Companies like DCB, Angel Broking, BOB, RBI, Religare, SMC, L& T Finance, SBI General INsurance and many more have already recruited students.

The summer internship process are still going on, and we expect other Banks and Financial Sector Firms to walk in.

Most of them have offered stipend, which due to privacy reason could not be disclosed.
And the profiles offered are in Finance , Marketing and even Research and Analysis.

I guess I have covered everything .

Ya,
SSBM is located at Lavale only.
And u have to find out some hotels in the city,

I would soon update the names of the hotels which would be cheaper and suit u all guys!!

As more and more people are getting keen to know about the profiles and placements being offered.
There ought to come some response from seniors.

I guess there are posts regarding change of dates for an interview!!
There is no such provision of change in dates of the GE/PI.

So, u all have to be present at least half an hour prior to the start of the process.
Formal dress code is mandatory.

Formal dress for guys would include, Formal trouser, shirts, tie or a buiseness suit.
For gals:- Saree, Buiseness suits, or Formal salwaar -kameez, but they should be decent !!

I hope the word DECENT is understood by both the sexes.

The ratio of students to be selcted would be approx. 12:1.
So, the process is not a simple one!!

I have got a call from ssbm
As u being from the first batch I would like to know any rough ideas about the placements which u guys would get...
i know this is the q for urself as well but i have other calls too like sitm and siom

and i am kind of a marketing guy
so i would prefer going for ssbm if the placements turns out to be above 5.5 or so roughly...

What i dont want at the end of 2 yrs is low placement on top of it non interest in banks...

Do banks sector provide marketing in bfsi sector or financial sector as well at ur institute....


Please give me the real picture...

Now this is scaring me, after such a long wait and grilling..I got a call.

I have another interview in Bangalore the same day 2Feb2011.
How could one attend 2 interviews in one day at difference location...!!

No issues as far as marksheets are concerned!!
But you should carry the previous years marksheets and attest them.

Also, make sure you get ur originals done at the time of taking admission.

This is a pre concieved notion students usually have.
It is never the same. If a student who speaks say after 3 people have spoken with a genuine , valid point, he will be given a weightage.

So, don't try to jump in the pool , just because, u will be noticed!!

Congrats!!
U can start with going the websites of RBI, BSE, NSE, and try to know what are the basics and the current data of India's GDP, NDP, Inflation rates and bank rates!

Also, focus on Current topics and advancements in banking industry.

Like there ws a reshufflement of Cabinet ministry.
Try to know why and whats the present scenerio.

These topics are a must to read and know!!

Hey,

The GD last year was based on different topics.
The topics were both general and from financial markets.
There were topics like Sub prime crisis, Role of GDP and NDP in Indian's economy and many more.

I will suggest you guys some things:-

1. Be prepared to get topics on Economics and Indian Banking Industry.
2. The GD will be content based, so try to be strong on facts while u speak.
3. The Group activity which u guys have might include Case study or Problem solving techniques!!
Read through the scams and the practice case studies!!

4. Also, the intake ratio is 12: 1. So, this approximately means every GD would eventually result in A leader only.

Regarding the PI:-

1. Questions were asked on Finance sector.
2. Also, if u are working , u will be asked to justify that and questions on that industry.
3. We were asked to bring in one page CV, and were interviewed on that even. So write sensibly in ur CV's.
4. Do not try to give some pre made answers, like why banking ? etc..

I hope this might clarify ur thoughts..

I will try to try and arrange some topics for u guys to study!!
Give me some more time!!
