Hi All,

I have been going through all the post's for more than a hour and all i have learnt from the post is that either Princeton or Manhattan are good for coaching but none of the puys who have joined either of these have given any concrete feedback on these institutes.
Requesting all to please give their valuable feedback so that it becomes a little easier for others like me who have just moved to hyd to join an institute.

Just a suggestion, might be totally useless, but just for the sake of prolixity, my 2 cents:

If you are shifting solely for the purpose of GMAT, my suggestion, if possible, come to Bangalore, there are plenty of great options, you can choose the institute after taking demo classes at all.
Some reputed and specialist institutes in Blore for GMAT are Crackverbal & EducationAisle. Online classes are also offered by MBA Crystal Ball in association with Knewton, which is also very reputed worldwide.

If you do decide to come to Blore, pm me, I will help you find accomodation.

Hey dude , I have just been to the introduction class . If you can wait for a week or two then i will surely give you a good feedback about Princeton . But up till now everything else is good and met some of the lectures and they are good too . At present i am pretty optimistic that it is good .

I have gone thru some threads where people made equally bad comments about Princeton Review and Manhattan Review...But Still leaving all those comments I've decided to go for one of these 2 classes. IMS and TIME are not in my list now..

@pbindu: AFAIK ISB FPM is now best in country, followed by IIM A/C/B/L in that order. For HR, XLRI is unquestionably best! XLRI/IIM I/MDI/IIT Madras(DOMS) also offers part time PhD/FPM (apart from their full time programs) once u gain some years(~5) of post-MBA experience. Due to my location advantage, I have been to ISB campus multiple times, they say cracking ISB FPM is quite difficult as compared to MBA, they expect some Research acumen as well! Good Luck!

As a Moderator I take care of the Entire section so I think of the greater good - Two threads open for the same location cause confusion and cross-posting. Both are things I'd like to avoid. I've been moderating for a long time so yes, I know this for a fact.

You haven't provided any useful reason other than "let the market decide" Unfortunately the market only thinks about now while I'm thinking of time down the line when some newbie comes in and reads through the threads. It's easier for them to find information in one place rather than scattered in multiple threads. Dont you think so?

@Akkumon: May be you can share some of ur GMAT exp (I don't mean question Mr Moderator if u r reading this) like which section is most tricky and time consuming while prep etc.

@pbindu: FPM/PhD program application deadlines are generally much later(4-5 months) after the regular MBA deadlines, so I guess u can still give MBA a shot, may be in 1st cycle (considering u r still deciding b/w the two)

As of now I am focussing to apply for colleges in India. As far as studies in the US or any other countries go the tuition fees + other expenses will be in the upwards of 110,000$. So its a bit difficult to arrange for the funds. But we can get international loans upto 85% of the fees.

Is there anybody who has a considerable amount of preparation. I have already prepared for the gmat. trying for 700+. I am stuck at 650. Anybody there whos planning to give gmat in 1-2 months time, please contact!

Just to get you started about the GMAT just have a look at the The Official GMAT Website
this will give you a fair idea about the test format etc...
as far as the prep goes, you can use the following material:
1. OG 11
2. Kaplan 800
that should get you started...
All the top B schools in the world accept the GMAT score for admission.
In India GMAT score is valid only for the Executive MBA programs, following are the colleges which accept the score in India:
1. IIM A,B,C and L (new additions might be there)
2. ISB
3. SP Jain
4. XLRI
5. Great Lakes Institute.

This should get you started...

Coming to your question . There are many insts in Hyd which provide GMAT coaching . I have done a little amount of research and was left out with either Princeton , Manhattan , TIME or IMS .

Princeton and Manhattan carry quiet a lot of reputation behind them ( again only a personal perspective ) . Had these two insts in Madhapur . After taking some suggestions from fellow puys and frnds , i joined Princeton Madhapur recently .

So i would suggest that you find out the insts which are near by your place and which is comfortable to you and then join in .

got around 550 score, disappointing but still a long way to go .
Immediately understood that sentence correction plays a vital role . So trying to spend
more time on it .

I am taking GMAT in May 2012. I'm IT professional with 5 yrs wrk ex, got admit in IIM K and I in 2010 but rejected both. Now after ~2 yrs gap exam prep is not as smooth as it used 2 be. So looking for serious peers to cruise through the GMAT journey! I prefer self-study mode & wont mind sharing the materials I have with my peer group.

The lines I have highlighted are simply too much to ignore.
Do you guys think you need to be spoon-fed and need a headmaster over your shoulder everytime you go into a class?
GMAT is a test of reasoning and logic, just completing your assignments will do you no good.

Coming to the next part, RUN away from any place that refuses a demo class, shelling 18K without a demo class is IMO Hara Kiri. You might as well transfer the money into my account and I will provide you personal tuitions via skype.

Getting students who have scored 750 might have some contribution from the institute but I seriously doubt whether there are such people. If you go through all the debriefs on PG, probably(im guesstimating here)only 10-15% of the puys scoring 720 above would have taken coaching.

ok here is some info on princeton madhapur which i have inquired today. A fresh batch (10-12 members) is starting on nxt sunday, classes (3hr session) would be on weekends. they are providing study material and access to 5 CAT tests and also online assignments should be submitted after every class. fee is whooping 18k..is this reasonable?? I have prepared quite a lot for cat 2011, and my exam went well. Still as cat is very unpredictable, i wanna appear for GMAT too and try for some colleges abroad..

Please suggest me a study plan and the books which should be used from now on(considering that i have prepared for cat) . I wanna appear for Gmat by the last week of JAN .please tell me how many months of prep should be sufficient ? ( i can devote about 4 hours of daily preps)?

I am not sure about the best place, bt dude do check properly before joining any of the classes, all the big brand classes are run by some small local companies. So take reviews from old students if u could catch hold of them.
I have burnt my fingers at one place by paying token amount(check out my old posts) now I am joining other classes, first class is on next tuesday will let you know if my feedback.
