Hello Folks!

I am a bit of a late starter out here! Got my scholarship decision just a week back and have decided to join Cox MBA Class of 2011 starting this August.

For the record, I have been working with TCS since more than three and a half years, with the last 18 months in UK. Now totally hooked on to the paperwork required to get the I20 and thereafter the F1 Visa!

Good to see that future batch-mates have started getting to know each other very well out here. Will stay in touch from here on, and will keep popping up questions about the visa process to those who are through with all their preparations and are now somewhat 'cooling their heels' before they finally head towards Dallas.

I have sent a PM to you. I prepared a lot for the VISA interview... i mean the paper work and all.. but the officer just asked very basic 4-5 questions and didnt ask for any doc. The questions were:
Why do you want to go to US?
What have you been doing in INDIA?
Why have you chosen this school?
I can see you have a schol but where are you getting the rest of the money from? ( I mentioned family and edu loan.. he didnt even ask for the sanction letter)
Do you intend to work in US?

One of my friend ( another PGite) with 750 score apped in R2 for cox. He had a telephonic interview at feb 10th or so and his result was declared in less than a week. A admit ofcourse . I didn't see any post of his here. So u can count on him in the admits list. Neverthless he is not going to join cox.

I too got interviewed in cox in bangalore on feb 19th and patti said, results would be out in march 1st week. All these while i presumed i got a ding seeing so much delay. Hmm..i guess i can continue presuming the same now

Has anyone contacted recently again?

Does that mean the R2 results are not yet out?

I am not able to assess how many Indians write here ??:.

I did read the post earlier that says 3 Indians are in as per pagalguy. Anyways, did R1 applicants learn exactly how many Indians are in?

I have joined the official facebook group for Cox MBA Class of 2011 and saw 4 Indians out of total 12 admits. HTH!

but i also got an offer from Katz-pitt of 32K.. (total mba prog fee is 49K)

i'm confused whether to join Cox or katz bcoz i've heard cox is good for finance and marketing not for IT.. and katz is good for IT.

also looking at my background and recent recession in US, i wud like to major in Information systems for a career related to IT only.

cud u plz guide me on it... and if u hv any smu-contact. cud u plz share it with me. other than that. how much are the living expenses/month?

Congratz for your admits!!!
When deciding on school you should consider the brand name and the location... the advantage with Cox is that it is in Dallas... and is the most reputed school in that area... Cox ranks high in networking which is one of the most important aspect of an MBA....
you can contact current students at Cox thru its website....
the living expenses in Dallas is 600-800$ a month...

Ya... Cox gives a lot of schols..... At an average profile I hav got $58K schol..

Wow...40K US is a lot of financial aid. I would suspect that that would get you very far.
