1. can i do fd of this entire amount in a bank ?
2. what docu are required to deposit an fd ?
3. will there be tax issues ?
4. is pan card very necessary for depositing such amount ?
5. since we fall into non creamy layer obc with an annual income of less than 1.5 lacs. are we liable to pay any tax ?
6. which bank gives facility of issueing credit card against FD?
7. in what way i should invest my money so that i be exempted from any kind of tax ?

1) Yes you can put the entire amount in fixed deposit.
2)If you already have a bank account then not much(check with the bank).
3)PAN card is not essential to deposit in a savings account if you are depositing using check.PAN card is needed to make a FD.
4 & 5)Bank will deduct TDS from the interest on FD at the rate of 10%.So they need the PAN number. If your total income after exemptions is not taxable then you will get back the money deducted as TDS upon filing your income tax returns.
6)Don't Know
7)Very roughly speaking Tax is calculated upon Total Income - Exemption - Any Tax benefits(investments).So to reduce tax burden reduce your total income through interest by splitting the money in your and your mother's name since both of you can avail the fixed exemptions(someting like 1.8 lakh for men and 1.9 lakh for women and some more for senior citizens).
You can get tax benefits upto 1 lakh if you invest in something like PPF.

Google about how tax is calculated and what tax benefits are there.Talk to the bank Manager and a CA/Tax Consultant to get a better idea on this.Then take an informed decision.

PS = You can get a good idea on this by googling and going through income tax website.Be very careful while making any decision and always do your research.The figures I have mentioned are not the latest and may not be avery precise so use your Uncle Google.

Whatever information you get from others , vet it by googling.There are some very good resources on the internet.

similar situation here too....I too hv lost my father....dont know if PUYs,esp those who are working in banks will reply....am writing this post to suggest that you should visit a nearby bank and talk to a higher level official directly...that would be the best way to get your questions answered...20L means good business to the banks.....hopefully they will be more than happy to answer all your queries properly and in a straight-forward way....

Really what's the need of this backlog thing as all students who can crack written are definitely good and can learn the job during training.

And in this IBPS also I can see all the banks filling only 50-60% of their seats(due to overlap) and remaining seats being shifted to next IBPS and this process goes on and on........ :|

I know and I expect that too.....but there is something with this system....it often comes up with nasty surprises....hope that this time,there are no surprises and IBPS is not involved with this....what makes me doubt it is the fact that I have seen at least 5-6 different people saying this....citing diff sources...for diff banks...on diff forums and sites....but the same thing...that IBPS is involved in PI too....dont know if all of them are wrong.....as far as Union is concerned,it was only the 1st bank....so it was bound to be fast......anyways...lets see....whatever it is,it should give +ve results,thats it....I mean,irrespective of IBPS being involved or not,I would be only be happy with a process which gives max chances to the needy and since I am needy too,let it start giving those +ve results from MYSELF!! :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

so....basically what this means is that....what they have been saying that "IBPS IS THE BODY CONCERNED ONLY WITH TAKING THE WRITTEN EXAM AND THE SELECTION PROCESS DEPENDS TOTALLY ON THE INDIVIDUAL BANKS" is totally wrong??....tell u what,this is not the only forum from where I am getting this info....people on other forums too are saying the same thing...one guy(decent...it seems...as he has been giving authentic info fr quite sometime now)said that he got info from a syndi regional office that syndi interview marks are being scrutinized by the IBPS...once they complete the process,they will prepare the final list,hand over the final list to the syndi HRs,who will then tally it..and then upload it on their site (I dont know if it is true or not)...then why did the IBPS director give that statement??this whole process will make us go nuts....for sure....wow....so much confusion...so many issues right from cut off to the interview ratio to the interview date allotment......now regarding the authority of the recruitment process....who has the ultimate power in this process??who has the final word ----is it the bank...or the IBPS???????????????

IF wht u say is true --- IBPS is scheduling interviews then , today is the day when i can officially announce that IBPS PPL R IDIOT. I mean how much effort does it takes to make sure tht no two interviews of a candidate r on the same date. Any IDIOT with a bit of programming knowledge can do it. Now tht makes them super IDIOT.

attendance very low 7/17 present. gd topic rural area is our strength or weakness. First everyone should give their view for 2 minutes.15 to 20 minutes discussion. Interview experience. General discussion about my fathers business and few question from canara bank website. They asked one question but i dont no the answer ques:

first of all ibps is conducting the interview ie they only scheduled the date and time. They informed the bank to conduct the interview as per date and time. Every day bank should give report of conducted interview at end of the day. So bank has no chance to change the day. But there is chance to change the time unofficial. I got this information from hr.

IF wht u say is true --- IBPS is scheduling interviews then , today is the day when i can officially announce that IBPS PPL R IDIOT. I mean how much effort does it takes to make sure tht no two interviews of a candidate r on the same date. Any IDIOT with a bit of programming knowledge can do it. Now tht makes them super IDIOT.

P.S - I personally dont believe tht HR bcoz IBPS director has said tht they i.e IBPS r not involved in any ways in the final selection process of banks. I think he was just bull shitting around.

we cant get permission. There is no contact no. So there is only one way. Go to centre and say situation. They ll agree. There is nothing to worry. In my interview they didnt ask anything.
