In another initiative to provide global exposure to its students, FIIB in collaboration with the Walton College of Business (WCoB), USA planned a two day exchange program between the students of FIIB and WCoB where the students got an opportunity to study and experience each other's culture and economy. They participated in several exciting events like the 'Amazing Race'- a race that took them to various parts of the city and lectures on Indian Economy and International Management by Mr. Manish Kheterpal (Chairman, FIIB) and Dr. Alan E. I have completed one year at FIIB (2012-2014 batch). I have gained a lot in this institute. I want to thank all the Professors who always says that, " There is no Right or Wrong in Business and Management. It depends on how you analyse the situation and how you react on it." As know that all individuals are different with certain qualities so, we need to develop it to rise high in life. Jaagriti club (social conscious club) has joined hands with Chintan-an environmental research and action group to reduce E-Waste. E-Waste is one of the evils of modernization and is toxic. It pollutes the environment and the society.

As a responsible citizen we must give our E-Waste to authorized collectors for recycling. Jaagriti club is organizing a week long drive at the FIIB campus.

Mr. Kartik Raina
Mr. Raina, an MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, specializes in sales and marketing and has 35 years of experience working in the FMCG sector. During his career he has assumed varied roles - He was the head of All India Sales as well as Country Manager, Bangladesh for Smith Kline Beecham (now GlaxoSmithKline). During his tenure at GSK, he headed the Sales Training function in India, as also training faculty for 9 countries. He is Ex – CEO of Dabur’s Foods business, where he conceived and launched Real Fruit Juice and was also Managing Director of CPC (Unilever Bestfoods) for Sri Lanka and Maldives. Since 2005 he is running his own training and consulting firm called Learning Facilitators. Kartik is also a visiting faculty at various management schools.

FIIB's Entrepreneurship Cell, Udaan successfully hosted Meraki, The Annual Pan India B Plan Competition on 15th March 2013. After hundreds of plans that were received and scanned by our pool of judges, top 10 teams presented their plans after which the results were announced on 16th March. Winners receive fellowships worth Rs 1,00,000, Rs 75,000 and Rs 60,000 respectively. The winners are as follows

Emerging Trends in Entrepreneurship
Starting a new business is an attempt to address a demand in an economically viable manner. It is also well understood that a demand may not be satisfied by a single organization. Given the diverse demographic strata in the markets, several organizations strive to address the demand for a given good. Therefore, it can be said that a demand would have entrepreneurial ventures clustered around it.
Naturally, if the demand for a product and/or service is recent and large enough, the cluster of organizations would grow faster; displaying a trend in the type of entrepreneurial ventures. To exemplify, let us consider the emergence of social technologies. The need to interact is perhaps the most basic social need of a human being. Yet, this need earlier was confined to one to one communications (for example, through emails) or personal interactions. The so-called social media has provided platforms that allow users to communicate with the most distance audiences in an efficient manner. We today see a horde of social media platforms that look to engage users.
Unfortunately, the success of early exploiters like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn remains unrivaled The point is that it is not enough to spot an unmet demand. It is equally important to develop an economically viable way to exploit it.
Most venture capitalists are often interested in riding the success by funding start-ups that look to leverage a new demand. It is therefore important for a budding entrepreneur to anticipate such demand trends. In this panel, by allowing the audience to engage with the venture capitalists, we hope that entrepreneurs can identify emergent trends that could be potentially exploited through innovative business models
