I have one query relating to Bank PO.
I graduated from Delhi University in August 2008 and after that gave various exams for MBA. Though I got admissions in various MAT affiliated colleges, but my aim was to get into top B-Schools. I tried for various clerical jobs in banks and got job in State bank of patiala as clerk but did not join as the salary was very less. Presently I am working in Delhi High COurt as a clerk and earning somwhere near 15000 per month. I still do not know whether not joining State bank of patiala was a mistake or not. I desperatly wanted to join it but parents suggested that i should go for clerical job in delhi high court as pay is still respect.
I do not have any other qualifications except a computer diploma from NIIT. My tryst with PO exams is very poor as I have till date cleared only one PO exam i.e. ICICI:shocked::shocked: but i am not hopeful about gd/pi. Allahabad bank also seems out of focus as at present i am down with soar throat and bad health. I somtime feel that even if I clear entrace exam of PO, still I am at loss in comparison to other students and may not get selected as I have no additional qualification. Engineers have professional qualification and I have just graduation with 70 %. Am I losing out completely due to poor qualifications.
Really disappointed kindly guide.

Also as the last date is near....i hv no other option but to send it thru courier....will it get rejected....someone help...

well yaar u should have send the application a couple of days back.....u cant rely on indian postal service...can u?

u can send the courier to a frnd in mumbai ASAP...and tell him to post this letter in that post box personally...I did ths for one of my exam in recent past...its worth a try....my application was accepted on the last day...

From my experience:
If written is there then if we sent document without attested from gazated officer else we do self attested then the form is not rejected. They will check it in interview time(If they ask for attested but not specified clearly said it to attested from gazatted officer)...................

But if it is direct interview then gazatted officer attested is must(If they ask for attested)...............

Ravi Bhai aap to senti ho gaye yaar PD aur BSC ke liye..Indeed they are the building block study materials for success in any PO but it lot depends upon you as a person how u study and derive from it..

yup u r right,i also got selected as a PO in central bank of india and its just coz of PD and BSC publication.....i too love PD a lot..its more than enough for PO bt read it with full concentration and read atleast 4 months PD before appearing for ny PO xam

I agree with u guys....Its very easy to say that this book is not good or that book is not good...the point is select a book which best suits u....
1-2 good book will suffice....if u know something very well then why the hell u wud waste time on doing that thing again and again....
u should spend time on that thing in which u lack...u make ur quant and reasoning very good bt unable to perform in GK...then whats the point...??

u will get material of all sorts bt why dug deep into something which will fetch u less return...rather make a good strategy and work accordingly....
kam bhi padoge bt sincerely padoge toh bhi u can clear the cut offs....

I think u are talking about SBI's PO..........yes they are asking 12th & graduation both.......

So find if u have any optional subject in 12th and then calculate % if the % is >= 60 % then u r eligible.......

If not then don't dishearten as u r eligible for all bank POs (including Indian overseas - IOB ask 65% in graduation) except sbi this yr.......

Mostly graduation is considered when it comes to eligibility criteria. If it has mentioned graduation then only graduation is considered.

Yes your application wud be rejected.....

Now onwards,always remember...all PSBs & PSUs strictly follow guidlines they specified in their advertisements............

And most of the applicants who will clear the sbi's phase-I may face rejection due to submission of wrong info in application.....this time % calculation has changed for sbi eligibility and i have talked to some applicants and they have filled the form without knowing the % calculation criteria.......and SBI is very strict........last time they have rejected a girl for interview as her graduation's result was announced only ONE day later of specified date of eligibilty criteria.............

so take appropriate precautions..........

1. An ideal book for preparation should emphasize on quality rather than quantity. My friends who have gone through EZFunda materials can suggest here that they have a good collection, variety of questions and more concepts and shortcuts compared to any other book.


2. They have uploaded a sample material for free download for anyone to look at, the first institute I've seen to take this approach.


3. These books come with online assistance, that is if you don't understand anything you can contact their faculties for doubt removal through emails and chats, which is so far a unique feature.


4. EZFunda tests are analysed deeply and they give you an overall assessment including time taken to solve each question. In this way you come to know where you are wasting your time in the exams (sometime you don't realize it yourself)


5. Last but not the least they give you a strategy lesson at the beginning of every chapter, so that you can plan for the exam beforehand. You know where to devote your time, what questions to attempt and how to complete preparation in time.


BSC and other books are favourites because they are old and endorsed by booksellers, obviously because they earn profit from these books. But it's upto you whether you want to depend on booksellers for your career decisions on take these decisions on your own by examining various options. Please correct me if I'm wrong. books i can recommend for quants is ..Quantitative aptitude by abhijit guha (tmh ),Quantitative aptitude for the cat by Arun sharma :the percentage concepts given in this book is very useful for po exams also you can solve most of Tyara book by just using % concept of Arun sharma ,Objective english by Hari Mohan Prasad and magical book series on reasoning by bsc publication this is more than enough for any objective test be it po or mba also do practice previous po papers 70% of quant problems do get repeated everytime.

u dont receive the questionnaire.........the link will be in the mail u receive which informs u abt ur GD/PI date

yes eng is only qualifiying....not only in alld bank bt in all bank po exams and ideal no of attempt to qualify the paper is 27-30 with 90% accuracy

vich was held on 24.02.10..anybody who appeared for it frm lko??

exam was on 24.01.10 .... can expect the result in march

BSC is also offering some kind of test series at many centres.It would only make sense to appear for these tests if many people are appearing(so that we have a fair idea),and if they declare results soon enough(within a week or so before the next test) so that one can evaluate himself.

Is anybody here enrolled or has any idea about these tests?And, can we appear for single tests?
