can't really give the exact dates about the written result declaration date but as per the schedule I have recieved interview rounds start frm 24th of may....so possibly a week before that.....u can expect the results to be declared of the written round

I appeared for CCAP on 2 May,2010.
The VA was a bit tuff
DI was very simple
and QA was a bit tuff
I could see some of the question in QA directly picke for old CAT papers, they didnt even change the values too.

Tips - In VA, not all the passage questions are not given serially.
And once any option marked it can changed but not unmarked.

Overall the UI was simple and the process was without any technical hiccups

Puys, just relax ... if someone has been sent an email with an ID and password, it means he can go ahead and register for the test. If you havent got it, just wait for the email to come. Don't go to the website and keep trying it .. it will be of no use .. as the website database might not even have your id (as yet).

If you have got an email, and still facing issues, I'd recommend you to send an email to CCAP coordinator, and then call them up.

Also, request you to ask for PM if you want to do a group study of sorts, and not put email ids out in the open. ... It might attract unwanted attention.

Its on par with the general CAT paper standards in difficulty. And, to actually answer whether its difficult or easier compared to CAT paper is difficult because it becomes very relative.

The material to be referred should be the same as what you'd refer whilst preparing for CAT.

Is it very difficult to crack or is it a bit easier than CAT Exam.

one more thing wht are the chances for completing the CFA along with CCAP........is the schedule of CCAP hectic........

wht is stressed upon in the written test....as in like in quant is it a mixed bag or stronger emphasis is laid on some sections

to both the above queries:

the CCAP Aptitude test conducted last year had 4 sections ...

1) QA
2) VA
3) LRDI
4) Essay writing

The first 3 sections - QA, VA and LRDI were held for 30 mins each, and they were conducted on a computer (online test). You could not go to VA if you had finished quant before 30 mins etc. You had to spend 30 mins completely on each of the three sections.

Essay writing was for 15 mins. You will be given a topic after the above 1.5 hrs of QA, VA and LRDI was complete, and then given 15 minutes to write it using a ball point pen on a sheet of white paper. I guess there were about 20-25 questions last time in each of the sections. (I'm strong in quant but I couldn't attempt all the questions given the lack of time - so don't worry on the attempts, just worry about the accuracy)

You will never get to know the results of the test - how much you scored, what was the cutoff etc. You will only know whether you're through to the next round or not.

Also, no idea on what would be concentration of the each of the sections - whether quant will focus too much on number systems or algebra or what not. The paper is based on CAT format - is all is what is told to you.

As far as I know (I could be wrong too), CRISIL outsources the test to some third party entity which conducts the test. And, yeah there werent any glitches in the process last year like what happened with CAT this year. They are very efficient in that sense for sure

From the older posts and going thru the CCAP website i can see the syllabus of ccap is very similar to CFA. I am planning to do CFA alongwith wth CCAP. Can any one throw light wether the 2 years of CCAP would be considered for CFA charter?? Bec to get CFA charter we need 4 years of relevant work ex.
