Nikhil is right, there is only one program being offered for september 2012, it will be a 12 months MBA, with internship (1 month) and exchange program. Of course scholarship will be granted for some people. They changed the program length in order to be more accurate, they make changes every 3 years. They will also accept more students, around 70 students for this Full time MBA. The official program will be released soon as it was already explained in this forum.

I'm David from Spain, Business Degree, worked in Spain, China, Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica in an engineering company. IELTS 7.5 and GMAT this March.

I know I'm a little bit late, but I want to apply for September 2012 intake. Do you think it will be possible, considering it's a rolling-admission process?

I read that the dates have changed, are you sure that there will be no 18 months programme any more?, or you can choose between 12 or 18 months?

I am originally from India but I have been living in Melbourne for 10+ years and work as a project manager in IT services. I applied in Oct 11 for Jan 12 intake - but due to the redesign of the course I will now be in the August 12 intake.

In addition to the internship, we also have optional exchange program and compulsory one-week trip for Business studies in Asia and one-week intensive leadership course. Also we have 26 subjects.

You can apply to January intake of MBS as you would have completed 2 years by the time you join.
Admission chances are dependent on your application. The stronger the application, the better.
MBS looks for managerial experience, so kindly reflect on that.

Just an update, the AUD 2000 is no longer being charged. Acceptance fee which now has to be paid will be adjusted against tuition. It will be 10% of tuition.

I have personally not heard of any books costs from current students till now.

Student Health insurance is approx. AUD 480 for one year.

Visa fee AUD 550.

Airfare and living expense are both subjective and location dependent.

Also, from this year approx 25% of the class will get scholarship depending on merit.

Take 20k AUD as a good enough budget for living expenses for an year. Add to that book costs, health insurance, air fare. That is a total of about 98k AUD or 105k USD at current exchange rate. But this is assuming you get 0 scholarship. A worst case estimate.....

Yes it will be a telephonic interview which will be very very relaxed.
Apart from the regular questions like why mba, why mbs and why now, you can prepare for questions like:

1 what are the advantages and disadvantages of working in a cross cultural environment?
2. What is the last book you read and will you recommend it to others?
3. Some experiences from your work or college life where you helped others.

Keep it simple and honest and you will be all good.

All the best.

In fact I would add another 3 months of living expenses as that is the minimum you would need to find a job post graduation. And I didn't even mention the visa fee yet. So we are talking some SERIOUS amount of money.
But then again, this is the amount you will have to shell out for any international MBA program.
So there's no escape...

Just to add what Coolalways said. MBS has interview as part of the application process so if u have submitted your application, you will have an interview and only after that will a decision be made on your candidature. So your application is not decision-ready till interview is done and getting an interview call does not reflect anything on your admission chances.

Funds you will need:
I think AUD75000 (tuition, still not final)+living expense, can vary between AUD16000-26000 depending on individual.

Well the school finally answered my email and said they will give me an answer this week (still waiting). I know they are busy but i sent my application early december and it's been more than 2 months ( instead of the 2 weeks we were told).
Some people who don't even care about the school get quick answer and other who cares don't, funny...

I hope the 18 months program won't be a 12 months in september, because I am really interested in internship.

The number of seats has been doubled if not more and the course is now for 12 months starting Sep 2012.
Also, the school has discontinued the January intake for full-time program.
