Nice to see a GMAT group being formed for Chandigarh. I had taken the exam in December 2008. I have the OG 11, OG for Math and OG for Verbal reviews with me. As I have already taken my exam, I am planning to sell these books to someone. I have taken utmost care not to mark anything on the books and use the answering sheets provided at the end instead. Please PM me for more details.

ALSO, if anyone plans to take up GMAT coaching at JAMB OREE, please talk to me first before going there.

I plan to write my gmat in jan '09. I have bought the foll books -og 11th edition,kaplan 800,kaplan verbal,official quant, acro essys.Do i need to buy any other book? also how shud I start preparing for it, since I have no cat studying experience?
If any gmat taker frm chandigarh is present, I would like to ask for the best gmat coaching institute.I visited 4 of them yesterday
1.)********-nominal fee,don't seem to have good experience
2.)bull's eye- the counsellor was good but do not provide computer aided training
3.)IMS- the counselling and material seems good but fee is 16k
4.)tcy-the knowledge about gmat is good but lack in prep and study material
so what do u suggest?
pls do suggest me how shud I go about in preperation for gmat since i have more than 5 months?

I have done self preparation for CAT lst year but i guess there was one area tht self preparation does let u down is time management.....i guess i speak for myself only and i m not grt at managing time so i need someone to watch my time as i write the test.....and also i think i missed out on a few tips and tricks during self prep....

just form a good group and discuss material (which you can have in plenty from esnips.com)..........

Related to earlier query of a good institute , one of the name that I have heard is of ******** at sec 17 but I am yet to validate it . By this weekend I hope I will be in a position to come out with a name .

Thats great!!..so i am chatting with a Doctor right...Well i am a civil engineer and working with an MNC in Gurgaon.My parents are in chandigarh and i come to chandigarh at every weekend.
I am also looking forward to GMAT.so Have u started preparing or whats the level of ur practice.Did u Give any Mock CATS..i mean GMAT PREP TESTS OR any princenton tests...etc..
so what after PHD..are u working in PGI after Ur PHD..

I dont think that IMS and BullsEye etc are worth it...self-study is a better option

If you want GMAT/GRE coaching centres, try any MBA centres like Bullseye, CL TIME, etc.
For giving the actual exam, there's none here, the nearest centre is at Delhi, book your date in advance.

By the way are u a graduate or pursuing any graduate course..

Are you looking for coaching institutes...
IMS is really good institute.
But i would rather suggest you that there is lot of online material available.And you can easily prepare from that.so there is actually no need to go for an institute.
But finally its your own decision.
