Hi guys!
I just found this forum yesterday afternoon by chance while researching some stuff.
So glad to see that there is an online community of accepted MISI candidates!
I just got admitted to the program a few days ago! It seems that my application had been misplaced as it was supposed to be forwarded by the MIT SCM Program admissions office twice after been placed on the Waitlist, but never did After much thought I concluded that MIT's SCM Program in Malaysia will be a far better choice for me since I have already studied, worked, and lived in both the United States and Europe, whereas I haven't had the chance to do so in Asia. I believe that experiencing the region's way of doing business, together with MIT SCM Program's curriculum will be an extremely valuable experience and investment for my future.
For those of you interested, I just came back from an express visit in Malaysia (2,5 days!). I met most of the faculty and staff, visited the campus and teaching facilities (still under construction/renovation), checked on housing, explored the area, and did some sightseeing. I was really impressed with all faculty members and their excitement on the programs launch. Answering to some of your concerns, there are more than just 6 faculty members and they are still waiting for some more to join. The building is magnificent and they have made a huge investment on IT. There is also a golf shooting range and golf course just on its backyard! Regarding housing, I had done my own research before, but I believe the apartments they suggest are a far better choice. The area is nice. There are a lot of highways, so it is not easy to walk around. And the heat and humidity is dreadful (day AND night, all year round) so why should anyone want to walk around
I hope I didn't blabber too much.
Looking forwards to meeting you all in August!
Best Regards,
Carlos
