Why would anyone go to RSM? RSM is quite clearly a third-rate programme that looks set to fall dramatically in the rankings in the coming years. I would not be surprised if the MBA programme was shut down. I hear nothing but negative comments from alumni and they say such things as "RSM ruined my life." From what I understand, the management team is completely incompetent and the programme has gone down hill for at least half a dozen years. The statistics bear this out. According to RSM's own statistics, available here http://www.rsm.nl/fileadmin/Images_NEW/MBA/FTMBA/MBA_Career_Development_Centre_Report_2010-2011.pdf the number of students even being offered a job by graduation decreased from 81% in 2010 to 52.7% in 2011. Given that RSM holds graduation 3 months after classes end, instead of right after classes end like every other school I'm aware of, this means that RSM students can expect to only have a 50/50 chance of even being offered a job, let alone accepting a good offer, 3 months after classes end. For top schools in the US and Europe the job acceptance rate is 90%+ in most schools, with the lower end being 80%+. And according to RSM's statistics, graduates of RSM now make less than $80k on average. This is far below what top schools report and is only $10k to $15k more than what undergraduates make coming out of bachelor's programmes at business schools.

Well guys, it was late by the time I applied in early Sep, or so I thought, but I got the in'veiw call in 2-3 weeks. It was a long 1 hr telephonic conversation and began, like most others, by easing me down a little, before it got tough.

Career fairs take place where one gets to learn of job opportunities available and interact with people from various companies and build a network. You will do projects with various companies. In addition, students tap into the alumni network of the school to get in touch with old students. The whole game is that of networking. The career placement cells at all these institutes will give you contacts, help you choose the right job profile, help you with your CV, etc.

Many people say that getting a job in the EU today is impossible. That is not correct. As long as you do your MBA from a good institute in Europe (LBS, INSEAD, IESE - T1, or RSM, HEC, - T2) you will get a job. You only have to network and work with the career team from day 1. Those who do not network at all, go back post the course completion.

Also, look at the Visa policies of various countries. The UK for e.g. gives one only 4 months from the date of graduation to find work. If one is unable to do so, he/she has to go back. In Holland the time frame is 1 year. It varies from country to country and you might want to factor that in when taking a call.

It depends on the other applications they have received and the number of places still left for the next class. You could call them up and ask. Mine took 12 days for them to confirm that I have been selected for the interview.

Hi Puys,

I had a Skype interview with Ms. Maria Rosa Parra for admission to the Jan'2013 intake of the RSM MBA programme.

A very short interview vis-a-vis others that have been conducted for other applicants to RSM. Mine lasted only 20 minutes. So, my inference is - either they loved me and cut the interview short or they got so put off that they decided to cut it short; God only knows.

The final result will be communicated via email in 10 odd days. However, I have a gut feeling that I will get the email by Monday or Tuesday.

I'm an RSM aspirant and have been following the thread for sometime now. I also attended the I'nal RSM tour to India on 5th Mar at B'lore and met Mr Bart Scheenard, although it was more of a 1-2-1 meet, but quite informative.

My questions are regarding the program and whether they admit people with higher experience. I have about 10 years in gen admin with non-profit org. GMAT 660 and very good ECs. I also have an ex MBA and another masters with educational performance being average.

Second, how are the job prospects if anyone has heard from an RSM alum or a student attending the program presently. I do know that the program is worth the time, effort and dough, but it is the placements one has to keep an eye on. I look forward to working in UK and considering the change in visa rules there, any other place in EU seems implausible as of now.

At first its not late to apply, the program starts in Jan so there is time. Ur profile looks good, however try writing ur essays very well and true to urself since they ask a lot of Qs on that.
