Well its Over,our 15 days orientation programme at IMT-Ghaziabad is done with and now we are all set to fly to dubai and reach our alma mater campus IMT-Dubai @Academic city.:D

It was really an amazing and enriching experience to be at IMT-ghaziabad for a fortnight gave us an overview of what to expect for our life @IMT-Dubai.

With Just two days to go for our orientation to end here @ IMT-Ghaziabad,I guess its about time I begin to summarize my experiences for the past two weeks @IMT-Ghaziabad.

Some Questions to Re-collect My Experiences.

1) The Time When I Enjoyed The Most.

During Hostel Room Allocation.

2) The Class and The Prof I Liked The Most.

Marketing and Prof Sabharwal,Looks like a begining of long relationship between both of us.:)

Late Night Coffee(usually around 3:00 AM) at Nescafe @IMT-Ghaziabad.:cheers:

I certainly don't regret my experiences because without them, I couldn't imagine who or where I would be today. Life is an amazing gift to those who have overcome great obstacles, and attitude is everything!

Great analysis of your possible future equations with all the subjects you will encounter....

A word about Accountancy, I being from a commerce background took Accounts sessions for my engineer batchmates...

You will most probably have a love hate relationship with the subject.....Initially you will ask...WHY...aisa kyon hai...waisa kyon hai...why not like this....WHO SAYS IT WILL BE DEBIT AND NOT CREDIT!!!???

Then will come a point where you will be frustrated beyond repair...and then....suddenly it will click...and the entire mystery will unfold...all the balance sheets will match, every journal entry will be right and you will enjoy it like hell....

Some of the ppl whom I taught the basics have outscored me in the end terms:D

Your prediction abt Marketing and Eco is spot on. Every Marketing prof worth his salt will always give you atleast 1 oneliner per lecture which you will remeber for the rest of your life....as for Eco...carry injectible coffee if you can!!!!

We have been having quite a few of interesting activities for all of us in the last few days,we have had varied experiences but I am sure that each one of has gained not on

Some of The Interesting Team building Exercises @IMT-G.
1) Trust Fall.:beta1:

Simply loved it!

Best Part:One of My batch mate started shouting even before he had jumped and continued shouting even after she had reached the ground.Fear makes all of us do strange things.

2) Pipes.:cool2:

A Game of Patience and Concentration,I simply loved it.

Lesson Learnt:Never Relax in a Game,we were winning by quite a margin,then got relaxed and the result game-drawn:(.

3) Skit Play.

I thought I was not much of an actor,but how wrong I was...I am a bit of actor...:laugh:,took part in two im-promptu skits yesterday and boy was it fun,the instantaneous nature was the best part,sample a topic in which our team perfromed a skit,You have been caught red handed blackmarketing a movie ticket to a couple by a cop.(You got the two extra tickets cause your Gf didn't show up @last minute and you are in for a loss if you didnt do something),such gr8 plots to work with we had fun.

These games and all the games that we have been involved in,have really helped us all in gelling up together and knowing each other better.

Kudos to Step Team and my Class of 2010!

The Begining!!:D

Its been only two days since we all started our journey of MBA @IMT-Dubai but we can already feel the heat..

So,Now the question arises why the hell are we facing this heat..??:confused:

Well the answer lies in the itineary which has been prepared for all of us.as I had informed in earlier posts also we have got an early morning yoga to reach to every morning and the time is 5.30 AM,then after an hour of yogic gyaan,we have our team building and leadership exercises which happen all day long,these exercises are being conducted by 'STEP' an HR Consulting organization and I must say that they have chalked one hell of a week long programme for us including all the adventure games and what not..I am sure the amazing amount of knowledge that we are gaining thru these fun filled exercises will go a long way in shaping not only our careers but also our life's!

Management Fundas Learnt in Last two day @IMT-G.

1) Time is the most Precious commodity in our life.

Well,this is the first management funda that I have learned in these couple of days,nothing is as valuable as your time and how do u manage your time defines what kind of life you will have.

2) When you got to do it,you got to do it.

Self-Explanatory.

I will come up with the details of the interesting activities that we have been doing over the last couple of days in my next post.

Although my health deteriorated and I had to unfortunately come back to Mumbai, I just cant wait to get back there as soon as my health permits............

Well the reason I really loved this thread is that I feel that its a sort of time capsule. Having already spend my first three months in a B School and having gone through that initial euphoria of making it to good school and excitement over the prospects of making so many new friends and learning so many new things just shows in your posts and I can relate to it like hell.....and its so very memorable....

I have read every post in this nascent thread and I intend to be a regular follower because I think it would be really interesting to see how your life shapes up in the new environment. Looking forward to seeing whats similar and whats not in your B School experience...The kind of load, the kind of work, the kind of hardships you go through(yeah i am pretty sure prof will put u through them ) and the kind of FUNNNN you have....

Its Almost 4:00 AM in the morning and I have not slept even for a minute,i guess there is something in the air over here that doesn't let me...,I am writing this from the IMT-Ghaziabad Library and even now its as alive as 10 A.M in the morning..just met a batch mate from IMT-Ghaziabad @ Nescafe,he had just hoped in for a quick round of maggi before heading off to studies...(Every one of IMT-G 1st year student has a kotler book in there hand now...gearing up for the exam scheduled later today..) and just as I was discussing with my friend,how bad it will be tommorow as we had not slept thru the night and have a real tight schedule tommorow and blah blah.we were enlightened by him that,we should be happy cause we are atleast getting a nights sleep cause during there orientation week they didnt have even an hours sleep.:beta1: and my cribbing stopped just there....

The Campus life @IMT-Ghaziabad is one of the best in the world,I mean you can do anything you want to at anytime 24x7,play tennis,do gym,basketball,library..as the punch line goes "city never sleeps",it would suit aptly to IMT-G.

I would like to a word of special thanks to all the staff and students @IMT-Ghaziabad for being so supportive and helpful to us.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR CLASS OF 2010!

This is the day,I am sure that all of the MBA aspirants dream of,there first day @B-School,there are loads of questions in ones mind,like who all are our batchmates,what will be our life from now on,how will things change and umpteenth more questions,so with all these questions in our mind,we got up this morning to a new chapter in our lifes.

And the orientation programme that we had today,not only lived upto all of our expectations but exceeded them by a good margin.

Highlights of The Orientation Programme.
1) The Esteemed Panel of Our Orientation Ceremony.:grin:

Dr.B.S Sahay(Director,IMT-Ghaziabad),innaugrated our orientation ceremony by lighting up the holy lamp,he welcomed us to the IMT family and shared with us his vision for IMT and how IMT-Dubai was at the forefront of that picture,then Dr.Arvind Seth(Dean-Academics,IMT-Dubai) Shared with us his first hand experiences @IMT-dubai and what kind of life we could expect @IMT-D and what all was expected of us,other members of the panel included Dr.A.M Sherry(Director-Admissions Committie-IMT),Dr Chakaravarthy(Dean,IMT-Ghaziabad) and Mr.Acharaya(Chief Administrative officer,IMT-Ghaziabad),we were really privleged to hear from all these esteemed personalties.

2) Presence of Two of Our Seniors from the class of 2006 @ Orientation Programme.

Mr.Vikas Misra and Ms.Meenal Chatturvedi two of seniors graced the occassion and shared there first hand experiences as a student @IMT-Dubai,they were really good to interact with and put a rest to all the question's that we all had.Thanks a lot for helping us out!

3)The Diversity of Our Batch.:cheerio:

This is one of the added advantage for our batch,I have my friends joining me fro not only all over India but also from dubai,sharjah and so on..we have national level sportsperson in our batch,Indian Idol Contestant and so on...it really feels gr8 to be a part of this batch which I am sure is going to do take IMT-D where it should be.

It Truly was an enriching experience of interacting with all and share there experiences,truly gave us an outlook of what to look forward of Life @ IMT-D.

This is my first post after coming over to IMT-Ghaziabad for our 15 day orientation cum Retreat programme and it feels really good to be here.:D,I mean just to be here and get a kick start to my MBA is simply amazing.

We all the students of IMT-Dubai arrived yesterday and right from that time as they say "we can feel the heat...!!",it all started with we being allocated our rooms,all girls were allocated rooms within the hostel in the campus,and lucky few boys like yours truly whose names starts with 'A' were also allocated rooms in the hostel,rest of the boys were being accomodated in Hotel Mela Plaza right next to our campus.

The Whole of yesterday went by in a whisker in alloting rooms and getting acquantited with new friends.

gosh!!!just a week left 4 B-school life to start......1st challenge-pack 2yrs' stuff within 20kgs.....cuz dats the baggage limit!n d worst part is my suitcase itself weighs 5kgs!!!!!!
next is.......finding out abt money transfer,mobile connections,food,etc.
but b4 dt we have abt 15days to chillout at ghaziabad campus....yes!we have our retreat cum induction program which is being conducted by IMT-G.sm ppl have plans to get back to their hometowns b4 flying to dubai.not me tho....
as of nw this is how it is......all of us getting ready for our roller coaster ride at dubai!n once we reach ghzbd campus we'll have lots of experiences to share.....

All through my life i have never done what others are expecting....nobody expected me to take Science in 11th class...den nobdy expected me that i'll go for engineering......den nobody expected that i'll be better placed than what i was some time back....i got the interview call for IMT, D suddenly.....those were d days when i was busy in my bro's marriage......but when it was over i put a much thought 2 it and went 4 d interview.......d mood was cool, as always.......interview was awsum.....

when i got selected finally, i told my parents dat i wont join and wud like to once again prepare for CAT and may b look for some oder gud B-school in India....oderwise will work 4 around 3 years and try MBA in USA......but my parents stressed on my joining........the fact dat my bro is in USA and he's also an MBA helped me a lot.....it was his decision that i shud go 4 d interview.....all oder pts. dat were against IMT,D were of no importance 4 me...so what it was new???? etc etc.......we'll make d B-school go on Top............m looking forward for my life in Dubai and m sure IMT,D will be d best B-School in the world soon.......

And it wil clear myth among ppl dat truely IMT-D isnt last option for anyone of us.V had other options too but took IMT-D caz it is a great investment to cash in and soon goin to be D Best clg around..I have my own experience...I chose IMT-D over admission in France reputed clg and also over London's admission..

So,ppl if u wana be d leader not just follower,then dis is a place to be...:cheerio:

Steps to follow:-

1. First, go check up your user Control panel and proceed to the Group Memberships Page.
   
2. Scroll down and find your school...You will find a corresponding "Join Group" option. Click on that.
   
3. That would lead you to a Request page where you have to give a reason for joining the group.
   
4. Finally, click on "Send Request". Voila....Your request is then sent to your group leader.
   
5. After your request has been approved , you can then change your usergroup from within your User Control Panel, so that your new rank image shows through! Until you do this, your group membership is not reflected in your profile as well as your posts !!
   

Revert back to me in case of any issues!;)

Thats the line that comes to my mind as I begin to summarize IMT-D Delhi Meet Chapter-2.
Now I always had this feeling in my heart that its gonna rain on the day of our meet,it had already been raining cats and dogs for the past couple of days and the rain gods had not given me any reason to believe to it wont on sunday,but somehow I believed that if there is any day for this meet to take place it is today,some of my friends were already calling for a second plan to be put in action just in case it rained.but I dont know why I had this affection for India gate and kept the first plan in action.
Time Lines on a Rainy Sunday:
15:30-> Its been raining for past couple of hours.Why me God..??
16:00-> People Start calling in,Is the meet On..?? and I reply sure it is...
16:30-> Rain turns into drizzle and I leave for India Gate.Thank God
16:30-18:00->People keep calling in to confirm there Presence.(Cheerzz to you guys who came even after heavy rains!!)
Well,this time line would have given you just an backdrop to the conditions in which this meet was held,but by the time we all reached India Gate,by God's grace the weather had cleared and India Gate was looking as awesome as it always does.ready for an exciting meet.
I was the first one to reach there(I had to...!),and then slowly junta starting trickling in,first came paras,then 5mins later varun,nipun,nitin,varun(second).....I was relived now that atlast the meet at India gate is taking shape and its gonna be if not gud but ok..(I was soon to be proved wrong...),as people kept coming in till 7,at the end of the hour we had about 20 people that had joined us over at India Gate all rearing for the meet and it was turning out to be a gr8 meet.the first thing that anybody will do at India Gate is obviously click a couple of snaps and our IMT-D guys not to be left behind did the same,we had our group photo and then we proceeded to roam around India Gate.
Now,Madhur had not turned up till 7(Busy man as he is..,he called me up and asked for our positions...which I made him aware of,he joined us at arnd 7:15,junta continued with usual IMT-D gyaan...(now dont ask me what that gyaan is...?)but it was interacting with so many of my friends...then madhur came up with this nice thought of having an ice cream and a line came to my mind of a gr8 Ice Cream Vendor.."No Journey to India gate is complete without having an Ice Cream..",so all of us enthusatically went to the ice cream vendor,now being an MBA student we tried to work out some discount for all of us as we were more than 20 people but sadly weren't able to convince the vendor..perhaps after an MBA from IMT-D we all will be able to learn how to do it..,anyways so all of the guys had there ice lollies..(not me..as i was suffering from Cold..) I heard later that the Ice Creams were Sponsored by Madhur as he had a gr8 newss to share with all of us which he did later(I will not divulge it here,without your consent Madhur.) but I would like to congratulate you on this gr8 newz,we had a Ice Cream IMT-d photo shoot..(Pic Mailed @ GG)...then we continued with another round of our our usual chit chat..it was already around 8.30 and it was about time that we bought this eventful evening to an end and at around 8.30 after having a photo-op against a light studded India Gate we all called it a day and decided to have our next meeting at IMT-D..
Highlights of The Day:
1) By God's Grace Weather Clearing Up.
2) Junta Turning Up in Large Numbers Despite the Rains.
3) Madhur's Top Newzz.!
It was a gr8 meet Guys and I would once again like to thank all of you guys who turned up for the meet and made it so successful and Rocking..!!If we keep up the same enthusiasm I am sure we would do gr8 at IMT-D.

Just returned from IMT-D Delhi Meet-2 @ India Gate,was gr8..will come up with details of the meet pretty soon..but was fun meeting new people and fellow batchmates.

Hi Diablo,

There is not one but two threads regarding Life@ Imt D but regretably both are dead long time back.

Reasons for Starting This new thread:

1) Previous Threads not being active for past many months.
2) Wanted to go on for good informative begining to the most imp thread for us at IMT D.
3) This thread is not just about life @ IMT D but much more than that.

These are few are the reasons that lead me to opening of his thread.

And I guess these are enough good reasons for me to continue with this thread.

Sure will ask the mods to close the old threads.
