Analysis of IBPS PO 2.0 By Career Launcher
The CWE PO was conducted on 17 June 2012. The exam was conducted in two slots at various Centres across the Country. The Expected number of test takers has been almost the same as the previous IBPS CWE PO Test. Approximately 15 lakh (no official confirmation as yet) candidates took the test yesterday. We have been able to collect and compile a lot of questions from our faculties who wrote the test as well as from other test takers, Here is a quick overview of the test:
Objective Sections of the Exam

The ratio of Banking Awareness to Current Awareness questions was 1:1 This was a change over the last test, when more questions were from the Banking Awareness Section. This time more number of questions on Static GK (Books and authors, Science, History, Geography, Politics etc.) and Current Affairs (International, organizations, Famous award and prizes, World Records, Sports) were there,
Computer Awareness
The questions in this section were practice oriented and were intended to check the practical knowledge related to computers. The questions were on networking, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Hardware, Internet etc. Student complained that the language used in this part of the test was very complex
Overall Analysis (based on analysis by our expert and the feedback from the test takers)

Overall the paper was a bit difficult as compared to last year. However, students who have done well in GK and Computer awareness can comfortably sail through. Our mock tests have more or less reflected the difficulty level as well as the pattern.
A score of 130+ should be a decent score.

175 ho ya 155....it matters only when you get the calls. Like in this IBPS 160 people didn't get a single call. So even if we get 140-150 and banks call us that's what which matters. So don't be disappointed when results come and you see less than 160 marks on your scorecard. Just wait for the cutoff of first bank and rest all banks will have cutoff in range +/-5

Hey guys , I am not a regular IBPS exam taker... But gave it this year first time.... I am doing my MBA and prepared for CAT last year , so i know how hard the exams can be... And believe me , When i saw the reasoning sets I was thinking that my CAT reasoning set was much easier than this...

The circular type reasoning sets are known to be most difficult.. So normally if we get one circular loop set , then we can expect that other ques. would be easier to maintain the balance... But it was a double whappy... One , we had very diff. circular loop sets and the parallel set was equally difficult... And non verbal ques. ( 10 of them ) didn't help much....

So , I can guarantee that this IBPS paper was certainly commensurate to CAT paper... So do expect cutoffs to go down drastically...
Rest Best of luck to all of you.... Just feel confident that you would be thru... Nothing can match a confident person....

PO mein nahi hai shayad kyunki main bhi hun bihar ka par rehta Kolkata mein hun to yahin se bhara hai aur bengali nahi tha 10th mein. NABARD ke guidelines ki yeh baatein bhi clear karti hain meri baat ko-:

"Candidates will be advised in the notification to
specify any one centre from the list of centres notified by IBPS from
which he/she would appear for CWE. There shall be no restriction on
the candidate to appear in the interview only in the RRBs located in the

Yesterdays IBPS PO Exam was really tough. After doing a survey of more than 2000 students, who appeared for this exam yesterday, we found that students are now more worried than they were before the exam. Around 92 % students found reasoning part to be very tough and around 80 % people maths to be tough.


What will be individual cutoffs for this IBPS Exam


Looking at the level of question paper and considering the number of attempts by students in the survey, we found that individual sectional cut-off will be much lower this time (as compared to IBPS 1.0. We expect following cut-offs for each section -

So, if you are expecting that you will be above marks in the individual section, we expect you to qualify the exam. SO, DONT WORRY AND DONT LOSE HOPE.


Also, these are the actual marks but when the IBPS result will be declared, they will provide standardize scores (and not the actual score) which is basically calculated keeping in mind the highest score, mean score, median score etc. So, obviously you Total Weighted Score (TWS) will be higher than what is mentioned above or you will calculate.


When will the result of this exam declared
Result of IBPS 2012 is expected to be declared by first week of Aug 2012.


When will the fresh vacancies come?
Banks keep on recruiting independently of IBPS Exam (as per their needs and requirements). So, vacancies can come any time now, the only requirement is - they ask for IBPS Score. This means, people having IBPS Score, can only apply. It has been observed that atleast 4-5 Banks should come out with vacancies just after declaration on the result of this IBPS Exam (Aug-Sept)


Which score will I use for applying to Bank Vacnacies, once this IBPS Score is declared?
You can chose, with which score you want to apply. Generally you will apply with the score which is higher of the two. Suppose, last year your score was 165 and this year it comes out to be 160, so ideally you should applying using your last years score as it will give you more chances of getting a call. As per IBPS Guidelines, your IBPS Exam score is valid for one year and during that one year you can applying in any Bank using that score (given you statisfy minimum illegibility criteria of the Bank).


What if I could not clear this Exam?
You can appear again for the IBPS PO Exam, which should be held in the start of next year 2013. There are not restrictions on number of attempts in IBPS.

Well here is my journey towards IBPS (I-Itne B-Bure P-Paper S-Setters)

When IBPS came out with its notice for CWE PO-2 in March 2012.....i was like :grin:.:cheers::thumbsup:..............yippieee ab to mujhe koi nai rok sakta is exam ko clear karne se.....aur me nikal padi apni preparation k liye....was confident that this time around will surely fetch good marks n get through it....well everything was going good...then came the call letter..n i was like :shock::shock:.........centre itti duuurrrr!!!.....ok ok no issues....concentrated on my preparation...then came D-Day....17 June...mine was afternoon shift..reached centre 1 n a half hour before the exam...it was the worst exam centre...there was no place to sit..hum sab apni chappal utaar k floor par baithe the...again it was a funny scene..!!...then heard few people talking about IBPS paper..they were sayin "dis tym pakka paper tough aane wala hai!!" n i was lyk "DUMBOS:nono::sneaky: padhai ki ni hogi to bol rahe hai".....went in the examination hall with confidence..:grin:.....got the question paper...start was great...did maximum question in GA, Computer, English with more than 95% accuracy...then came reasoning...it was a bit tough...managed to do 25 questions with 90% accuracy...:grin:..........then came the GAME CHANGER MATHS....MATHS MERA DUSHMAN...I had 40 mins. left but i cudnt do a single Q properly..got damn nervous...inspite of thorough preparation with all short cut calculations n formulas i cudnt solve it...was scared as calculations were really lengthy...i was lost!!!

I realised that those DUmbos were really smart in speculations!!!

In short SATRA (17) par KHATRA hota hai...sai baat hai:biggrin::biggrin:

I dunno what should i do...i have wasted my 1 year for this IBPS thing..m stuck now...ab aur 9 months wait karna hoga

Congratz pal you'l sail through the ibps river. Even if 10 questions out of your attempted 17 in quants, are correct, u'll get a pass. But the thing is to fetch a decent score. Cant say abt that. . . .

Didn't you take any guidance from some expert who either appeared last time or anyone knowledgeable? Because those 24 are standard marks which can be obtained by securing 7-8 marks in sections like reasoning and maths. Remember this thing from next time and don't attempt tukkas.

Second, No there won't be any IBPS Po exam in September. Reason is, thoda dimaag laga lo.

Hi puys! My experience of IBPS 2 was really bad...i never expected such a kind of ppr
First of all the center tht i got was really far n mine was the aftrnoon shift. Moreover on reaching the center i saw that thr werent any proper desks too in my center

I startd with reasoning could manage only 20 in the first 40 min...got tensed from there on itself....thn moved on to gk , computer and english which wre okish for me bt aftr i got tensed i it took me mre time to go thru the sections too..thn maqths i had 25 min n could manage 18 questions correctly...but since i knew that sectional cutoff is 24 for each section, i strtd doing guess wrk n attemptd a few questions here n there jst blindly....was it the right thing to do?

n one more thing...won'y the nxt ibps xam haapen in september? last year toh hua tha i think

yesterdays paper was a disaster is all i can say..reasoning and quant were of a level, unknown to the bank entrance xams! I had taken IBPS 1 without any preparation and managed a score of 152 which till now stands to be a waste..and the paper this time takes away the rest of the hopes too..

But as I have been lamenting abt the performance yesterday..something struck my mind.. IBPS 1 score is valid till december '12..and looking at the kind of ppr we took yesterday, the cut-off might drop. so is there any chance tht the IBPS 1 candidates like me who cud not use there score now can hope fr some chance in the coming rounds?

You are just being an optimist which is a good thing but it is not like this. When the standardization will be done, it will also be matched against the last paper as the validity of the two will clash for some 3-5 months. What that means is, a person who got 35 in reasoning with an actual score of 20 can this time get the same score with an attempt of 16-18.

u will surely get selected and ur score will be over 170
how u managed to attempt 42 in quant!! m shock!! it was really tough.

Quant is the only section in which my calculation speed can help..... Reasoning puzzles are not solving and analogy portion haven't too much time to see that...:(

Finally received Offer letter from BOI..
have to report to Indore zone..
Any one else who got the same????

Cut off would be 24 for each section and scores would be standardized otherwise ibps 2 candidates would be at disadvantage.... since marks of ibps 1 (consisting good scorers) would still be valid till dec 2012...

scores of candidates would be stadarized in such a manner that normal curves of both exam matches...

Hi Priyanka, pls note English was of total 25 Marks only (each question of 1/2 mark)... so, as per this analysis cutoff will be roughly 40% for English ie. 10 marks... i guess its reasonable and cutoff should hover around this only.

shock..the paper level was very high..even sbi po paper does not hav dat much difficulty level...pichli bar to fir bhi 30+ attempt kiye the..fir bhi 160 marks hi aaye the..PI call ka wait kerte kerte 2nd CWE aa gaya ..filled almost all forms..but no use...socha tha is baar to 180 above lana hi he..BUT.......... mera din hi kharab tha..pehle to ID ki photo copy le jana bhool gayi..fir bhi managed to go inside..than the invigilator mahashay,dimag kharab ker diya:banghead:..pure 2 hours ,he was continuously saying sumthin..i was not able to concentrate..and 2-3 guys 2 hours pehle hi jane k liye chillane lage..upar se power cut..overall it was very bad experience..180 above kya..is bar to 160 bhi shayad hi aaye...

Hey you got very good attempts and if your accuracy is more than 90% you will surely get around 170.....

same story happens with me,last time i got 160 but no calls this time thought of scoring 170+ but all in vain i will not get more than my last score....so have to rely on 160....

and are there any chances that ki some banks will come with their vacancies befire declaration of CWE-2 result....as lots of seats are not filled till now.

m very much disappointed yar.:banghead:..jab 2011 me first time paper diya to tough laga..socha..let it be..agla paper acha denge..i work on it and made myself accrdng to that levl..with much confidence i went for ibps 1 and..WHAT.:shock:..i thought what is dis..the levl was so hard...again i thought ..koi baat nahi agla paper to fod hi denge...dis tym tried very hard...solved almost all papers of last 10 years..solved many puzzles..and went for the IBPS2 with much more confidence...BUT what was that..it took 1 day to cum of that shock..the paper level was very high..even sbi po paper does not hav dat much difficulty level...pichli bar to fir bhi 30+ attempt kiye the..fir bhi 160 marks hi aaye the..PI call ka wait kerte kerte 2nd CWE aa gaya ..filled almost all forms..but no use...socha tha is baar to 180 above lana hi he..BUT.......... mera din hi kharab tha..pehle to ID ki photo copy le jana bhool gayi..fir bhi managed to go inside..than the invigilator mahashay,dimag kharab ker diya:banghead:..pure 2 hours ,he was continuously saying sumthin..i was not able to concentrate..and 2-3 guys 2 hours pehle hi jane k liye chillane lage..upar se power cut..overall it was very bad experience..180 above kya..is bar to 160 bhi shayad hi aaye...

i think tumhara paper teek huaa hai. you can think of 170 .external factors hamesha pareshaan kartey hai . jaise kise ka centre teek nhai hota ,kise ko invigilator kharab hota hai so dnt worry . or mughey pata hai wait karna kitna kharab lagta hai . about IBPS 1 i think you will get call from central bank of india at 160 so prepare to convert it as most of the candidate upto 172 are already selected. and many with score with 165 are also selected,many of them have multiple options so either bank will come out with wait list or will recruit in next IBPS 2 so all candidate upto 160 (gen) will have job by September 2012.

In our center,IBPS exam question paper was given at 2:30 pm and dey asked us to start writing.... and surprisingly at 4:30 pm, dey told us dat "1 hour left". so totally we got 3 hours to write the exam.

In our room, there are 72 candidates. Eventhough, if they have asked us to start writing from 3 PM, I still wonder how 2 invigilators can monitor 72 students, from without opening question papers.

ANd in 3 hrs..how many questions u attempted?
so it means that 72 students got half an hour extra for the same paper..and atleat 50 of them were serious and they surely hv used dis time..and they hav atleast attempted 15 questions extra from all of us..

IBPS-2.0, One of the toughest bank PO paper I have ever experienced........

guys i have a doubt ...by reading all the posts here regarding the attempts made by fellow puys....I came to conclusion that average attempts by max are

English 30-32
GA 28-30
Computer 30
Maths 22-24 ...
Reasoning 18-20...

this are the attempts fro PG on which max are serious aspirants...on considering the applicants which only sit in the exam without any preparation the cutoff for getting a score card will further go down than wht i have posted above.....so at this score we are sure that we will get score card....:)

But wht about score..which we will get on these many attempts...will it be 140/150/or may be 160+...if any one has made any calculation or assumptions please share.....i think this time people will get more score even attempting less questions as compared to CWE-1.

Also what about difficulty level of both the sessions ...i attempted afternoon session....and it was pretty much tough...what abt morning one...:sneaky::sneaky: jyada tough kon sa tha dono mai se....

aur iss baat ka bhi adv milta hai kkya scoring mai ki kon se session mai paper diya tha.....
