Absolutely any problem of Quants involving CI and Si can be solved by this approximation tool...

This is basically my observation solving various competitive xams from CAT , MAT , XAT , GRE to GMAT and other xams , the thing is same , the question setter want's U to adopt some shortcut /approximation techniques...

Do attempt these type of questions and always use the approximation techniques , here and whenever U find the given options wide apart ...

238 is divisible by 17 that means 238*x/17 is divisible by 17
that means we have to find remainder when 79 is divided by 17

X= 120/11= 10.9 minutes = 11 minutes

so they will meet at 9.11.

waise this particular qes easy hai .however this is the method to do this kind of qes.

Dekho bhai, ye conventional way se to ho hi jayega, but the figures in this particular question are very simple and you can easily do it verbally. Here's how.


If both took 20 minutes to reach other end, they would meet in the middle after 10 mins.

If both took 24 minutes to reach other end, they would meet in the middle after 12 mins.

So, within your mind you can easily figure out that the correct answer can only be somewhere in between the two and that is 9:11 AM.

No need to use paper/pen in questions like these.
