I am a Btech(IT) 2010 passout. Since then i am doing job in a software company but now i am fed up with the lifestyle of a SE.

I am planning to quit my job and start preparing for PSU exams.

I have joined made-easy's weekend batch and planning to prepare for gate 2013 with the job and will leave my job next year for full time preparation if i got a good gate score.

Can you guys please guide me if this is the right decision for me or not.

Because i am lil worried about the number of vacancies for the Btech IT students.( they are very less)

Any other suggestions are welcome.

Looking at the ONGC advt, there are 4 openings for MBAs

15. Transport

16. Finance and Accounts

17. HR

18. Material Management

My doubts are:

1. What will be the worlk profile in Transport

2. They have asked MBA with specialization in Material Management/Inventory Control. I have done my M.B.A. from IIFT and in my College, specialisation is determined by the no. of electives you take in the Final Year. There is no certificate given for the specialisation. How to deal with this?

3. In the entrance Exam tehre will be Three Papers, general Awareness, Aptitude Test and Subject Knowledge.

I have not given exam before in which MBAs have to appear for the paper of the subject knowledge. If any one of you have experience of any such papers in which our Core Subjects like Finance, Marketing or operation are judged then please share your experience.

Rush up Most of the PSU's upper age limit is 28 .............U have oly one year for cracking PSU

I am working for a MNC for past 1 year. I love my work and I am getting a lot of attention. I know after 6-7 years I can be in a managerial position. Lots of stuff to add value are also possible in this 6-7 years (MBA,PMP, switching ).

Now , I am looking at the PSU job notification and am getting tempted by the starting salary they offer( almost double of my current salary). If I join a PSU , what will be the picture like after 5-6/7 years? How often does the increments happen in public sector?

A comparision between a person with 6 yrs of IT exp and 6 yrs of PSU exp would be good (in terms of money and further growth prospects). Thanks a ton . You might have changed a life today..

Any one knows if the Sail mt exam which is going to held on 17 june, applicable for 2013 batch ?
Also usually Sail MT happens in september ..will der be two exams this year ?

Long time its been I am posting here


1).Ur chances are good in PSU being an elec engineer as they have many vacancies for u in the lot.

2).Yes after MBA u r eligible but u shld meet the age criteria and bel me post MBA the profile in PSU is what u can aspire after 5-6 yrs in an PSU if u go by engg

3). MT are also offered to engg grads like SAIL
