This is utter crap. Trainers at TPR are all TPR US Certified and they undergo a rigorous GMAT/GRE/SAT training.
Also, the scores speak a lot about us and individual opinion should try not be derogatory. This post calls for a strict action and defamation suite after verifying the IP address of the person who posted it. We shall take a prompt action in this regard.
The Princeton Material is best taught by princeton faculty. We are present world-wide in 25 countries across 1100 Locations which speaks a lot about a brand and presence.

Surprising that you would actually dare talking about filing a lawsuit. How did you infer that the post was meant for defaming you. It was well the opinion of one member and you have NO right to gag somebody here. If you try to do that, then you are unwelcome here.

Please go through the following post which appeared in The New York Times exposing the fraud at Princeton Review. Don't worry, one of the members on PG didn't post it there. It was written by the journos there. I hope that you don't file a case against The NYT now :-D

Secondly, being present in a lot of locations across countries doesn't necessarily mean that the products being offered are good. It's just that Princeton review started 30-40 years back so it had the advantage of starting early when there were not many players in Test Prep, but now the situation is changing with time and Princeton Review has been unable to keep up with the changes. That's a fact. I know that PR is very good at promoting itself and that's why even without quality products, some students are bound to fall for the advertisements.

Guys,please make informed decisions.I'm not saying that don't join PR. If you like their instructor or books then do join them but firstly do a good amount of research/talk to their faculty and find out about their credentials and what exactly would they teach in the class and how will they help you .OR buy PR's Crack the GMAT book or for that matter any book by Princeton Review and you are wise enough to decide for yourself . :)
I am an active member on the PG and can lose my cool absolutely when representatives of these coaching classes try to stiffle the voices of others.

1. Each class consists of 2 hrs of lecture, which includes doubt solving time . The class is always late by half an hour.
2. They only read the things given in their manual and ask you to solve the official guide yourself and then blame you for not solving enough problems and ask you to practice when your score does not improve even after 3 months of training.
3. They teach strategies that are easily available in books and internet. Strategies actually required for GMAT are not taught and whatever is taught can be easily understood by reading available books and browsing internet.
4. They have an online tool... which everybody has .. they clam to have unique computer adaptive tests... nothing unique ... better versions available at other international institutes .
5. Refer Kaplan and Manhattan review which are far superior to Princeton Review's material.
*** Actually we all feel the need to join coaching class to get things done .. but truth is just get the books based on reviews on internet, register to some online tool that has 5-10 GMAT CAT tests, study everyday for min. 2 hrs, and practice giving full fledged tests and then review them.

Are there any GMAT style online tests available. I have started preparing but I am in a dilemma whether to join any coaching or not. My main reason to join any institute is to get enough mock/practice tests. So if anyone can tell me any institute/online perp tool where I can get enough tests/mocks then that would be great.

As someone from the GMAT test prep industry, here are the very basics before you sign up for the course:

1) Sit for a live class. A class which has other people sitting around you - actually learning stuff. This will give you a feel of the deal. Many test prep companies try to create a "demo" class which is taken by the star faculty (rest are by the flunkies). Don't fall for it.

2) Talk to students out the class to check how they felt. Ask if they did their R&D; and why the feel such and such class is good. They may give some individual feedback - try to see if it works for you (i.e. someone may say its far from home but may not apply to you, they may say that the material was too hard etc).

3) If possible talk to the faculty and try to understand their perspective about the GMAT. Also check if the guy can support you when you run into difficulty during the prep post the course - when you need his/her support the most.

I have heard negative reviews of all coaching institutes for gmat in pune. It appeared to me as if Scoreplus(Princeton) is better than others (low batch strength though expensive), until I read this.

Now, I have a few questions -

1. Is your criticism directed to a particular centre of Scoreplus (i.e. Deccan or Camp).. Or your assessment is in general ??

2. If Scoreplus isn't that good, which one is better for gmat coaching in pune ? (better in terms of instructors/their experience/past record etc.)

P.S. - Although I understand studying on your own may also work wonders, but it hasn't worked for me in the past(CAT )

I actually don't think that is has much to do with demo. Anybody can be his/her best during the demo. The problem with princeton is that their whole strategy of teaching tips/tricks during the classes is flawed. I have had many friends who joined Princeton but gave the same feedback. There is no focus on conceptual clarity.
