest. We became friends within an hour. We started working on the drama in which I was participating. Worked on the drama script till 3.00am in the morning.
So this interaction and team forming was very helpful on day zero to know my batch mates...

I am loving the culture here..

I am sorry to sound a bit out of space but as i was going thru the posts and reading about the wonderful times all of u have had in TAPMI, i was wondering on which post i might find the placement records for this years placements... the first page of this discussion board had a detailed report on the placement record and what all newer heights the college achieved and milestones met and crossed by them... but for this year i failed to read anything interesting on the summer internship experiences or the placements.. even though towards the end there was a slight bitter distaste being developed over the life of TAPMI and the stringent rules been implemented...
i agree to all of u that these rules and regulations are the part f a managerial program and its so, so as to instill a sense of discipline and not take management as a joke, and i personally dont feel that either TAPMI or any other B-school(serious ones) ever should take an apology for that coz the mission of creating world-class MBA professionals is more important for them... I am myself looking forward to this life if i do get selected for the same... but just a slight insight on the placement and summer internship records would really do well for many students here who, sorry to say, might be double-minded for believing the website records... at least ur personal experiences on the same would really be helpful and motivational...

I appreciate your concern for gathering as much detailed information as possible before making your decision. At this juncture, I would suggest you to concentrate on converting all your calls first, as you will then have a plethora of options before you to evaluate and do your research on.

Its been around a fortnight since the convocation of TAPMI batch of 2009-11, but the feeling is yet to sink in. On one hand feels proud to be a part of the silver jubilee convocation but then still can't get to terms with the fact that the student life for me is all but over. The past 24 months (ok 21 months to be precise) have been the most "productive" of my life. There was a lot to learn, some technical but mostly about the skills which helps one grow in life. Having witnessed some of the major changes(for good) in the college over the past year (most of which were initiated by the student communities in the college) wish could have stayed a bit longer to relish the fruits of the initiatives.

As someone who is about to pass out of this institute in another 2 weeks, let me give you my opinion on all the questions raised so far.

What you beloved cousin told you is not the whole truth. It is his perception of a fact. In every organization, be it a corporate or an educational one, you will find folks who are not happy with the system. That in itself does not prove that the system is bad, it shows that we as human beings tend to get complacent about our surroundings in a very short time.
Ever seen people cribbing about how the Indian government is useless and it should be kicked out? Do any of these people have a concrete solution to improve the government's working? No right? It is because as an observer we cannot and donot want to get our hands dirty in the system.

Like every institute in the country, TAPMI has its share of goods and bads. It is something each one of has to accept before we enroll into any b-school. Like every other organization, this place has its own culture and DNA. It is academic rigour that you are pitched and when u accept that admission it is exactly what you are agreeing to. Do not fool yourself into believing that you are enrolling into a 'Fun' course.
From my personal example I can tell you that when I went for my summers in a top FMCG company, it is precisely this rigour that kept me going in the face of back-breaking workload and in-human expectations. It is this trial-by-fire that made my summers seem like a cake walk while a number of my colleagues from other b-schools threw their towels into the ring. And for that I am greatful to my alma-mater.
As far as in-time of 11.30 pm is concerned, trust me, there is nothing to do in Manipal post 11.30 pm. The clubs, the pubs, the nightlife all shuts down by 11.30 at night. If u want to stay out, you always have the liberty of taking a night-out. And did your cousin tell you (im assuming he/she is my batchmate) about their being no perm time for the hostels?
From my limited understanding of human psyche, I know we always talk about the negatives of one institute over another to differentiate and choose. Do you know about TAPMI being an official Blue Oceans Research Centre in India? Or about something called a CIS?
Once the official press release for this year's placement comes out, people criticising us will have their feet in their mouth once they look at the companies which came on campus this year.
My advice would be to look beyond the negatives. Look at the complete picture. You have heard from your cousin about the bads at TAPMI. But do you have any such info about other B-schools in the country. Trust me, they all have their shortcomings. And big ones at that. Like you, I also found our from my cousins in these b-schools.
Im not advocating because im a student here. My only concern is that a one-sided opinion should not cloud your judgment about anything. Sometimes hearing from the horse's mouth isnt enough.

It is heartening to see such great reviews about TAPMI. I do not contest your opinions but I have also heard something which does not go well with the picture that you have posed of your college. My cousin who is about to pass out from there tells me that this college is a 'nightmare' for the students and that the rules and regulations are made in such a way that they hamper the learning that a future leader or a manager should have. He cited various reasons for it. Some of them are:

1. 90% attendance is compulsory and that your grades are directly affected if you exceed this limit. No personal request for leave is considered. You cant exceed the limit even if you are sick or have an ailing/dying parent (god forbid).

2. Using mobiles phones attracts a fine of a few thousand bucks. Isnt it too much?

3. You cannot enter the campus after 11:30 PM. Else be ready to shell out a few grands from your pocket.

4. There have been cases in the past where students have been barred from summer and placements because they broke some rule.

As I have been told, all this and many more things have actually left a bitter taste in every student passing out.

Seems that TAPMI is not such a great b-school when it comes to 'life@TAPMI.

First of all, welcome to PaGaLGuY! Hope you are having a great time in New Delhi/Chandigarh/wherever you are from ... let me go through your questions one by one:

1. Attendance rules are put in place in most B-schools. If you had seen the brochure of TAPMI even once, you would have noticed that the college stresses on academic rigour, which means that there is a lot of focus given to academics. Hence, it becomes imperative to have a system in place to ensure that students are keeping up with the daily work and do not miss the flow, as far as classes are concerned.

2. Mobile phones are a distraction in any classroom environment. How would you feel if you are giving a presentation and suddenly someone starts talking on the phone?

3. When you are in a fully residential program, it becomes necessary to have certain regulations to ensure everyone's welfare. Hence, such rules have been put to place. There are fines imposed in some places for not wearing matching socks or coming to class in formals. You can probably ask your cousin to find out where it is being done, so that you are even more enlightened.

4. You can go through the placement and summer internship records of the past, and identify the candidates (if any) who you feel were not placed because of the college. I request you to mail me the details of any such incident which you are talking about. (Again, you can get my mail id from your cousin)

5. We had at least 30 alumni in campus yesterday, and none of them had any such 'issues' or 'bitter tastes' that you are referring to.

My first post in the new year! 2010 has been a great year for me, especially the second half, which was spent here in Manipal. Time just seems to be flying right now, and it is sometimes hard to believe that we have created so many bonds and friendships here in so little time :)

The new year began with the end term exams of the second term, which seemed to be two levels higher than the first one ... It was soon followed up with the third term, and with another set of interesting subjects.

One subject that stands out from the rest is Social Transformation of Business. I had never in my short span at TAPMI seen a one-hour lecture being passionately discussed at length by the entire class; but all that changed thanks to our wonderful professor, who has made us wake up from our virtual sleep and be sensitive to the difficulties of the people around us.

Today, we also had Lohri celebrations, where all students gathered around a campfire and celebrated the first festival of the year ... Looking forward to an Action-Packed 2011!

December 9, 2010....A very eventful day in the history of our college! TAPMI added another feather in its cap with the inauguration of its new 42-acre hi-tech campus by the Honourable President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil.

Her Excellency arrived at the campus at 10.50 AM with a convoy of 25 vehicles, and unveiled the Inaugural stone in three languages (Hindi, English and Kannada). She also planted a sapling, symbolizing a new beginning, and thereby marking this day in the rich history of the institute. The inauguration was also attended by Mr. H.R. Bhardwaj, Governor of Karnataka and Dr. V.S. Acharya, Minister for Higher Education, Planning and Statistics, Muzrai Government of Karnataka. Chairman and Members of TAPMI Trust and Governing Council were also present at the event.

TAPMI has now joined the league of very few B-Schools in the country whose campuses have been inaugurated by a President of India, something that all of us are feeling really proud about! :)

It was another highly eventful day at TAPMI... The day began with the FMT presentations which each group had to make. This was one presentation that everyone dreaded because no one had a clue what all those values that we had calculated actually meant! Our group was luckily the last to present, so we had enough time to listen to the other groups' presentations and gather information

In the evening, there was a candle light march from the Knowledge Centre to the Student Centre, to mark the fifth death anniversary of Manjunath Shanmugam, a whistle-blower who had died fighting for his cause against corruption. At the end of the march, we students took a pledge to promote and practice a strong set of ethics in our lives, and to raise our voices against any form of corruption.

Later in the night, it was time for GOONJ '10! GOONJ is TAPMI's musical extravaganza, where students from all sections showcase their talents in front of their peers. There were many sparkling performances from both PGP1 and PGP2. Be it RUM PUM PUM or TISHNAGI, White Noise or Amar Prem, each of the teams set the stage alight with their entertaining performances! There were a few additional performances by the students of HCM and eGPX as well; and to top it all, some of our beloved professors also sang their favourite songs for us! :)

All in all, it was a very special day. More special events coming up tomorrow, as TAPMI gears up to welcome its Alumni...

Its time for HOMECOMING '10!...

Little did any one knew that Manipal could attract 5000 people in just one and half days.. For an institute which prides its marketing prowess, Brandscan 2010 just became another feather in the cap..
The amount of effort which went into the promotions for the event cudnt have born better fruit.. The decibel levels brandscan team generated after the event was a testimony to the joy of making the event a grand success :cheers:

Its been a week full of sleepless nights for all of us working on the event.. From exploring the intricacies of market research to rackling our creative side of the brains, it was all fun.. To research the consumer's minds we met numerous people and innumerous characters.. For once it felt how it is to be shoved away by people when someone asks 'Sir, Can I have 5 minutes of yours'.. Every team wanted their stall to be the best decorated one.. People ended up colouring everything but for their eyes in the process :)

Finally the event kicked off.. All eyes on the rain gods.. Only time rain wud ve got us more worried is a 'Cricket match'... It did threaten but we prevailed.. Event after event the crowd built up and we did manage to pull up a great show.. But one thing which stood out according to me.. The kids who performed in the show 'Kids got talent'.. We, 25 yr monsters, were left wondering "Are we even half talented as these kids are".. Those little feet n farm fresh vocal chords did win each one of our hearts.. They did set the stage on fire..

What a fun-filled week we've had! Meeting at 9.30 became a ritual we started looking forward to in this one week..planning for "disguised" games and stalls that would attract the crowd..
Come 13th, we actually saw our labor bearing fruit..first with the awesome looking flex that had been designed on Rajini then with the various paraphernalia being put in place..slogging in the sun never seemed better!
As the fair was declared open, people started pouring into the various stalls..whether it was Rajini ka Dhaba or Moneypal or Spooky Circus or Facebook.. one couldn't get up to drink water !!
Events like Mr.Biker, Mosh - the Rock band competition, Panache - the fashion show, Kids got Talent, Dance Masti kept the people hooked..
As the fair came to an end, we all realized how much we would miss the sessions..Eagerly waiting for BrandScan '11..

The last few days saw a lot of fun activities in the campus. NAACH was immediately followed by DEFI-10, which is the annual Entrepreneurship event at TAPMI. 8 teams with very new and unique ideas were selected to implement their Business plans within the limits of Manipal. Be it Team Triumph that brought Zorbing to Manipal and to TAPMI, or Team Aagama which delivered fresh fruits at every doorstep, or Team LucreSource which did everything from having a chat stall to massaging, DEFI was one event which was enjoyed by one and all! The creativity of all the teams was well appreciated by the students, and everyone is now looking forward to DEFI-11 to implement even newer ideas! :)

The BrandScan 2010 team officially announced the 10 different market research projects that will be undertaken during BrandScan. (the Biggest Market Research Fair held in India and is going to be held at the MJC grounds on 13th and 14th November). All the students were divided into groups, with each group working on one of the projects. This Sunday also saw the official opening of BrandScan 2010, with a 5 km Marathon organized by the students of TAPMI for the cause Say NO to Drugs!!

Apart from all these events, the students of TAPMI also celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, inside the campus. Friday evening saw a Lakshmi pooja held in the Student Centre, which was attended by one and all. This was followed by students bursting crackers near the Academic Block, and spreading goodwill among each other. It was another occasion where the entire campus joined hands to celebrate the feeling of togetherness. :)

28th October, 2010 ...

I think it was one of my best birthdays ever! The whole class was there at the TAPMI well to wish me (and to put cake on my face :D ), despite the practice sessions for NAACH!

Come evening, and the gala event began at TAPMI greens. The first round was a medley round, with the PGP2 sections performing first. Both the classes gave spirited performances, especially Team BPO (Section 2).

Ours was the first team from PGP1 to perform. HAPPY FEET, as we called ourselves, lived up to its name and set the stage on fire with lively performances from literally the entire class! The highlight of the class performance was the "Munni Badnaam Hui" song, which has now become the most shared video on Facebook! :D

The second round was the challenge round, where sections challenged each other to a dance. Team BPO came up with a great performance on "Satrangi Re", which was closely matched by HAPPY FEET's "I am The Best".

At the end of the day, NAACH 2010 will be remembered for the team spirit shown by all the classes, despite having busy schedules and last moment changes during practice sessions. I could not have asked for a better birthday than dancing on stage for the first time in my life! :)

After an energizing Dandiya Nite on Saturday, the whole college is gearing up for the next big event - NAACH!

NAACH is an inter-section dance competition held every year at TAPMI by ChoreCom, with students from PGP1 and PGP2 participating. There are multiple dance rounds in the event, which brings out the budding talent of the students; but the defining factor of NAACH is the participation from almost the ENTIRE batch! Even the 'two-left-feets' get to shake a leg, as they compete against their friends from the other sections ... It has been very heartening to see all the guys pitching in enthusiastically during the practice sessions, which are sometimes held late in the night! :)
