Well,i have never written this before but i guess this is the right time for me to share with u all a view from my hostel that i so cherish..that whenever i see it,i get rejuvenated..feel happy..brings upon a smile on my face..and that view is of the famed sheikh zayed road and the most famous building in the world i.e. Burj Al Arab..The tallest building in the world..just to see that building gives you the grips as to what not is possible if we set our mind to it..,in the night the light from the buildings over there glitter as to giving me hope in the dark..simply awesome..!!

4.30 in the morning..and i want to sleep.......but HR wont let me..

Actualy its my midterm in bout 5hrs from now and i am not studin that,but i am doin is an HR assignment that has its deadline too tommorow..had a moring maggi rght now..coffee is wat makes me tick at this point of time..:crazyeye:

too full of HR to write anythn more at this point of time.......but would say one thing HR to me is pretty boring and repettive..wonder thats y,i found HR's at my office boring..!:tongue:

I mean was just sitting in my room idling away thinking on when to study for the same old HR midterm tommorow and when to prepare for HR assignment which has been due for the last 15days and still,i have to begin..procastination and I have a long long relation you see..but then it all faded away in the feeling that you have sometimes donn we all have that...of being alone..no one to talk to..insecure of yourselve..i have been a big fan of ayn rand but as time progresses i am seeing that what she said if not impossible is next to impossible..i mean be what it is..It Is..!

This is my home over here at IMT,i mean i share each and every of my experiences over here at this place..and come to this place when ever i am have some extreme emotions,be it happiness or sadness..this thread has been my friend for so long now,that when i look back on posts of mine on this thread,even I am amazed at the myriad emotions that i have shared at this thread..well today also i am in an extreme sort of introspection mood,now what is this introspection all about,even i am not able to gauge it,but its like this..there has been this feeling of uneasiness from inside..like i am sure most of us have sometimes..that feeling when you know you are not feeling good..but it's hard to pin point that one exact reason cause there are so many to make you feel the way you are doing..similar is the case with me...there are myriad reasons for me to feel the way,I am feeling right now..but alas..can't write them all over here..cause then it will be too much of an overdoze for this space..but yea alas..........................some day i will not have a need to write my heart out at this place........someday...

Debate It!!!

Yups it was a debate competition at our campus yesterday and the topic for the debate was "is it the end of road for satyam?" and being a true satyamite i am,couldn't resist myself from being on the floor..!

We had to be in a team of two,one of us for the motion and the other against the motion,i was for the motion..and it was my first time experience of debating out loud..and quite a experience it was..!

I had prepared quite some matter for the event although mostly random thoughts and was a little nervous thinking that i would have to read from paper,took it along but the moment i reached dias,i just couldnt read it out,i mean i didn't feel like reading it out it was like complete black out,like darsheel from TZP..words on my paper started acting strange...:confused:

and I was like Ok..so u wana play..chuck it..I will do it the other way around..!

took a deep breath and spoke my heart out not the paper..:D

It went well with audience appreciating it at the end of it..and yea asking me some realy good questions being the satyamite that i am..but alas i didn't win...!

But Never Mind..Someday I Will!!!

I would like to take this occassion to thank my team mate for pushing me to the limits,if not for you,I surely would not have been able to reach the event in time,prepare my matter and yes speak my heart out.:D

Under the motivational leadership of our respected Director, Dr.Farhad and Professor Mohan Agarwal, we are launching a forum 'Extra Wisdom', inviting guest speakers to supplement our class room learning and experiences.

Our first Extra Wisdom Speaker' is Ms. Mehvish Razvi, senior editor of Campus Journal. She will interact with the class of Integrated Marketing Communication course on Sunday, Feb 22nd, 2009 at 1900hrs.

She expects to cover her every day excitements, challenges and work experiences in an essentially deadline centric knowledge industry and advise our young marketing MBAs how to benefit from the immense power of news medium for more effective advertising and public relations.

The next speaker under the forum of 'Extra Wisdom' is Mr. Thomas Kuruvilla Managing Director, Arthur D. Little Middle East Ltd, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. His talk is scheduled for Thursday March 5th at 7pm.

It is said that solid foundations are required for any good structure to rise up and that is what exactly happened today with the first cultural fest at IMT-Vaudeville, you could see it in everybody eyes, that spark when you know something good is going to happen, when you know that you are here to witness history and you will be part of history, today was the day that the excitement at our campus came alive and reached its zenith, be it then in the dance of our very own Monark a.k.a hrithik or in the song of Danny that ever so beautiful IMT, Dubai theme song that we all love to sing out loud, there was an air of expectation and excitement around and vaudeville lived upto to it.
The event was inaugurated by our very own Abhilasha madam, who gracefully welcomed the distinguished audience to the event, and quite a distinguished audience we had apart from the current students of IMT, there were senior students from the first batch and people from corporate world who had come up for the event and were even gracious enough to judge some events for us, with this the eager and enthusiastic audience in place the stage was set for one rocking night, and a rocking night it was, the night was kick started by the IMT theme song which really got the people moving and singing, but it was just an curtain raiser to what was to follow, and that was the amazing fashion show which enthralled the audience not only by the pretty faces it had but also by the concept on which it was based on which left the audience in awe.
The awe which prevailed over the audience after the amazing fashion show was lifted over soon, with the melodious voices of the singers in the singing competition which followed, the romantic numbers that ranged from old songs to the current chart busters made the audience sing there heart out loud, just another small token of appreciation to the quality of singers that were present at vaudeville, now with singers having set the air all soft and romantic, there was an urgent requirement for some one to come along and lighten the mood and guess what vaudeville had just the right event for this and that was "Ad mad" where students put in stand up comedy acts to advertise some really insane products which ranged from a "lie detecting robot" to a world famous "lungi"! But the act that really bought a laugh riot among the audience was the one depicting the agony of getting into an MBA college, what really made it click was its connection with the audience and some really witty lines which kept audience asking for more.
Then just as the audience was asking what's next? And can it even match the expectations set by all the events that have preceded it, came on stage the dancers of IMT with there style, skills and beautifully choreographed dance performances they bought the stage alive and audience on there feet.
They say that the best is always left for the last and same was the case at vaudeville, with the audience shouting out loud came on stage the rock band for which all had been waiting for: "BORISON IVY" and as the things were, it just needed a spark to set the stage on fire and the band did just that, with the audience on its feet and the live rock music flowing through the air it bought about a warmth in the cold February night at IMT.
But as all good things must come to an end and so had to vaudeville, but as it ended everybody had only one thought in mind that what was done today was one good event, and to have planned and executed such a great event in such a short notice proved that we at IMT are capable of doing anything which we set our eyes on to, all the people involved in vaudeville have done a terrific job and deserve all the accolades be it then the participants who put in long hours in night or the organizers who put in there all to make this event a grand success it was, I would like to end by saying the line which I had started with "this is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end, but it is perhaps the end of the beginning." ,I am sure what we have done today has only laid the foundations for generations of IMT students to carry forward.

Just a little story for all of my fellow puys,i dont have an off from my store today and being the last couple of days of DSF promotion,i was thinkin that i wont take an off from office today and will miss the event..

but guess,just as i woke up today and went downstairs,i saw the rock band guys planting there speakers,putting up stage..and at that very moment my heart said..chuck it Ankur..there is no way on earth you can go to office today..it was decided there and then...come what may be..I am attending this rocking performance today..!!

I got one of the missing traits today in my life..but before i go to that i guess i should apologize to my readers for the emphasis being shifted away for sometime from pure IMT experiences to the much varied experiences that i have been having over here at Dubai,but having said that i think its ok for me to once in a while share with all of you,some of the lessons that life teaches me as i move along this MBA maze.:D

Well,what i am going to write may sound a bit silly to majority of you but still this insignificant incident has given me so much selfrealization that i will rember this for rest of my life,now before you all start running your neurons multidimensionaly...i guess it would be better if i would tell you what really happened today..

Well,I was at my samsung counter doing samsung sales,and there is this team lead of mine who was there next to me,when all of a sudden he asks for my pen for writing,now my natural reaction was to give him the pen,but after he had done thru his writing,he said Ankur buddy i like this pen,and i am going to keep it,and i was like...'no you dont!',it came out naturally,now to tell you in brief about this pen,this is quite an old reynolds jetter pen,which has already weared out a lot but still its my favourite pen,no matter how old it is..i like it and cant imagine giving it to somebody else.

That was when i realized how attached i was to things that i value,maybe others think i am silly but once it has a value in my life,i can do anything for it,i am sure most of us are that way but this was just to show you how small a thing as this help me realize one my most imporatnt traits,the missing link that i was looking for..!

As for my team lead,i have promised to get him a new pen..!(Simple use of barter system you see!)

You Said it and i can really feel the gyaan oozzing thru my veins...but yeah last few days have been really a learning experience for me..

Started with my Samsung Marketing Project today had a days training where we were all stuffed with the gyaan related to samsung products that we would have to market during the dubai shopping festival starting from tommorow..real tiring day...can feel sleepy already...will write more as and when it comes up..but all i can say marketing is not an easy job..!!

Cant tell you how much i relate to that last tiny little post.

You seem to have been going through the "Gyaan Giving" phase...

It comes unannounced in the second term...when u feel you are about to attain nirwana...and though u did a trashpot job on the ops paper, u have cracked the meaning of life itself....

Abra,Bur and Dera!!:D

At the outset I would like to declare,I am not a good traveller,well its not that i dont like to travel,its just that i need to have people along with me who have kind of a same frequency as me,for me to have fun and fortunately this time around i had exactly the same people with me.

With it being Sem break,we have got some free time for ourselves..:D,so we decided to make the most of it by visiting the city i.e. Bur Dubai(the central shopping district part of Old dubai area!) and Dera,now with taxi being costly,the only option left to us our gud old bus no 330(Linking us to international City!) and the famed X-23(linking IC to BD!),fortunately for us we didnt have to wait long and were at the creek @ Bur dubai in about 90 Mins..!:D

Now,Creek is a beautiful water body,which separates Bur Dubai from Dera,both very good,cosmoplolitan old city centers,now the fun part is that we had to go over to dera and for us to do that we had to cross the creek on small boats know as ABRA..!,Abra are small boats which seat around 20 people and get people acoss the creek in only 1 Dirham(13.30 INR),which makes for a really cost effective means of transprotation,but what really makes the journey amazing is the beautiful beautiful views from the Abra,I mean just to see the amazing dubai skyline from the abra,with cool wind blowing in ur face..its just something for which i dont have words you have to be there to feel it,i loved it,even though it was only a 5 min journey,it was one of the most happy ones since i have been here @dubai.:D

We returned back to Bur dubai after our abra xperience,roamed around Bur dubai Market,had dinner and returned back to the campus by our good old number buses..!:D

An end of a good day!!

P.S->I have got a one month marketing assignment with samsung @ Dubai Shopping Festival,so any of the puys coming up to DSS may please let me know.

Noddy- So,Ankur..I see you are not doing anything constructive lately and as they say an empty mind is a devils workshop,why dont i help you in moving your neurons a bit and why dont u help me in sorting out some very important questions that i have after seeing people going about your planet earth,it would be of mutual benefit to us both,wouldnt it..?

Well,its not very often that i feel to write about something from my heart and can feel the urgency to pen it down as soon as possible,i guess the last time i felt the same was after my birthday chronicle and today i have the same feeling but there is a difference last time around i had a very subjective and tangible topic to talk about,but this time around the topic is not so tangible and may be a bit philosophical too...!

I have always been in awe of one writer and she is 'Ayn Rand',ever since the day i picked up her book 'fountainhead',I have not been able to take her ideas out of my mind and even if I am not half as talented and gifted as Howard Roark,i have always looked upon him as the person with principles,and have always tried to live my life on the same principles of integrity and acheivement,although i must admit that i have not been able to acheive anything substantial in 25 years of my existence but still watever i do i have her writings in my mind automatically,its not i think of her everytime,its just that her principles have become a part of me.

And today as i write this,there is this one saying of her that is coming to my mind and that is:

"The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody has decided not to see!"

and whatever you do afterthat to explain it wont be of any use,the collective power of passing judgement by majority is so strong that you just cant overcome it,do watever you may but you cant change a thing.
