How did ur friends find the paper?? on an average how many questions did they attempt??

any projections internally hw much can be the cut off??

numericals and LR i attempted more hope they are correct. Read RC but i felt options were close and also none of the above option was also there so thought it was tricky so attempted only 2 . DI saw it in last 5 mins attempted i guess around 2 not sure. IQ no chance totally gone for a toss. attempted one that too doubtfull.

Hey... even i could attempt some 23 question overall... could have done a few more if time permits.. but I tried to be playing safe and did not touch ques where i had a doubt.

i dont know if attempting 50% ques only has any chances...

DI : 5( 1 might be wrong)
Logical : 0 (no time )
IQ : 3 ( hoping all to be correct)

i gave spjat today.The paper was not very tough but not easy also. time was a major factor.I also attempted only 4 gk since it had double negative marking

Thats something I'll like to throw some light on.
I gave SPJAT today. And same like you, i havent given either cat or GMAT earlier, Neither was i well prepared.
Here's how the question paper looked to me:

Diagramatic interpretation : Was of medium standard. You actually dont need much prep for this section. your indivisual logic and vision would help you get along.

Logic: Same of medium standard. But time contraint will definately increase the pressure.

Iq: This was something where the options were not present. you actually had to write the answer. Calender questions, series etc

Numercal : few were easy and few were tough for me. and keep looking your watch.

: was easy to understand. But all the options would seem to be correct for few question at first glance.

Finally Gk : This was disasterous. out of 14 i could attempt only 4. You must be a close follower of global news to answer them.

Overall the paper will definately utilize your brain to max (if not much prepared). And time contraint will keep mounting the pressure on you brain.

Diagrammatic interpretation questions questions can be tackeled with simple logical analysis....some questions are of type pattern recognision....say some figure is rotated abt different angle...this type of question u'll get in the net....not very tough

Few DI questions wil be there..but mainly quant question are from arithmatic.....most of them of moderate difficulty...1 or 2 will be tough....try to maximize ur score in this scetion..

Suggest u to go through the question paper once....note the differential markings....decide stategy to maximize ur score.....accuracy is very important...it is unlikely to attempt all the 40-45 questions in 1 hr....so try to attempt atleast 35-38 of them with high accuracy...

Any updates for the result date ?

As pradoshhs said, the test was indeed easy very as compared to cat. (especially the Numeracy Section)

Even I took the Test yest, wasn't expecting alot of response but was shocked to see around 50-70 Candidates turn up at the Center (Mumbai).

Apart from level of difficulty, I think the negative marking pattern amused me.
I was expecting the Usual 0.25 or 0.33 negative marking system.
While out of 5, 4 sections had negative marking of 0.25 & 0.33..the negative marking system for the GK Section (16 Q out of 46Q) was a shocker - it had double negative marking i.e. Right +1 Wrong -2 ( And hence I attempted only 2)

Also, the weight-age for each section was different.
The following was the pattern:
Diagrammatic Interpretation - C +2 W -0.5 (0.25) - Marks: 7 x 2 = 14
Logic - C +3 W -1 (0.33) - Marks: 5 x 3 = 15
IQ - C +2 W -0.5 (0.25) - Marks: 5 x 2 = 10
Numeracy - C +3 W -1 (0.33) - Marks: 10 x 3 = 30
RC - C +3 W -1 (0.33) - Marks: 5 x 3 = 15
GK - C +1 W-2 (2.00) - Marks: 16 x 1 = 16
Total Questions - 46 &Total; Marks - 100

I hope I've cracked this one.:grin::biggrin:
PS - I think SP Jain is going to call maximum number of students for the evaluation stage, to generate Rs. 2,500 per Student

Lets hope for the best till the results are out ! :):):)

The test was very easy. If you have seriously and thoroughly prepared for CAT then the test will be a cakewalk.
The following sections were present in the paper
1. Diagrammatic interpretation - Pattern based puzzles were asked. (Intensive practice is required for this section.)

2. Logical reasoning - Linear sequence arrangement.( Arun Sharma)

3. Quant - Not as challenging as CAT. (Arun Sharma)

4. RC- One passage.

5. IQ based questions. Messed up part of this section is, that there are no options for the answers and you have to write them separately. Questions were based on blood relations and calender days.
One of the questions was -

How many words can you make from the word STALER (including all the letters).

I was able to make 2 in the limited time.

6. GK - Best website to study this part - Pagalguy.
I answered many questions in GK because I had gone through the GK forum.

Overall, I think I have cracked it! Lets hope for the best!!
