Hi fellow GMATters,

I'm taking the GMAT this September. I was initially planning to apply for B-schools last year so I could depart this fall however work obligations, and some personal reasons made me postpone. After alot of dilly dallying I have finally booked my GMAT date for the 12th Sep...phew!

And now the jitters are finally arriving - study group sounds fantastic. We can perhaps help each other complementing where the other falls short. I for one am extremely comfortable with verbal (being a lawyer), however Quant is an area alien to me.

Please share your gyan, experience, tips.

I'm on the verge of joining Manya Princeton Review Centre in Gurgaon this Saturday. Good decision?

Anyone heard of Pythagurus? Are they any good?

@codejammar- Well I have not started with preparation. My classes to start from 17th June. My bro did his SAT coaching from princeton and seemed very impressed by the teachers.

I ahve got the study material which seems very easy. Started with Quant section it was damn easy. I will update about the teachers and atmosphere there once the classes get started.

Ont important thing to consider
* knewton course didn't interest me
* ******** people are just cons
* the most positive reviews that i have by now are for Manhattan and Princeton.

The course material is also quite simpler and colorful for Princeton than for Manahattan. So I chose to go for Princeton to start with the basics and once i feel confident I will start practicising with Manhattan Books.

@ssharma - Do i really need to refer the books mentioned in the subsequent posts or will a good hold basics can help me get a full score? I dont want to confuse myself with a lot of books around and grabbing none completely. So will princeton course material, official GMAT guide and Manhattan books enough? PLz reply asap Then i will dedicate time to my GMAT prep accordingly.

Had a quick question, I plan to take GMAT in second week of September so wanted to know earliest by when will I be able to apply for any B schools.Like I know of ISB the the round 2 of it ends on Nov 30th, so will the result reach the Bschool till then from GMAT

No clue about the institute, but I guess most of the efforts are required from individuals; as the institutes are covering basics for each topic's in max 4 classes of 3 hours in weekend's;

By paying it will help as you will be little more motivated and will be regular unless you give your exam.

It's never late ... but if you are panning for Indian B Schools like IIM A or others ... I guess it's late : as I checked IIM A they are accepting score for those before August 10, 2012.

Again, new to the GMAT thing.
Planning to take GMAT "when September ends".
Please guide whether I should join in some coaching institute in Delhi. Spending money is not at all an issue.
BTW, I am looking forward to Manya Abroad (Princeton Review), Rajouri Garden Center.
Please guide as I don't have much time left before I take the final decision of joining the institute.

I'm appearing for my GMAT in the second week of September '12 in Mumbai. For starters, I would like to know what books are the best for reference (acers please help!)

I know of the following, I would like to know they're sufficient or whether I'd be needing more materials to brave the G-storm. I've sat for the GMAT once before in 2010 and scored a 670 (with barely any studying and routine). However, this time I'm looking at a more realistic shot - with the right study materials and the right amount of hardwork.

So, the 'good' books that I've picked/planning to pick up for my Herculean attempt are :

1 - OG 13 and 12 - Obviously [ You get a soft copy of 12 with the 13th paperback]

2 - SC Grail

3 - Manhattan SC

4 - Manhattan Quant (I'm guessing all three of them; considering all their good reviews I've read on PG)

5 - Powerscore Bible for CR

Please let me know if there should be any additions/modifications with the above list. Do you think the OGs alone would be sufficient for RC?

I haven't yet picked up book nos 3,4,5 yet so I would highly appreciate if someone could help me with the latest soft copies of any/all of them.

Again, toppers are more than welcome with any gyaan that they might want to give!!
