thnkz a lottt .uv been a gr8 help. well i was talkin of usa 4 a regular course n not 4 a distance learning.
By the way, I know you dont want to do a part time course in US. What I was trying to say is that if you are studying there, you can always explain that by taking up another course or credit over the period of your degree tenure, you are trying to make up for the 16th year of education. Their system is not rigid in these matters like ours. But that should be beside the point. If you are trying to attempt for CAT this time around, I would suggest you take up the Filler course immediately.
anoder query is dat is sumtimes a specilised degree in 2 fields considered a bar since it is like u dont no the field u want 2 get in.i mean a person can be interested in 2 fields .like finance mktng or nything.when he has specialised in both the problems is there somethin that goes against him.
also idf a person wants to change tracks then he can switch to the other specialisation or even work in tandem in both fields.ithink i havnt xplained this very well.i hope u get wat im trying to say.
Okay Vishal,
Lets attemp to solve your second dilemma.
I know that this can be a problem in some institutes. But this will entirely depend on you!!! The way you position it is the key. They will instinctively feel that this was done as a filler course, and no doubt it was!! But, and that's why i said choose a field of your interest, the manner in which you explain the details of the course should eradicate all their doubts.
See. Put yourself in their shoes. They see 1000 applicants each week or so. They knw what is real and what is fake. I am rajat, and I go to the admission commite and try to fumble and mumble my way out of an uneasy situation, cause I never was interested in the damn course to begin with.
Now you, Vishal, goes in. He explains that while a basic bachelor's degree was a must, he went in with an extra year of education to satiate his appetite for something he has been fascinated by since childhood. So probably you were really really fascinated by photography, and took a year diploma on it and learnt a TON!! When you are interested ina subject, its really funny how time seems to swish by. When you talk on this subject, you will MAKE THEM FEEL that its a passion that you are well versed with.
Please do not make this course as another opportunity to do finance or marketing. I know photography might not be right, but you could definitely pursue environment, phsychology, ecology, etc...
END - You need to be carefree and joyful when actually explaining to someone what you did for the filler year. Trust me, nowadays, ADCOMS have realised that being different is not a stigma. Its now a gold mine and you need to excavate the damn thing!!!
All the best dude.....

About working in the two fields, remember, something that you learn, will never ever ditch you. It will be useful sometime somewhere when you least expected it. E.g. - You learnt photography, for years you reaped no benefit. Ultimately, you're 35, go to a meeting for some upcoming technology. You find that the CEO of another company is just as avid a fan of photography as you. And he sees your passion for things you love and BAM!!! GOLDEN MINE just burst open!!!
PS - Umexpected Things happen when least expected!!! Rajat's LAW!!!:D
