Nanyang has a minimum requirement of GMAT 600..check out their FAQs...also since you are just short of it mail the adcomm for considering ur case....

i just got a mail from Nanyang(interviewed on 20th may) stating that i shud increase my work-ex and contact them b4 march 2008 for the 2008-09 academic year and a final decision will only then be taken. Wat a let-down. please scrap back if any1 received a similar response. ATB to all.

I am still waiting to hear from them, my app status says app in progress... As per the data on their website, the academic calendar would have started by now and they haven't even informed candidates as to whether they are rejected?

i hv been calln up at 006567904825 (Ms. Estella) n 00656 7906183 (Ms Eunice Kwoh)...

Now after calling/mailing two three times finally the adcom told me that they will let me know by the end of this week.

Snce its alredy wednesday, i again called up to enquire and some other person told me that it will take two weeks.

I have tried calling up a lot of times, but its either engaged or no one picks it up..grrrrrrr

Well, i too am in the same boat. Time is running out but am not receiving any final status. About 21 st May I mailed adcom at NBS and was told that I am on the reserve list. Now after calling/mailing two three times finally the adcom told me that they will let me know by the end of this week.

The problem is that in case one gets an admit time wld be too short to arrange for everything. finances and stuff...

evn i m awaiting the update on my application. its been a long wait.....

i have already missed the deadlines to join two colleges...

its more than 2 months for me now after the interview and ard 6.5 months after submitting the application!!!!!:neutral:....An amazing admission process!!!!!!!

the status still shows "application in progress " ...I also called up admissions office and found out that they are sending applications to the selection commitee in batches ...and it will take more time.
guess the classes will commence from 24,25th july for this session...

Hi Prash,

I think the premeditated tone is an interviewer speciality... I think they love keeping our emotions precariously balanced...so relax abt the interview. They usually say 7-10 days but get back a lot sooner over mail. I feel they just want to feel that you are what you claim to be on your essays and that you haven't somehow managed to outfox them :o) I wish you luck for the outcome....ATB.

I got a call(on ~5th April 07) from NBS and the person talked to me for ~15min (i think the same day when matt_abe got the call)
Qs like:

> why MBA as my profile looked like a hardcore technical person to them(dont know how ;D)

Then he told me about dual degree course with St. Gallen and asked me to drop him a mail in case i m interested otherwise will consider my application just for Technology Specilization and said Good luck!

I enquired about St Gallen univ. and the feedback from German ppl is excellent.
So i mailed him showing my interest in the Dual degree couse as well.

I recieved an Interaction call from St. Gallen Switzerland (MBA) today.
i m still doubtful about the dual degree MBA from NBS and St. Gallen and it's job prospects.
Can anyone comment on it? (may be Desert_pushover can say sth)
Has anyone else got any such call etc. from St Gallen .

Hi all, m new to this thread..I hav just finished my btech in ICT n mite write Gmat in a couple of months. I have heard that the placement scene is not very good at Nanyang when it comes to International students. Also plz guide me as to how Nanyang is when compared to Indian B schools say the IIMs..

guys i've been talking to Nanyang alumni..
i've recd very positive feedback..
inter alia i've learnt that NANYANG is more diverse in terms of nationalities.. with european , australian and other people..
while NUS is crammed with Indians...
i'm going abroad to gain an intl exposure ... and having the option of going on a double degree exchange to essec or st.gallen definitely makes it more attractive...
..some food for thought.. huh fellas...?
anyways ppl joining NTU put there hands up...lets team up and meet ...
and start chasing deals... and loans..and tickets? whatsay?

don't be disheartened..
2-4 weeks should be enough for the entire loan process..
Getting a visa will also be a cakewalk as NTU itself will get the visa done for u..
all u'll have to do is buy the ticket.. and that is manageable..
wait for the next 2 weeks..
have u applied elsewhere? do u have any other admits?

Hi,

I got a offer for NTU-Waseda dual MBa program in technology management. The fee for the program is high , although the duration of the progra is 1 yr, its at NTU only and 2 weeks at Japan.

But When I inquired from the current batch students they told me that most of the jobs in Big IT and technology gialnts in Singapoer are in Financial services, Marketing/Sales or conssulting, not in business management or tech jobs.

Job market is not as good as for ppl with secilization in Finanace ans Accounts. At the same time, Consultansies also recruit very few in technology managemnet. So by paying fee which is SGD 15000 more than the regular NTU MBA, still job prospects are not very good, I am in confusion whether to join or not.

well my interview questions were about my field.. power sector...issues pertaining to it... environmental issues etc...
Asia pac business and political scenario..
my ambitions post mba and my reasons for this choice..

he also asked me if i had any questions.. i asked the criteria for selection.. he said it was the overall package not just the GMAT score..

I also asked him the timeline for decisions .. he said 7-10 days..

I checked up with the mba office todayu and they said a decision on my appn will probably be made by Friday (i.e within two weeks).. I'd applied to NTU on Mar 30 and within a month they are in a position to make a decision.. whereas i've not heard a word from NUS even after 8 weeks from submitting the application.

btw.. i'm in the power sector .. managing the construction of power plants..

Or if St. Gallen is such a good univ. then why to go for dual degree, why not just 1 yr degree prog from St Gallen?

The double degree program with StGallen is a pretty good one. It is a very well-known university in Europe and will be really helpful if u r looking for a job in Europe. The only downside are the expenses, although u wont have to pay the tution fee for StGallen (just NBS)..the living expenses for a year could be a big dent...i think the expenses are around S$2500-3000 per month. If finance is not an issue, then I will suggest that you go ahead with the dual degree program...that way you will have an Asian degree as well as an European degree and will definitely be a boost for ur job prospects.
