Yes buddy, I know that. I asked the question to ascertain the competition for different states. For example, only about 350 odd people got selected for the interview from the southern four states, and I feel people from other part of the country may have not opted for those states. So its basically easy for them to get the jobs of their choice. That is the reason I wanted to know if puys(especially the north zone puys) have opted for all the states or just a select few from their region.

One important thing that the version used of ms office is 2003 so please get familiarize with that only.......because interface of both are quite different ........best of luck to all....

Hey buddy there is no metro station nearby as such... but if you are coming from some other part of Delhi, take metro and get down at 'Uttam Nagar' metro station on the 'Noida/Anand Vihar to Dwarka' metro line, take bus route no. 724 or 740 or 879 or 753 from the Uttam Nagar terminal.. Ask the conductor to tell you where to get down for the 'bus stop of D block janakpuri', it l be approx 20 minutes ride.... and from there its a walking distance, ask anyone... its near St. Francis de Sales church, or you can ask for IITM too... they are adjacent..... I hope you got it... if any doubt, please PM me...

the approx time for the test is 1 and a half hour for the test, but it depends when the test starts... my test today was scheduled for 1:30pm, though the reporting time was 11:45am, and the test actually began at 2:30pm only......... they are conducting the test in 4 or 5 groups each day...

Hi I appeared for the computer prof. test today and it was easy if you are ok with the basics
word test: It was like the same as for the tax assistant....... 15 mins and passage to be written by checking exactly as there will be no beep or something to make you know ur mistakes.
excel test: they will give u a format and you have to make accordingly like that and there will be some unsolved mathematical function as in my case i have to find the sum and average of the data. font size, underlining, making letters bold and so will be in the question paper.....
Powerpoint test: it will be just of a slide and you have to make exactly like dat and all the font size letter type will be given in the question paper.....be sure how to put a border in the ppt......becoz i wz totally blank.......
and last thing they keep changing the questions.....in alternate batches i suppose....

speed test me kuchh bataane ka nhi hai.
in powerpoint, u will have to make sme heading and in exl just basic chart.I willmine 2morrw tab pura bataunga

Had my interview today in Delhi CGO complex...
timing was 11:30, panel E, document verifyication started on time....
but my turn came only at 3pm!..:shock:
now my background is science and i am a Zoology hons graduate....

the Panel had 5 members, each took turns to ask questions, everyone was cordial and helpful, and even gave hints in a few questions when i had some idea about the answers....
First question was why did you not continue with a postgraduation degree in your graduation subjects? answered well i guess!
then a short question on my hobby...
the 2nd member asked for subjects in graduation, and asked me questions from my SUBSIDIARY subject, chemistry!:banghead:.... and asked me to write down structure of a few molecules and bonds... then asked something about biological accumulation...
the 3rd was a lady, she completely focussed on my specialization subject... must have been around 10-15 questions on the same.... answered most... even asked her directly for a hint in a question as i got confused and she did...
4th asked me some other graduation subjects in brief.. asked about the khap-panchayats and what are they doing and what is my take on it?.. and the bouncer question was... "where is Shahajahanabad?" i told them that it is one of the seven cities of Delhi, and with a subtle hint, answered that it it is chandni chowk..
the 5th didnt ask anything, she just kept on nodding as i was answering..
The 1st person again asked me a few zoology questions like what is cockroach's respiratory system known as? main characteristics of phylum arthropoda, pseudopodia, Rh factor that i had used in one of my earlier answers and a nobel prize in medicine-who and for what? first test-tube baby, which year? and a few other questions... asked about who is the minister of child development? the last, was!.. name the woman of Indian origin who is a head of some other foreign country!.... got the name Kamla Prasad but couldnt name the country:banghead:(Trinidad and Tobago)....
In all, interview lasted for 20 minutes ,and i had a nice experience, was more like a discussion... :o
so basically they will grill on graduation subjects... so be thorough with your subjects....

I am also not sure, heard from a friend. There are various optional subjects in mains buddy, like geography, history, sociology, commerce etc, we need to write any two of those subjects of our choice. From 2011 onwards UPSC will list out the subjects we need to attempt, in other words everyone needs to attempt those subjects. So we will no longer be able to select the optionals ourselves.

my question is:..suppose if an obc cand. clears the cutoff for IT insepctor ....then he will be allotted state according to his rank and preference...in case he is not getting his prefered state in UR cat, then will he be taken as an obc cat candidate and allotted his prefered state??....

as far as i knw an OBC candidate can b selected in 1 category only(depends on d creamy layer criteria) unlike SC/ST candidates...

tht means tht d 1400 candidate dey r talking abt already includes those OBC candidates who hav mentioned themselves as UR...while dis 1400 doesn include those SC/ST candidates who cleared UR cutoff,dey wil b given place in UR merit list in d final result...

moral of d story-an OBC candidate can b chosen only in 1 category(whether it b UR or OBC).....
correct me if i m wrong...!!!

For mains you also need to study two optionals,essay,english and one regional language paper..
After clearing prelims we will come to know that we just swam thorough a pond...civilservices is all about mains even if we clear prelims we have an ocean to swim...We need to integrate our prelims and mains preparation from the starting...

hi guys...Any exam whether it be civilservices,CAT,XAT,GMAT,GRE,SSC,BANKPO..Must follow the following steps
1.collect the material..one book for on topic eg.modern india-spectrum,quantitative aptitude-Arun sharma
2.Remember the information-study the same book again and again-for history remember the information,for quants remember the concepts,can also remember the problems..there is nothing wrong remembering...a person with memory can succeed even if he is not intelligent..for SSC there are 200 standard problems try to remember the problems with concepts.
3.Analyse the information-you have already remembered the information or concepts now try to apply for eg create your own question and think how i can write the answers..create your own problems and try to answer them
4.Practise the question papers or test series,if you score less marks reapeat step 2 and 3.
some of the common mistakes people do
1.Read many books without any plan..theyll work for 18 hours..and they satisfy themselves that they are working hard..atlast theyll get dissappointed
2.Never try to remember they just read through the books

Try to find where you guys do mistake and try to correct it..no one can stop you from succeeding..:D

sir actually where i was posted in rajasthan. that was a rural area.
salery - 15000. incentive - not much because of small amount policies.
and its your taste if you like marketing job then this could be the best.
but i don't think this is a prestigious job.
