The thing is XLRI is expensive with 13.5 lakhs. I also have a terrible profile with what amounts to a gap of 3 years(since I am not taking part time work ex into account). No significant extracurricular. The question then is Will I get placed? Leaving a PSU job which while not a very good profile is still a certainty. My brother who is recently married will be funding his wife's MS degree which places an additional burden on my family.

Buddy

XLRI is a great college and you will get placed for sure. If not the top consulting firms, you will still bag a very decent job. Also, your record in XL for 2 years will also matter at the time of placements, so you can work on it as it is still in your hand. :) Also, you have good 10th and 12th marks, just grad marks wont keep you away from good jobs except few consulting offers ( that too only if you are not among top 10% in XL )

Also, instead of taking hit of 13lk on your family, take loan and pay it off after getting placed. You will easily get the loan being XL admit.

I respect all the feelings and thoughts mentioned by you and salute you for being open enough to share them with us here ! Your XL convert wont go waste and the brand will help you in building a strong career as well as share things to help your family nurture even better. :)

All the best buddy!
But but but, I lack that motivation. I dont have any group. I am wasting days by just reading news/articles on TOI website.

Buddy

This is the place to be when you lack in motivation and/or study group. I too didnt had any study group when i started off, registered in PG and got an amazing study group as well as people who are sources of continuous motivation.

You know all the things and are clear what you dont want to do or compromise. It forms the basis of achieving what we actually desire , so buckle up, start putting efforts in right direction, become active on Preparation related threads on PG, be the part of study group of your city here at PG and prepare well. All shall fall your way automatically, just keep up the self confidence and sustained efforts.

All the best!
