I have also applied for the Oct 3 deadline. As I didn't get any update from them till this week, I mailed them asking the status. They replied that they'll need one more week as no of applications are huge.

Any one aware of the travel benefits for students pursuing MBA in NL? I heard that students in NL get to travel free (on a student travel card) or at a very discounted price. Is that benefit available to MBA students as well ?

Classes normally start the first week in Jan So its either going to be the 2nd or the 8th ( I would put money on the 8th) I would come 2 weeks before classes start to settle yourself. Need to get an OV Chip card to ride the public transportation system. Obtaining a bank is sometimes difficult (ABN AMRO). The farmers markets are a couple times a week for fresh produce. I felt bad for the people who came a couple of days before school started... they were so stressed and had to miss classes to go to doctors appointments and visa appointments.

Even I had my interview today at Taj, Bangalore.
It was very, very similar to how you described your experience. Except for a few questions here and there. I was told that the adcom will sit at the end of February and I should receive a final decision not later than first week of March.

I have got an offer for the Jan 2012 intake for the RSM MBA program. I wanted to ask the group what are the career prospects post MBA in Netherlands. Also, does anyone know any alumni from India?

Rahul, I don't know about the ING loan thing..... maybe someone else can answer. If you get accepted RSM offer letter will mention a date by which you need to send the deposit. When I applied i was given 5 weeks to deposit the money and send the signed documents back but I am guessing you would get less time since its late in the cycle. As far as money is concerned you will need -
1)5000 for the initial deposit
2)17000 my mid december
3) Remaining 17000 by may/june (You can see the exact date on the website)
4) 600 for visa and residence permit (College submits application on your behalf.) with visa application
5) if you take housing from the university then a 600 housing deposit, then aprox. 3000 by mid december remaining around may/june 2012

I hope that gives you a better idea of the total expenses.

Hi RSM Admits,

I have applied to RSM on 3rd Oct for the Jan 2012 intake.

However, i'm concerned that even if I'm selected I may have too less time to arrange finances. I was hoping to get the ING Bank Loan to fund my studies. I have a few queries, would appreciate if people who have got an admit and are planning to finance through the ING Loan share their inputs and guide me on the same.

1) The RSM website mentions that 5000 EUR to be paid by 'Registration Deadline', which would be mentioned in the admit letter. Can the people who have got the admit please share this date. Is this date same for each person or does it depend on when the admit letter was sent?

2) Did people who got an early admit have enough time to pay the 5000 EUR deposit through a bank loan, or did they have to pay from their own funds?

3) If anyone has applied for the ING loan can they please share their experience. What are the chances of getting the loan?

4) Is there any minimum last year's income criteria? I was seeing in some old forums that the loan is not given to people who had less than 30000 EUR income. Is this true?

5) How long does it take for the loan application to be given the provisional OK?

6) The first installment of 17000 EUR is to be paid by 13th December. Is this date a hard and fast requirement? The ING loan will get final approval only when the applicant meets the bank official at the start of the course in Jan 2012. So how will someone depending on the ING loan pay the first installment of the fees? How are the guys who have got an admit managing this... are you using your personal funds for the time being?

Hey, congrats for the interview call. Interview was on expected lines as the ones mentioned at the beginning of this thread.

Usual questions of - Why MBA ? Why now ? Why Rotterdam ? plus a few questions of some aspects of your essays like the most difficult decision etc. For me, the interview progressed more like a discussion with Maryke and was not at all stressful. I suggest you go through the first few posts detailing the interviews and I guess it has been the same way with most of us.

well, in my case it was about month between app and call. But then again, I think it depends how close to the evaluation dates you apply to - which you wouldn't know beforehand anyways...

I would say, don't worry about it too much if you have sent across a good application...and as we see from here and the FB group, there are still chances of a few more Indian admits considering previous years trends..so just keep you fingers crossed and maybe keep going on with your other applications in the meantime :)

usually the adcom reviews the apps in a bunch probably every month or so. You should be getting an email soon saying that completed app has been received and by when it will be evaluated.

Hey ryandark, I think 600 might be low try to better it. Aim for 700 but 650+ might be good for rsm.

As far as deadline is concerned.... I think in the last few batches they have had around 25 Indian students. From this board and a facebook page for admitted students I would say that some more Indian students will get admits but don't delay the app much. I think there are a couple of people on this very forum who applied late and were deferred to this year..... so earlier is better.

At 27 you can wait for another year and try to build up your profile. Do some social work etc but honestly speaking I don't think extras matter unless you have something really good to show. So don't worry about it. Just focus on a good GMAT score, good essays, recommendations & interview if they call you.

Yes I am an Indian working in NL. I will submit my application this week and hope to get an interview call.

Another info is that they have an MBA information session on 16th of august in their campus. If you guys have any specific questions regarding the college or course let me know, will ask them.

Regarding your scholarship query, is it not applicable once you enroll to the MBA programme? They have published on their website that scholarship applications are available in Junuary only.
