My 2 cents on method for solving the above question

as per info given A an B can do half the work in 4 hrs i.e. whole work will take 8 hrs.Also A and C did remaining half the work in 1 hr i.e. whole work wud be done in 2 hrs.

Assume no. of units of work done to be 96 units
So A+B = 12 units/hr(96/ , also ratio of work done b/w A and B is 3:1
so A= 9 units/hr and B=3 units/hr

Also A+C = 48 units/hr(96/2)
therefore C's does 39 units/hr( A+C-A i.e 48-9)

No of hrs taken by C alone = 96/39 = 32/13
No need to use variables and equations!!

width doesn't matter, the rate of burning is given as a function of length only, considering their width is same throughout.Think sbout it.

as for questions

1.let dimentions of rectangle = a,b,h

given, 4(a+b+h) = 112 => a+b+h = 28

also, 2(ab+bh+ha) = 384.

let diameter of circle = d

therefore, d^2 = a^2+b^2+h^
=28x28 - 384
= 400
=> r = 10.


2.ar. of trepezium = 1/2*(sum of parallel sides)*distance between parallel sides

=> a = 1/2*(4.4+1.6)*26 = 78

volume = ares*thickness\width\height = 78*10 = 780

My method for above prblm

C.I is 5% p.a i.e. for 2 yrs it wud be 10.25%(5+5+(5*5/100))

now C.I = 102.5 i.e 10.25% of principal(P)

therefore if 102.5 is 10.25% then what is 100%

P = (102.5/10.25)*100= 1000

Now calculate CI at 4% p.a for 2 yrs on 1000. It comes to 81.6
No need to use variable and equations!!

I know ppl who got screwed must be feeling highly dejected.....just one wrong bubbling did the whole thing....
nxt time onwards make sure wt u are filling check atleast two time wht u have entered coz these sarkari ppl dnt think before cancelling the answer sheets...machine me daala read nahi kiya toh cancel....so plz plz follow the instructions and even if invigilators are there to assist u dont depend on them as they are just there to make sure the test is smoothly run and it is expected that they dont know anything bt the details or the info that u need to furnish on the answer sheet...everything needs to be furnished properly and it is clearly mentioned on the instruction booklet or on back of the admit card....

having said that still there are instances when ppl are fooled by some unavoidable circumstances or extreme back luck....toh yaar we dnt have control over that....out of 40k who have been rejected it was expected that roughly around 1-2k make it to the next round....so really really a misfortunate...SSC should learn frm such instances and why the hell u have to usse such codes where there might be ambiguity between O and 0...
itne numbers and alphabets hai duniya me unhe aisi hi ek number mila kya....simple coding honi chahiye....AB 01, AB 02, or CD 01, CD 02...
why the hell they want such codes....

yar dekho galti kisi se bhi ho sakti hai,,last time i prepared hard even more than this time,,i attempted 170 around qs correct,bt when i heared 5 min bell,i quickly started to dark bubbles, i missed half of maths & all english question to attempt, i got 89 marks,,with 21 in maths & 0 in english,,got disappointed as invigilators didnt gve me even 5 min more, this time i didnt prepare for this , may be i got 105 marks,i m cleared for tier 2 , but with less score,

aur islie khud ko bhi dhyan rakhna chahie ki kya roll no likh rhe ho,,sbse bdi bat ye hai,ki mana call letter pe galat no likha hai,pr sbke sb jo aapki class me the wo is wajah se fail nhi hue,i m surprised how you reached at right seat right room after seeing sitting arrangement which was adhered at exam center,shows correct roll no's,,do not blame others,,even when you r not careful

In passive voice sentences you are at liberty whether or not to mention the doer of the action if the doer can be easily identified.That is, "The thief was arrested by the police" mentions the doer of the action(Police).
In case of "The thief was arrested" , the doer of the action can only be the police as they only have the authority to arrest anyone. The second question carries the same explanation
Another example:The window was broken(by somebody)

for 300-366
3 occurs 67 times more hence 900+3*67=1101
so the sum of all the digits is 900+1000+1100+1101=4101
