Continuing the discussion on SCM certification,
I am also planning to take a certification soon on supply chain management, but have been hovering around among mainly 3 options.1. CPSM - by ISM
2. CSCP - by APICS
3. PLS - by ASTL
After a bit more research, found that PLS is more of logistics oriented and hence now am planning to take between CPSM and CSCP. With a bit more research, finding CPSM more related to my career aspiration, but would still request you all to let me know your views on CPSM vs CSCP.
Three more factors under consideration -
1. Prior work ex in SCM - Both the exams need prior work ex in SCM, CPSM - 3 years and CSCP - 5 years if you are a graduate. When I spoke to Indian counterparts of both these instis, both promised me that there will not be any problem if my total experience reaches that level - be it not in SCM
2. Cost factor
CSCP - Rs. 40K for exam + Rs. 70K for the original material + membership cost
CPSM - Rs 7500 for exam (2500 per level) + Rs 15000 for material + $99 for certificate (no membership cost for students, for professionals there is some cost for memership)
3. Syllabus - Almost the same in two, CPSM more operation oriented, CSCP has some flavor of technology
No doubt CSCP is more renowned, but costlier too. One more thing, can we somehow avoid paying the 70K for material, like the jugar we have for CFA

Incidentally was just visiting Accenture website, and they consider both equally.
Guys am zeroing on CPSM, but still would like to know your thoughts.
