I am Baawri, one of the applicants of PGDBA Batch2007-2009. I am short-listed for GD-PI on the basis of my CAT score 75 Percentile. I wont be attending the GD-PI because of the inappropriate date which clash with my Graduation Final Year's Exams:neutral: . Needless to mention that I am making the task easier for someone . But I can assure you that the college is very good as far as my reasearch goes for it. I consulted it from some Professor in a reputed managemnet institute and he said that IPMG is going to get all that in next two year what MICA earned in the last ten years:wow: .This is amazing. So a boom is on the cards for I.P.M.G. I.P.M.G. rocks

Hey why dont you talk to college authority so that ur GDPI might be schedule on other day which wont be clashing with ur exam.... So that u could make it up.....

It was good.. GD i did very well, PI was better but not as good as GD. Finally happy to see myself here....

Not necessary but its better if you prepare in it as that would help in GDPI.

for your first question,i would like to say that it is necessary to basic knowledge of oil and gas,though not very much into oil and gas. they will generally ask u abt OPEC in interview ,and basic information other oil and gas companies.
for the second, our preparations fr summer internships are going on,there is a positive reply frm all the prospective employers.well,abt avg salary,i cant really say as i am nt a clarivoyant.BUt u will get your worth.:satisfie:

hey buddy, just saw that you are from kolkatta... So just thought to tell you more that we have 2-3 guys from kolkatta too.

Seats: No its going to be 60.

Reservation: Its as per government norms, i.e 15% but not sure whether its for domiciled candidates or for reserved catagory, but yeh in our batch we have 18 canditates from Gujarat.

Well Oil and Gas sector is very big. And you can move from one industry to another after having few year of experience so their is no as such forced to work in this sector throughout the life.

Hi....i've heard a lot about the booming petroleum industry and also about the acute shortage of professionals in the field. In fact recently a friend of mine got a call to work at Petronas (yes the tallest buildings in the world) at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a whopping eye-popping salary.

BUT, he was a petroleum engineer, from the dhanbad school of mines.

I'm a telecom graduate and want to know if i can get into this college with absolutely ZERO knowledge of oil and gas and petroleum.

Yeh what you said is correct, Its a booming sector with shortage of professionals.

Well you can get into IPMG without knowledge on petroleum, but you need to clear gdpi and CAT as said.

Even I am from BMS background but got the admission and their are few other people in my class who are from BBA, Bcom, Bsc and one from Zeology.

It was through PMAT(Petroleum Management Apptitude Test) but from 2007 it will be through CAT..So cant say about cuttoff.

tdy we had mr sahai from IOCL...as a guest lecturer ..a sr manager (strategic management) and an XLRI grad....with 18 yrs of experience at IOCL

it was amazing to observe the changing dynamics of the energy sector - specially the gr8 reversal of demand/supply curve post 2001-02 liberisation of the sector in terms of price controll dismantalation....he stressed tht petrochemical is a sector with high potential....evn higher thn retail !!!
