Yup sirjee , had my trng at CSC Civil Lines Delhi , roamed entire delhi in search of good food , went to Paratha Gali , Chadni Chowk and other places....


Trng at PNB is really a thing to enjoy , U share some very memorable days with ur Batch Mates , it seems like once again in College ...

We had to share room with Batch mates and as a result of which Bonding between the colleagues goes on to a new level....

Though there hav been complaints from a lot of people ( including Banker ) about poor salary , and Worst Hr Policy , the thing will improve within the next 3-5 yrs and all of U who have determined to enter PSU Banking sector will njoy life...

Something to tell U - Respect of a PO / Mt in Banks is great , it feels really awesome when the DGm , AGm , Ed , CMD or other people are there to welcome U and ready to interact with U , coz few yrs ago they were in our seat....


So all those who r dreaming to become Po / Mt , gear up , PSU Banks hav lots and Lots of vacancies and it will increase in the yrs to Come...

Bhai mere,,, i hv had mixed exprnce in sbi since dec 2010,, and yaa talkng bt d promtn toh yahan pe clerk se TO bole toh PO ban sakte hai aftr 2 yrs if v hv dne caiib, nd 3yrs vd jaiib ma bm told me bt that vl read d new circular 2mrw abt promotn policy par bhai sbi mein rehna kis ko hai ab ,, ab toh state govt mein jaana hai,, aur yahan ma tehsildar was average gk waz vry easy par aptude ne dubo diya,, lets c kya hota hai,,, btw does nyne knw ki if sbi vl change saving ratd frm 4 to 5 or 6 ,, aur wo jo 1 lakh se upar vaali news thi uska kya hua,, ibn thoda fursat mein likuhnga apna exprnce vaise yahan sab mahan aatmaayenapna po ka exp batati hai,, toh mujme toh inferiority cmplx aa jaayega naa .. Ha ha ha

Gramin Banks are Banks especially in Rural areas which are being sponsored by some other Nationalized Banks...

Basically the job Profile is same as any PO / MT in a Nationalized Bank , the only difference being , the operation / business of the Bank is slightly different...

There U will have to deal with the needs of the villagers , Agricultural Loans and Advances , Micro financing , Retail and other aspects prevalent in Rural areas...

The designation and Pay-scale is same as that of any other PO / MT.

I advised U all to write these xams just to keep in practice , coz nowdays U hav a Po xam after every six months and often U will find it difficult to sit idle for 6 long months to crack a single xam...

Keep appearing for as many xams and solve as many papers as U can - If U r serious about ur career and if U want to get into job as early as possible...

new people joined and started contributing, i left the thread some 100 pages back when quality discussions turned into quantity, gossiping and it is better not to say what was going in the last few pages of the thread,,,

I was very hurt to see the Quotes in Shashank aka doc mod's post on previous thread, and it is shameful that these things originated from this particular thread,

We have a objective where "one journey ends another begins". A life is best lived when it is being used for making a difference in other peoples lives...

For this regard i would request Abhishek to open a new thread for all those who have joined banking and looking forward to move higher in banking verticals, where we all can focus ahead, and seeing the same the newbies would be motivated, We can discuss our daily jobs, changes in banking, common errors, upcoming projects, news in banking scenario, changes in EDs and CMDs, so as to make a common platform towards a higher objective,

To those who are aiming the banking sector: We passed out in a lucky time, when individual exams were conducted, every exam was a new opportunity.

The written exam is single--- IBPS, so more seriousness is required, as on basis of 1 exam 19 interviews are scheduled.

Send a mail to HR ppl, and make sure they read your mail by making call to them, Most probably they will agree with ur extension time, since no banks gets 100% recruited candidates

arre yaar u have to just send an email..they also know that u can't do this formalities in short sapn of time

they will give u extension very easily...not at all an isssue....main to keh ra hun araam se 2 months ka extension lelon acchaa sa bahana maarke......aur dossre results main better posting milti hai to balle balle

i think you should call the HR OFFICE OF IOB..same thng happend vid one of my frnd too in 2010..bt finally everythng was solved..u also hope for the best..

Hi puys, as you all know that recently I am selected as Indian Overseas Bank PO 2011, here I would like to share my experience about bank exams.

I was in my last year of graduation and the year was 2008,at that time I thought of Bank Probationary Officer. The date was 28/12/2008 when I posted first time on Pagalguy(on first thread of po exam prep) about po exam(now I think my query was so silly). Here is the link

But the thought was not firm enough to have my hard work or sincere efforts towards it. I was more focussed towards CAT and had made my mind of 1 year prep leave( actually after living 3 years far from home, I wanted to be at home for a year before MBA). Even in my final semester of graduation I got admission of few decent private B schools, but I didnt join as I wanted to prep for CAT. After returning home(June 2009) I joined CAT prep coaching and started giving mock CAT(generally 75%ile,some time 85%ile). At that time my father(he is in SBI) insisted me to apply for november 2009, SBI clerk 11000 vacancies(later on 33000 were selected and 90000 were called for interview). I was reluctant, as I thought applying for clerk is too bad but finally applied. I was confident of passing it as I thought I was way above clerk level. But I forgot that bank exams are more about speed rather than accuracy. I gave sbi clerk with normal speed and shocked to see the result, I got failed.. Was not able to make to the list of 90000 candidates:nono:!!! Here I would like to tell that my maths is pathetic(even didnt prep Quant for CAT) though reasoning and English is above average, GK, current affair, marketing is good(BBA in marketing).

PHASE I of po exams

Soon I was again focussed towards CAT and appeared for it. Exam was ok and was expecting about 80-85 %ile,and was planning to take admission in one of the decent b school. After giving CAT I appeared for some PO exams(3 or 4), but was not able to crack them. One of the biggest issue was I had(I still have) phobia of maths and never prep for it.
Soon CAT 2009 results were out I dont know whether because of prometric or it was my fault, I scored pathetic 60%ile in CAT:-(, I was shocked and terrified about the future consequences. It was APRIL 2010, I was not expecting any call and my 1 year was already washed out. That was the one of the most depressing phase of my life. But by the god grace and unexpected CAT scores, I managed to get MBA( finance) at Lucknow University:). I had no other better option and joined the program.
Now, it was the time when I seriously thought about po exams. My father suggested me to join po coaching classes but neither I had time nor I wanted to join coaching classes,as I still thought that bank exam dont need any coaching. After joining MBA, BOI 2000 GBO(august 2010) was my first po exam,did very bad as because of my numerical ability. I didnt(still) like maths and didnt buy any maths book(like r s agrawal). After that didnt appear in any exams and continued my MBA life.

Phase 2 of po exams

It was December 2010 when my best friend who is my classmate also(now Allahabd bank po) and I, decided to give po exams. Then after my 2nd semester exam I bought previous papers for practice. Didnt buy any maths book was I was sure that I would not study it( I HATE MATHS YAAR). I formed my own strategy for tackling po exams.
I prep GK NOTES- from pd, internet, bsc. Rest I practiced from previous papers.
My strategy was to give 15 mins to English, 15 mins to gk, 10 mins to computer,40 mins reasoning and REST(about 50-55 mins) in maths. By giving 50-55 mins to maths I was able to attempt 40/50:biggrin:. Here I would like to mention that I always attempted exams with high accuracy. In none of the exam my score went above 55% of total marks that too by attempting on lower side. In phase 2, we both appeared for obc po(26 dec), indian po,union po,Punjab sind po,Uco po,Allahabad po,IOB PO(my worst po written exam).
Result came and we both were able to carck 2 exams each. My friend cracked uco and allahabad and I cracked Punjab sind and Allahabad bank. I was very happy by cracking first po exam of my life. But unfortunately I was not able to crack any interview due to my low score. In between my friend got selected in Allahabad bank as po:). I was happy for him but was too depressed because of my results.:-(
Now no result was in pipeline except IOB po,in which I had no hope.SO, now I appeared for sbi(my dream bank),sbi asso and cwe po. Now I analysed that I need to score more and improve my quants. SO after these exam I FINALLY ORDERD R S AGRAWAL online,for next cwe and other exams. As most of us, I too was waiting for these exam results and life became busy with MBA. In September 2011 IOB result was out and just for formality when I checked my result, I was shocked to know that I CLEARED iob po WRITTEN:biggrin:. Now I was very happy and prepared for interview. My interview too went good. Now wait for result was making me mad as it was my last hope of my phase 2 po exams.
Finally on 8 NOVEMEBER 2011, IOB final result was out and this time I got selected. SO , now days I am very happy but have tension of my MBA 3 sem exams which are due in December 1st week.

HERE ARE MY SUGGESTIONS TO OTHER PUYS---

1-My strategy of just practicing previous papers and not preparing my weak point(maths) was not good so prep well for weak area. By doing so you will score good in written, which is most important.
2-Prep gk by making notes of monthly magazine(pd,bsc,internet sites):)
3-Previous papers are most important aspect prep.
4-MOST IMPORATNT--- HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF.

Nice Infra and also a good society. Overall a really nice place.

First day in the branch I got my IDs within 2 hrs. and straight away I started posting and verifying cheks and pmnt slips with the help of another officer. Did a fund transfer thru RTGS as well.

On the second day a CSR was absent so they asked me to sit at the front desk along with another CSR. Didnt knew a thing abt what to say when the customers approached me, but the staff was really helpful and by the end of the day I learned a lot of new things like issuing new FDs, extending old ones, Forms 15G & 15H, etc.

Third Day. A really lucky day for me. the DGM sir along with the Regional Manager wisited our branch and met all the officers. Since I was new at the branch he talked a lot with me and because of my Cr. background suggested the Chief Branch Manager that I shd be trained in the Credit Deptt. So frm Monday onwards I will be working there.

Really enjoying working here art BoB.

god, when u said 'my bank po experience' i thought i would be pathetic, cos yest i was reading the experiences from the other thread and they said bob po has too much pressure , training issues etc.. i was really shocked to read all those pathetic xperiences...
