Xth - 71% XIIth- 72% B.Tech - 7.56 GPA
WP: in IT sector since July'11
Wanna join NUS on Aug'13 batch. Writing GMAT on Jan'13. Need suggestions badly from initial stages.

Can anyone let me know the total expense of doing MBA from NUS? The expense must also include the accomodation and meal costs for the entire stay. And also , what are the initial packages that are offered to NUS passouts?Thanks a lot .

Yes, I applied Mar 17th. I had my interview April 26th and received my admit May 3rd.

Yes, I applied Mar 17th. I had my interview April 26th and received my admit May 3rd.

vipul2013 ahh .. well I am from the most competitive demographic .. IT Indian male and i submitted my app on 31st March .. i won't be totally surprised if I don't get a call at all ... anyways .. have a great time at NUS .. cheers !!

BS: Carnegie Mellon (Chemical Engineering)
PhD: UC Santa Cruz
PostDoc: UC Berkeley
6 years industry experience in biotech and solar energy.

Presently, I'm a Sr. Materials Scientist at a start-up in San Francisco. I have wanted to move to Singapore for sometime and also do a career shift to Private Equity & Venture Capital. I thought an NUS MBA would be a great way to do both.

They did not ask me any of the expected questions except for "why an MBA"? They spent a long time asking me how I planned to execute my career plans (ie. how would I get into Private Equity).

I woke up to a 'Waitlist' email from NUS. Unfortunately for me, the wait continues. Mining last year's forums, I've gathered that NUS waitlists a significantly high no: of applicants, even upto 500+(not sure how accurate this is) and so, I'm not being very optimistic. Fingers crossed!

sahimal2010 Most factors are in favour of NUS (cost, location, weather etc.) - except 1- In case one meets the worst case scenario and does not get placed during the MBA - Rotman offers a 3 year work permit which gives sufficient time to find the ideal job - as opposed to NUS, where you either strike during the course or come back home. Your views?

totalf1 Disagree, don't buy the premise that you won't find a job! NUS is a really good school and currently one of the best in the region. Along with INSEAD and HKUST its a Top 3 school [no comment on ranking between them ;)] so the parallel I can draw for you is, "do you imagine a day in the next 2 years where IIM A, B, C grads don't get a job?" I think you'll find your doubts easing.

Just inquired yesterday regarding any update from NUS, got a reply that due to huge volume of apps, 2 more weeks will be required. My status on admission portal still shows "Application Completed". Anyone else with the same status?
