Zyada tar remote areas me BSNL ke alava koi operator nahi hai. Why do you still expect BSNL to be profitable when BSNL has set up their BTS even for the villages having population of 50! Come out of your cities and towns and you will know what I am talking about.

Comparison in profitability can be made only when two companies are competing with the same objective.

aplaya,, loss me hai doesnt mean ki banks r hvng loss in ddre balance sheet,, rather d provisioning dat banks do 4 npa automathcaly decrease banks profits,, toh itz a type of loss as banks r loosing a big amt on provisng,, plus many times v hv heard ki govt aur paise invest kregi in psb to make it financially strong,,, toh sirjee i can tel u ki dere r lot of branches of sbi which hv failed in increasng business,, infact aisi bahut saari branches mil jaayengi jahan pe customer base hi nhi hai aur bm sirf diwaaro ko dekh kar time pass krta hai,, so many reasns behind dis bm nt capable to attract bakra bole toh customers,, punishment branches where a big fraud had occured earlier ,,, ibn yaar 1 thing i m sure ki new basic 4 po wud b mre than 21k ,, likh k le lo,,,

Bhai vo jin branches ki baat kar rahe ho jaha customers nahi hai, I am sure vo aisi jagah pe hogi jaha pe kisi bhi private bank ne apni branch kholi bhi nahi hogi aur na hi vo chahte honge. So, it is very wrong expectation to bring business out of everywhere.

Leave aside banking, ab agar kaha jaye ki BSNL Airtel jitna profitable hona chahiye to vo ho hi nahi sakta. Kyonki being a govt org BSNL ka primary aim aam aadmi ka bhala hai na ke profitability. They even have network in semi urban and rural areas where none of the private operators bother to go because it does not make business sense. Leave aside rural areas, companies like Airtel wont even have landline/broadband in those areas of Delhi which are not posh, as laying copper cables is a big investment. Only govt companies are doing all that seva of aam aadmi.

Similarly, it is absolutely unfair to expect PSU banks to compete with private banks in terms of profitability. Now, why does govt force private banks to participate in financial inclusion. They may be opening more and more branches in the villages, that does not make them more profitable.

Govt is making fool out of people if they compare PSU banks with private ones. Does the govt even bother to note that a bank like ICICI has 37% attrition within first 6 months? Matlab agar 100 employees ICICI join karte hain, 37 leave within the first 6 months of joining. Ab yaar aise profitability laana chahti hai govt to bahot hi galat baat hai. Banks will go downward spiral this way.

da - 58% of basic = Rs. 5394 (this gets revised by Govt. based on inflation numbers)
hra - 30% of basic = Rs. 2790

total hua around Rs. 16-17K

Ab kuchh aur bhi dete ho ye to maloom nahi...aur hra bhi maine assume kiya hai ki central govt jaisa hoga to 30% liya hai. otherwise it will be lesser than that. but still..this will give you an idea about the salary.

Jab tak result aa nahi jaata tab tak kaha nahi ja sakta ke der hai ya andher. Par haan is thread ki mostly junta to already kahi na kahi PO lag gaye lagta hai IBPS ka result aane se pehle hi, tabhi ab koi post nahi karta yahan mujhe aur Addy ko chhod kar.

FCI ka matlab Food Corporation of India hai. It is not the name of the post, you cannot compare FCI with PO.

But if you are comparing this particular post with PO, then in terms of salary, POs scale starts at Rs. 14500 whereas for this post in FCI, the notice says scale is Rs. 9300. So, this is nearer to the clerical salary in a bank and not close to PO's salary. However, the work conditions would probably be much relaxed than working in a bank, from what it seems.

The answer to it is anytime.

We are the customers and these agencies like IBPS/Prometric are service providers to us. Govt. of India needs to intervene in their functioning so that they start giving a definite date by which the results would be declared. The state of affairs should not be this bad when it is a matter of employment for lakhs of candidates. This when the OMRs are to be read by machines altogether and they have raked in crores of Rupees as exam fee in these exams.

Imagine a person preparing for the next CWE PO all this while and he makes it to some bank through CWE conducted in Sept. 2011. That is an absolute waste of time in his youth which he spent mugging up those shortcut tricks in the period between 2 CWEs rather than going out with girls! These skills would be of no use to a human being all his life, other than clearing these exams.

Thanks Abhishek. But like you said, it just seems like a rumour. I asked you about the numbers because I also read somewhere on PG that 45,000 POs will be recruited through IBPS this year. However, the figure seems to be very steep.

For this to be true, each of the 19 banks has to recruit between 2000-2500 POs on average and this is not going to happen considering that there are probably not more than 5-6 banks which have the capacity to recruit in such large numbers. Others will get their belly filled under 1,000 POs each.

I think whosoever has started this rumour probably read this article in Economic Times:

It says 45,000 officers and staff! The staff would include many positions other than POs, and I guess for POs the figure wont be anything above 15,000.

I know it does not do any good anticipating these numbers sitting here on PG, but still, I am always curious about these numbers and statistics of selection.

Also, do you have any news as to how many vacancies for PO are expected to be filled through the Sept. 2011 IBPS CWE?

I wud want to say , keep focused , keep preparing hard , solve past PO papers , R.S. Aggarwal Books , Bsc Books multiple times and things will be a cakewalk for U !!



For clerical exams , U gotta know the language of the state where U want to apply for !!

On the other hand Clerical exams to my perception is much tougher than any PO exam coz...


1. Vacancies are relatively less

2. Eligibility criteria in terms of % marks in acads is less stringent.

3. Difficulty of the paper is a bit less , so lots of aspirants go for it.


So , keep focused on PO xams where vacancies are more and competition is on an elevated level...

But yes, I understand your point. Even I am thinking on those lines. I think it would be better to apply for posts where my education helps me eliminate some crowd. Bank exams mein to bahot hi zyada bheed hai bhai. And, I am not good at clearing these written exams where I am competing with the guys who have mastered those tricks to solve questions within a matter of seconds. I have to use the traditional methods that were taught in school still.
