Hey guys, checkout the amazing lessons on GMAT from the InfiniteStudent website.. Their math course has been built by an IIT dude, and it helped me big time.. They have just recently come out with an English course. The teacher is Canadian and won worldwide instructor of the year at Veritas, which is suppose to be one the best gmat coaching centers in america/canada. I just can't wait for their sentence correction lessons to come out soon. I am sure it will help all of us big time!

"will go" indicates a one time action, a for of infinitive. "will be going" means that in the future, there will be a continuous action of "going", which is not the implied meaning here.

Secondly, there is one point that is ignored. You are presenting a list of 3 people. Instead there can be a list of 3 actions. And if ALL 3 are part of the list, separate them with commas. So you present like this:

X, Y, and Z

where

list element 1: X

list element 2: Y

If you ask me outside of GMAT, I would say that verb-ed modifier work pretty much in the same way as verb-ing modifiers do. i.e. they are versatile modifiers that modify preceding clause when they are separated by comma (Thus, the modifier tired but excited modifies the subject "he" and not the "match) and the closest noun phrase when they are not separated by comma. Thus, in the context of general English, the sentence you have stated is correct. "tired and excited" applies to "he" or the preceding clause. It basically extends the thought presented in the preceding clause.But if you ask me in the context of GMAT, I would say that the rule that I stated earlier applies. i.e. verb-ed modifiers always modify the closest noun phrase. @EducationAisle thanks for prompt reply...but as per OG11 Q132 it's "One view of the economy contends that a large drop in oil prices should eventually lead to..." sorry i asked for a large decline instead a large drop...both expression same or different?

is the expression "Strawberries and ice-cream is a high calorie snack." correct?

and one last querry...its regarding Like Vs As..

Just like a glass of water that will not overflow due to melting ice cubes, so melting sea ice does not increase oceanic volume. is the usage of like correct? we know that like is used to compare nouns and noun phrases..in that way a glass of water is a noun phrase and the expression "that will not...." is a modifier...so usage of like is correct..does it make sense?
