I am in the same boat. Been waitlisted since round 1!! I spoke with a current student at UIUC and she said that the decision on waitlisted candidates might take as long as June or July, which is very concerning since the adcom indicated that the same should be out by mid-May!

If anybody has heard from the school recently, please share your inputs.

It has been 3 months since we received the waitlist decision. So I just wanted to know if anyone (with or without an interview) had received an update.

Looks like no one had heard anything for quite long now.

I got an email, saying that I had requested them to give me a decision soon, so they had pushed me with R1 candidates, but that didnt yield a interview call.

So now they have put me back to the R2 Crowd and re analyzing my profile. Lets c how it goes.

UIUC is a really good school to get into.

Has ny other R2 applicant hrd from them yet?

I guess UIUC received a good number of well rounded applications in R1 and thus the gmat score is low for R2 indian applicants.
Anyways, a 1 year MSTM will not align with the goals of candidates who want to switch careers. Good luck with the rest of applications!!

I applied to many to almost 8 colleges... in those i got through Univ. of Minnesota , and UNC kenana Flager - waiting list...

Other schools still waiting for the final decision... what abt u ??

1-2 things i really like about the program are:
1) they have a flexible curriculum for second year, you can take any class you want. UIUC is ranked among top 5 for undergraduate and we all can take part in any undergraduate class Such as accounting, law and economics etc. They are also one of the best in IT in US, so again we can gain tremendous knowledge there.
2) International experience is a must for students from this year onwards. UIUC has tie ups with some of the top universities across the world. You can spend 1-2 weeks to a full semester in some of these top universities.

so overall there are lot of things to do and tremendous knowledge to be gained.

We will also need to find partners for lodging. I have some links with students who are studying there. let me know who is interested in forming a group to rent an apartment. Normally its a 4 bedroom apartment, so we need 4 people (boys).

I got an email from them asking me to submit the official scores.

I'm not really counting on UIUC and wud not want to spend ny more money unless its absolutely necessary

Don't worry, it takes about 4-6 weeks in reviewing your application. They will inform you as soon as a decision is made.

So it kinda depends. Anyway, I am not joining UIUC and have opted instead for Sauder at UBC. So that means, another vacancy from the pool of Indian applicants. From your other posts, I've come to know that you were awarded scholarship of 5K per year at Sauder. Did you accept the offer with the same scholarship or did you ask for more scholarship?

Who all of those who got admits have decided on taking admissions at UIUC? I saw many had got an admit but of these who all are sure they are taking it up? Is there a list maintained of people - accepting / not accepting and still not sure? Actually I am still confued.. Did any one check with alumni or curretn students ?

They usually take a month to get back to you. I think you would hear from them in the first week of March.

@raul_4u I could see two different post from you one saying waitlisted other saying shortlisted..... can you please share the exact situation or if it was earlier waitlisted but now it has been converted to shortlisted.........

I got an admit last year but defered my admission to this year. So i am also in for this year.
