Hi,
I am a 24 year old software engineer, in a mid career dilemma, and would appreciate some valuable pointers as to the future course of action for my career.
I am presently working in an IT major, with 2.5 years of experience.
10th - 84.2
12th - 70
B.E. - 67 (Decent extra curriculars)
I gave CAT and other exams this year, received calls from some top colleges like NMIMS, SCMHRD, etc. but could not get any decent offers apart from MBA - Banking in NMIMS.
(I had applied to only the top 15 - 20 colleges ...)
As of right now, I have not taken offer mentioned, and have decided to continue working.
I plan to give CAT agan this year, but am in some doubts as to whehter to go for a full time PGDM or an executive MBA.....
What i wish to know is :-
1. Though i am willing to pursue a full time PGDM program next year, will I be at an advantage/disadvantage owing to my then work ex (3.5 years) ? Can it be a little too late for pursuing a full time program, from the perspective of certain good B-schools ?
2. for an executive MBA (if i choose to pursue it), what should be the ideal work ex for someone in my position , with my acads etc. ?
3. If I go for an MBA program from abroad, through GMAT, will my acads be a potential deal breaker ?
Thanks in advance for ur suggestions .....
