LDP team does not contact you until you get an admit. Your first communication with LDP team would be around late feb or early Mar. LDP team would expect to collect this information before last week of March. The schedule may change slightly but would be roughly same.

Secondly, can you please tell me more about Experiential Learning Programme? Can anybody apply to it or is there any kind of cut off? What kind of companies do we go to? What kind of work is done? etc.
ELPs are live projects that come to ISB from corporate. the companies include the whos who of almost all industries. I cannot name them on this forum for obvious reasons.
Most of the times the kind of work is consulting in nature.
all the students are allowed to apply to all the projects that come on campus. you usually apply in teams and then there is selection procedure based on profiles and interviews. so No cut off.

- Was part of Core team(Documentation) in College Cultural festivals
- Presented a paper in a conference.

Professional achievements:
- Got a few awards in last 3 years for a good performance in my team.
- Handled almost all my projects as a single handed person and that too for critical modules.

I had a question for the current/recent ISB students.

Can you please highlight any specific courses/clubs/initiatives at ISB that focus on IT product management?

I read in some blogs that there used to be an elective called New Product Development and Pricing by Prof. Manish Gangwar but the current list of electives only mentions a course called Pricing. I am not sure if the course has been renamed.

You should also include how will you contribute to the student pool at ISB.

I will agree with your friends. This is how I see this essay.
1. What you want in 3 years - a simple paragraph of one or two lines. This will be opening line to your essay.
2. Past experience which shows that you already have a foundation. This tells that your future goals compliment your current profile thus justifying your future goals.
3. Now as with every goal there are some gaps. Tell how ISB education will help you and how exactly you will achieve them.
4. End with a small para if possible otherwise OK.

This gives a flow from past to present to future.

EDIT: In the point 3 you can explain further about your goals.

Look at the bright side, one gets to have international experience whether though physically being outside home country or through interactions with clients and onsite teams. One gets to work with companies with reputations throughout the world and watch closely how organizations operate in international arena.
One gets to participate in lots of organizational activities.

Whether you want to apply with 670 score or not is totally up to you. There has been no indication in past that will indicate that R2 is more competitive than R1. Statistically there is no difference between 2 rounds.

With all due respect to "thisguy" (you are doing a gr8 job on this forum dude), my opinion on this is a little different.
I am a re-applicant and in my feedback I was advised to apply in R1 (Did not ask the reason as I myself was planning to apply in R1).

Why do people consider bein from IT pool to be a curse or as a disadvantage?

Someone rightly said, its all in the mind. If youa re ready to believe that your being in IT is a curse, then certainly you are making others believe so...including the AdCom.

If you do not respect what you do, you cannot expect AdCom to do so....or for that matter don't expect anyone to do so.

I have been working for close to 3.5 yrs in IT...and when I see the job profles of some of my friends, I can proudly say that I am doing much better...and that I could have been doing much worse.....

For that matter...ask someone working in telecom, you will know when you will get a call at 3 AM to look after a site that is down, or ask someone working in a call centre...or ask someone working on a floor in a small mechanical company...

NOM to people working in such industries....I am not undermining their jobs...My point is that there are much harder ways up the ladder....we at IT are in much better position....

Its upto a person how he makes most of the environment he is working in. Whether he frets about where he is working or he actually does something to make that workplace better.

I scored a 590 on GMAT.
But still I am shamefully asking, is it worth giving it a try.

Working with client facing roles is not a big deal with 5 years experience. With 590 you should try this year only if you think you have excellent profile and can present to admissions committee that you can add a lot to the diversity of class. There is a lot of competition in IT pool with great GMAT scores, so you will have to convince adcom thoroughly that you can make a difference in class profile. If you can do that then please go ahead.

I know you have already said that you have average profile but I wanted to present an alternative to you. Look at ways if you can present your profile differently. May be you can explain your not-so-good GMAT score and compare it with good acads in 3rd essay.

If you feel that is not possible then the only option you will be left with is to reappear in GMAT.

If you apply this year and are not accpeted then you can avail feedback services from ISB and then you will have a clearer idea how much your GMAT score has played a role in reject.

I want to do MBA(from ISB) for switching my career to Management Consulting.I have got exposure to principles of consulting in my current job profile,but I want to get deeper understanding and skills in this area.

Puys who are from IT background and want to switch their career in Consulting, what reasons you will give to adcom for that?

adips, there is no general approach to this. IT is a vast industry - you could be performing any function within it. Your career goals essay should stem from :
1. what you have done in the past 5 years &
2. what you want to do going ahead.
3. how wil ISB help you get there?

In your case, you have already had some exposure to consulting, so you have a reasonable arguement that you have seen it from the periphery, now you want to get inside it. You should talk to some people in the consulting industry and find out what chart your career can follow with your background.

Finally, a lot of applicants want to move over to consulting from IT, so you have tough competition. You would have to ensure that your career goals essay is solid with clear cut objectives.

They grilled me quite a bit on my achievement related question .... don't know what they really expected ...?

Why u r back .... i told that last year i had idea abut what functional area i would like to work in but maybe was not very clear baout roles and industry ... told them went back and tried to identify the same and thus back this year....

I think yesterday most of us were reapplicant ...

Rest of the interview ws ok ... got a mixed feeling .....:splat:

a pdf photograph ? what is the size of photograph ?

Photograph has to be scanned in Colour PDF; Passport Size in 200 / 300 dpi resolution. Do not use a photograph that covers up to your waist. Make sure that your face covers larger part of the photograph. The photograph has to be a formal/professional one, preferably in a jacket, since this photograph will be used for the Identity Card and several purposes of documentation while you are on campus.

Some Basic Instructions:
PHOTOGRAPH

1. Scan Photograph in Passport size, Colour, PDF in 200 or 300 dpi
   
2. Print the scanned document/s and see if the document you are uploading is complete and legible.
   
3. You will not be able to see any of these documents when you click "preview application". However, you will be able to see them in a pdf format, once you have finally submitted your application.
   

It clearly says to scan passport size photo. Take your photograph to any scanning shop. They will know what to do.

The feedback I mentioned was after the results were out and only for rejects. This happens sometime in April/May. It has started from last year only.
