Hi,
I am aspiring to join a top ranking institute for a 1 yr executive PGP in the batch of 2013. I am looking at joining only if I get through into any of the following institutes,
IIM-A
IIM-B
ISB
IIM-C
IIM-I
XLRI
I am currently having 9.2 yrs of exp and will have 9yr and 11 month if I continue to work till March'12.
Currently Desg: Regional Sales Manager at American Express
Exp in current company: 4.4 yrs as on date
Role: Channel Head - New Account acquisition of Consumer card customers for Chennai region(successor of a person who was the president of ISB 2006 batch in this role)
Some achievements:
Cricket captain for the company's regional team and also an active divisional player
Youngest Channel Head ever since the inception of the business unit
Have done a lot of work for tsunami Victims' families' up-liftment via State govmt projects
Have been the core trainer for over 23 corporate training programs in my previous company- NIS Sparta( Asia's largest corporate training company)
Have trained a batch of 16 people from General Motors, designated state heads and above as my first training program with a participant satisfaction of 87%.
Awarded 'turn around King' title during annual company awards function by the president and CEO Amex for the region's sales performance in 2011 after my promotion from Channel manager to Channel head.
Have been preparing for over a month and my last 2 scores are 640 and 650 on mock GMAT tests, looking to book a date in the first week of August and I am positive of scoring 680 or above on the real test.
I might be promoted by January(855 chances) to a Zonal Manager level in the company ( next level to Director). I am currently earning 13.5 lacs and with the promotion might go to 18 lacs+.
Can someone care to discuss my decision to take a break and go back to academics?
Will I be able to see the change in CTC ( 1.7 - 2.5 times) like the institutes claim if I were to finish the course in any of these institutes?
Will it be too high an opportunity cost?
Considering the last date of submission of application for IIM-A is 10 August, should I book a date before the 6th of August which might give me 4 dates to invest in my application filing process?
