I am trying to reproduce my answers to some questions here, hoping they'll be us...
What actually matters to me is the package offered...however i want to pursue a career in HR because i see myself compatible with the former, but i have heard that sectors like marketing,finance etc provide better compensation compared to HR...what should be the right choice provided i want a max...

@Red_Bull Thank u ..
@LAVINA If possible get hold of "HR champion" and "HR value proposition" by Dave Ulrich. These two are some of the best books for HR and Dave ulrich is considered to be one of the most influential person in HR. I guess these two books are also available as pdfs but you need to google them :)
@young_monk Thank you .. !!!

I think it's very difficult for us to even imagine and understand what went so wrong that it turned out to that level of rage and violence.

What makes a Suzuki, a Suzuki or an Amazon an Amazon is the core principles that drive their operations. They are successful in first place because of these. @youngmonk I completely agree with your point of view. The intention was not to compare the salary of the CEO with that of the workers. The point that I was trying to make was that when a CEO can get more than 400% rise on an already existing base which is in crores, why can't a company afford to...

Some points I want to stress-Comparing with CEO's pay is not a good argument, There is no connect between CEO's matrices & that of workers. Supply/Demand and compa-ratios are different. Better comparison would be with same class/skill set of workers in same area. Wage level can't indirectly compu...

Indian HR Professionals are present all over the world in the best of the organizations in the best of the roles....but let €™s also appreciate the fact that HR is somewhat society/culture related, so one needs to understand the social fabric closely before donning an HR role in a foreign land

My query is regarding PGDM V/s MMS. Many ppl say tht one of the reasons for choosing MMS over PGDM is tht if u want to opt for further studies like Phd then u need MMS as its a degree. So if u have a PGDM are we not allowed to pursue further education ?

I think opting for a new IIM is a risk in itself, as you never know how all things go forward. So taking up HR in a new IIM has the same risks as in taking up any other specialization.

If you are from a good B-school (read XLRI, IIMABCL*), you straight away get live client projects. Within first year of joining most of them get onsite opportunities. One of the big-4 even sent interns from my college to onsite.
