guys any idea about the placement for the guy in the last batch that has finished ?

Technically, I am not a senior yet, but since question raised by you is factual in nature, I think it is safe to respond : EPGP is a full time residential programme, and nearly every company on mother earth, which needs management graduates at experience level, recognize it. Further, minimum exp required for this course is 7+ years.

I would like to know where an IT guy with 2+ years of work Ex stands after completion of this course? And also many companies do not recognize part time degrees. So is EPGP actually worth for a 2 years exp candidate to take up?

Hi to all those who read and who will read this post, I am writing this post after a long time........had this in my mind from sometime though..
Firstly thanks to all those people who wrote about the EPGP programmee of IIMB regarding the recruitment scene and all......
Secondly thanks to the people of IIMB who were moderating and answering these threads....

BTW I am currently a student of Batch 5, thanks to the people who gave inputs about the programme. I really gave it a thought before plunging in.

I spoke to people who are alumni of ISB, IIM A, Insead and ISB. But name the school and everywhere there is a set that does not agree it is great.......Even from an Insead Alum I was told to have realistic expectations in terms of Placements.....
About IIMB in the short journey till now that I have had, I can say that the seniors-EPGP batch 4 have been very supportive.....they have really put in a lot to give to the programme.......
I will quote the advice that i got from an alum of IIM_B(EPGP 3)" yaar, there is no point in waiting for a year,,,,,placement scene is +/- in every B school, IIM B has wonderful faculty and the experience it gives is awesome, were I in your place I would go for it"

I would say that the students who told about the recruitment scene persuaded me to tap my contacts and dive a little deeper before taking the final call.......This helped me to support my decision and clear the fog........
Only advice that I have for people applying or will apply.....just give it a sincere thought why u want to do an MBA and does it matter..........
I have partly found my answer and am going ahead with this programmee.
Leaving a job and moving out to study has its risks......but I am willing to take it....
So to all of u out there Just make a calculated decision......( worst part is nobody can tell u whats calculated).....................

hi, does IIMB EPGP put a constraint on when somebody has taken GMAT.. I am planning for co 2014-2015 but and my score is valid till Dec 2013. Do I qualify with this score or I will have to take GMAT again? Thanks.

More than quality of students I am more concerned about amateurish attitude anf thinking of 10+ yeras exp guys joining these programs. People crib about the program only from placement angle, when they dont get good placement they blame programs, which I very silly. The insitutue, infrastrucutre, faculty etc is same for both 1 yr and 2 yr so how come course suddenly becomes bad. Students should focus mor on learning and improving themselves, its a competitive market and if you preppare and market yourself well companies will automatically come behind you. Focus should be on proving that yes its a premier school product and the other way around that I am from premeir school so please hire me.
As far as quality is concened that I beleive will defintiely improve as the programs matures since the institutes/faculty are still learning and evaluating what kind of candidates and best fit for this type of programs. And also as student becomes mature, more prepared and able to sell them than quality will also improve due to brand pull. Quality in pgp is also not so uniform as chennaichess pointed out as more than 50% seats are reserved and rest are like any typical class mix.

Guys, we all have to be clear that nothing is perfect in this world. This goes for the selection procedures also. There will always be a few admits who should not be in such good programs & a few who should have been in the program.

Just because u find a few chaps who YOU think are not good enough, does not dilute the standard of such courses whether a PGP or EPGP or whatever.Frankly, the student standards at such 1 yr MBAs from IIMs with GMAT 700+ and interview filtering cannot be bad.

Also comparing with a PGP is illogical. PGP has a different profile of students. They start the corporate ladder very early and thus many years at their disposal to blossom while the 1yr chaps come from a middle management back ground and they are normally conservative and prefer to go back to their same industry. It will take 10-20 years before these guys reach the top echleon of corporate heirarchy and then the impact would start flowing in.

Believe me, there are many "not-so-good" characters in PGP as well. But the sheer size of the students passing out is so large that even a small % of super successful ones, uplift the name of the course.

As regards the International immersion, I also do not anticipate a g8 impact interms of placements but this would definitely add to the gyan. Besides, y r v linking the efficacy of a program or event only with placements. There is more to a MBA than just immediate placements. Placements would happen automatically. The professors are not expected to bring the company to select their students. How can any ene expect a professor to do so ?. Placement needs to be essentially a self driven activity as you know your industry more than anybody else. with the gyan u have garnered in this 1 year, brand name of IIM and with the knowledge about the industry and the companies, I think u will be in the best position to approach the relevant co.s and market yourself.

These are purely my views and a healthy discussion on this is welcome. Just to clarify, I am NOT from EPGP.

@mausam.deb You should receive material for accounting course later. If you find probability and statistics difficult, you may want to brush up some concepts. Google on 'statistics 101' and you will find tons of PDF files. Go through them, if you want to. Rest is chill! Do not overdo anything as you will lose the fun of late night studying here :)

Guys, I am a current EPGP student of batch IV. I met some of you in the EPGP Alum meet. Wanted to share a link with you about Microeconomics. If you have time, go through them before the course starts. I did not go through them before coming on board and I think it would have definitely helped. @topmbaseeker Called up IIM B yesterday... they have cleared the WL 15..As per the admission office person ...People with waitlist greater than 15 still have chance as the next WL movement will be known after 22nd December.

how many have rejected IIMB's admit ? how many WLs got a call ?
