A friend of mine who is an aspirant for ISB , is having his GMAT tomorrow scheduled at 10 AM here in Kolkata . Need urgent help , as this guy is not having passport but all other docs he will be carrying . He is also not from a very wealthy background that he can afford to take the test again ..... Oh! this also happens that even if you have chosen Delhi as i/v location you could be called to other i/v locations :shocked:. I have chosen Delhi as i/v location and I am from Jaipur & I am already tensed due to Diwali rush every mode of transport is already packed. By the way anyone from Jaipur apart from me?

I understand that interviews are staggered for ISB, however early interviews are only happening in hyderabad.
So for R2 if I apply by 31 Oct and chose Delhi as interview location, how the interview calls be given ?

1. Will adcom decide for interview call for all candidates who apply by 31 oct at once or only who chose hyd as interview location ?
2. If it is all at once & i am called, i will have to come to hyderabad for interview or i will have to wait till the interview happens in Delhi?

Hey everyone
My first post, but am an avid spectator on PG.
My profile - Mech engg, Investment banking + parallel start up, 2 years 10 months, 720 GMAT.
I am from Bombay, got interviewed in Hyderabad last Satruday. 8th October. Application number 1313**
Here goes my interview experience. There were three people in my panel, 2 alums and 1 adcom. Overall it lasted for 30-35 mins:

1. General walk-through of profile
   
2. Time management of various activities (am a freelance writer also)
   
3. Grilled a lot on my work, exactly what i do, few deals i had worked on, finance concepts, conflicts and challenges faced etc (roughly 15 mins)
   
4. 5 min questions around my start up
   
5. 5 mins on hobbies (questions on Stanley Kubrick, written him as my favorite director)
   
6. Hardly 5 mins on my future goal, which is really stinging me. My future goal is entrepreneurship, on which i expected some grilling and had a lot of stuff prepared! Something to be worried about?
   
7. Finally, any questions
   
8. No why MBA, why ISB etc. Don't know how to perceive this
   

Key takeways

1. Its a very chill and cool interview. More of a discussion and they just intend to know you, rather than grill you. So, dont get nervous or fret about this aspect too much. Be yourself.
   
2. Regarding work related questions, just answer what you do rather than what the firm or team does etc. Make it very clear.
   
3. All questions from your profile only, nothing outside
   
4. IMPORTANT: If there is anything important you plan to say or convey in the interview, just say it in between somehow. Don't wait for them to cross-question you or delve deeper into something. Just link it to your current answer it say it, don't wait!
   

And yeah, the word for the essay was 'wolf'.

Just to clarify. I am just an applicant as you are... Just wanted to share some exp. I had during my interactions with MBA folks (ISB/Abroad).

Profile gud.. definitely go ahead..

Regarding achievements, It does not matter whether its a prima, rnr, pat on back or absolutely no award. What matters is what was your contribution, what did you learn from it.. what qualities did you showcase/you realised you were gud at.

Try bring out those things.
