1) I have done BBA from IGNOU can I give GMAT???????

2) What is the minimum exp. required to get international colg.?

3) I have taken a cat coaching so do i need to take coaching again?

4) From where can i get a study material?

I think that you should be able to appear for your gmat..

- If you are looking at US unis then I believe you might need 16 years of education for some colleges, though it depends on the college you are applying to

- Quality experience of around 3 -4 years should place you in good standing

- You gmat score would carry a lot of weight, so take your best shot at that

- You could look up online, u could find some good resources. Also you could also look up the different forums, they might be helpful.

Hi guys, I am new to this forum & came here looking for guidance in relation to the GMAT/MBA Abroad topic.

My Profile:-

Xth - 83% XII - 78%

Did my Engg in Comp Sc from a state univ with 70% marks.

Decent extra curriculars in college.

Work ex - Involved in my family business for last 4 years.

But now I wanted to change my career path by joining a top B-School & migrating to finance field(passion/interest being the reason). Just wanted to know what are my chances of getting into a top B School & whether it is possible to change my field to finance even though I don't have much exp in that sector? I have completed 2 levels of CFA too a few years back keeping in mind I wanted to change my field in the future so it might help.

Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.

Lot would depend on how well you perform in your GMAT. Also the kind of experience that you have got while working in your family business and how you make admissions see it would help you.
Its good that you have chosen finance and you must have your reasons and would be passionate about it. Making admissions see it in your whole application would help. Your CFA would complement not only in your MBA application but also in your job prospects. So just narrow down on the right college and right university for urself and you should be all set...

Hey Guys, just wanted to give you guys a few tips about the gmat score and how it is looked at by the admissions 1. Try to have a high Gmat score, try to keep it atleast above 660 and preferably above 680. This not only gives you an edge in MBA admissions but would also help you while you apply for jobs to top firms (yes, you have to fill in your gmat score, while applying to some top companies), 2. Don't overdo your application and don't bluff too much (we are able to see it), be honest about yourself 3. "Apply for" It is hard to believe that it has been 3 months since you are preparing for GMAT!

Anyways the question on which universities to apply 'to' is very open ended and elaborate. I refrain from answering such questions since it is more of a personal decision and also because counselors make a living out of this. As for your second question, besides your GMAT scores, you will need academic transcripts, letter of recommendations, a number of essays, a CV and a few other things

Before you pose another blatant question I suggest you open admissions page of any random university program. It will answer all your questions. Research yourself first.

Guys, I attempted the first GMAT prep test yesterday. I started with AWA , then followed with IR before the other two ( basically attempted the starting 2 sections as well, which many people neglect when they do at home). I have scored a miserable 580. Quant - 47 and Verbal - 23. Now, what I found is that the test had 17 SCs, 11 CRs and 13 questions on passages. Is this how the questions are distributed in actual exam as well. 17 questions on SC surprised me after I was doing the analysis. I was under the impression that all the questions are almost equally from 3 sections. Can it be because I might be doing a lot of errors ? I mean, is there any such stats that when a person starts answering more wrongs, the adaptive test starts throwing more SCs. Also, in one passage, I had only 1 question. I answered in correctly and that was immediately followed by an SC. Is it a normal thing ?an RC containing only 1 question ?

hello all, This is Rish (24 M), i did my B.E mech Engg from a reputed Engineering college, got a job with Hyundai and have currently 2yrs W.E. I am all fascinated, excited to do an MBA in Operations & Information sytem (pertaining to the job) for a lot of Obvious reasons.Streamlined Canada and a list of universities in canada that offer my course , am all ready fro giving the GMAT (pretty sure of a 670 +).But the real hitch is which season to choose.Either join Jan 2014 for a 2 years MBA or Ausust2014 intake for 1 year MBA (will be having 3+ experience by the time i choose the latter)I cannot extend my MBA studies farther than that due to personal reasons.(even got permission from my GF only till 2015 end).Kindly provide me with the pros and cons of choosing 2014 Jan (2yrs) & 2014 sep (1yr)

GMAT is totally different cup of tea, OG -12 is the must have book for GMAT prep.
GMAT quant is easy as compared to CAT , but yes CAT quant ll help you in GAMT.
