I believe you have a very strong chance of making it to the final list, given your vast experience in "diverse" fields. Acads and GMAT score are quite good too. So do give your best shot in the application.
Kind request to all prospective applicants - It would be nice if you could refrain from asking what your chances of getting selected are; Not that we would not want to respond, simply because our responses could cloud your own personal judgement and nobody from the student community can really comment on the selection process.

Please find attached last year's brochure for time being, which has information on the course structure, electives, list of faculty etc. They still hold good to a large extent, except for items like fees, eligibility et all. Meanwhile, we will check with the office on fixing few of the links on the website.
We just returned from our International Immersion to South Korea, for which we need to submit our individual and group reports. Also adding to the workload is the process of finalizing our electives for the next term. So please do bear with the slight delays in our responses.
There is a collaborative blog on which we try to post as much as we can (given the work load), which probably could give you an insight into EPGP program.
I did both (Written in text box as well as attached it in section 13). I did not try option of doing either thing. Therefore, I did not see any errors. I will say attach your SOP in word format as well.

Hi, Did you attach the SOP in section 13 or written in the text box in section 11? I have written in the textbox. But while trying to submit, it is throwing error 'Attchment missing'. Other than SOP, I have attached rest 3 attachments though. Any clue what is the error?

Hello all, I have just started following this forum and I have already read a lot of great information which is appreciated. Also, I had a few clarifications that are listed below regarding the application and was hoping for some help regarding that: 1) The remuneration currency in the work experience section provides only 2 options INR & USD. If I was withdrawing my salary in another currency (say Australian Dollar), should we convert the yearly amount into USD? I guess that is the obvious answer but just wondering if there was another option 2) I noticed a few comments on the forum about uploading notarized documents for the degree certificate. However, I did not see that on the application instructions. I have currently uploaded a regular scanned copy but wanted to check if I am missing something 3) Statement of Purpose The editor limits the number of characters to 3500 whereas we are allowed to upload a 2 page PDF version which can easily exceed the limit. Is it ok to use the PDF version with over 5000 characters (within 2 pages)? 4) Awards & Publication I do not have any significant awards or publications that I could write about so I am planning to put in a single word None for these in the Additional information section. Could this have any negative repercussions? Appreciate all the help. Thanks!
i also faced a similar problem...if u have entered data then mark it as no..else mark it as yes also mark the last semester as final..after this there was no error message
I am facing an strange issue when adding Academic Score (Bachelor Degree). There is a question 'mark for delete?' Options are 'None/No/Yes'. what we supposed to enter here. I entered all the details and clicked Save. Details got saved but same questions got copied on the same page with blank values. Effectively I have two frames; one set has values that I entered. Another one has blank values. Now I am not able to save as error message is displayed: fill mandatory fields. Status of page is incomplete. How to proceed!

Hello Friends, Do they take someone who has been in as a software engineer only and no leadership experience whatsoever. Do they take mostly those who are in middle managment already?
Leadership is not necessarily related to leading a team. Even within your software engineering career you might have done some thing excellent, filled a patent, developed unique algorithm etc, which can show that you were different from others.
Moreover, sports and extra curricular are other places, where you can show your leadership qualities.
If required, you might take example even from your personal life.

Puys/Ex or Current Student of EPGP, I will have 6 years and 9 months of experience by Mar 31, 2010. According to eligibility criteria, min experience is 7 years. Is it strictly no for any body with experience less than 7 years? Please clarify this whether I will get outright rejected just due to this. Thanks
Jon10,
The best people to clarify this are the Adcom staff in IIMB. Please speak to them before you proceed.

I have been reading up on IIMB as well as preparing the application. The IIMB EPGP website itself gives very limited information.
Can you tell us what, according to you, are the things IIMB expects from its candidates for this program?

Hi AMJ,
According to me, IIMB looks for the following
1 - Good academic record and GMAT score: which is an indicator that the candidate can take the rigour that IIMB puts us through in EPGP.
2 - Professional background: I have seen that people from unique background like entrepreneurship / Defense Services / NGOs / Medicine etc are given preference. Of course the run of the mill profiles like IT / Finance etc should have had an excellent track record which will be supported by the recommendations.
3 - Candidates intent behind pursuing EPGP: which you should indicate in the SOP. Accroding to me the SOP is very very important.
The above are my personal opinion based on my own experience.
Obviously the institute will be having its own set of criteria which is confidential. I also know that the Adcom keeps revising the criteria based on their experience with each batch.

Hi Saurabh, GMAT is not the only criteria on which IIMB shortlists the candidates for interview. If the profile of the candidate is very good, he or she may get shortlisted even with a below average GMAT.

I suggest you focus on your SOP as it is the only place when you can give the right flavour to your application.

I have one question regarding EPGP admissions. How important is GMAT score for overall chances to admission process? Here is my profile: GMAT Score - 710 (50, 34). 5.5 XII - 81% Engineering - 71% EC - Decent 8 years in IT services 3.5 years in US with two different clients

Here is my profile: GMAT Score - 710 (50, 34). 5.5 XII - 81% Engineering - 71% EC - Decent 8 years in IT services 3.5 years in US with two different clients CFA Level I
My question is - Should I take GMAT again? If it is really important for EPGP, I can take a chance and try to improve my score before Sep 30. More specifically: 1. Whether GMAT is used as shortlist criteria for interviews only? 2. Will I make it to shortlisted candidates given that I am part of competitive IT services group? 3. If the answers to question 2 is yes, will improving the score improve my chances of making to the class of EPGP 2012?
you have to ask that question to adcom and see what they come back with. I don't see them doing this as it means it's unfair to the others who are following the given process. I understand that the current process means less time for the applicants whereas in all other business schools the recommenders can work in parallel while you are still filling in the application. As I said before it's a really weird way of doing things! Also note that they are looking for previous managers as your references. In most business schools they are okay with giving either peers or customers as references.
Got the response from adcom. it says "The Letter of Reference is automated and cannot be sent separately"

We have just concluded our international immersion program in Korea. Some of us have taken a leisure break at Hong Kong while others have gone back to Bangalore or their home towns. We have a relatively light week ahead of us.
I was suggesting an information session in some of the cities where our students are visiting their native places.
I could get EPGP students accessible in Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore (dont know about Delhi and Calcutta) for the week of 1-4 Sept. I could work to get the Bangalore guys visit the campus.
If you guys are interested in meeting us to know more about the program, please let me know. The sessions are *not* sponsored or blessed by the institute. I expect would be held in some coffee shop setting. Please be considerate about the timings and preferences. It all depends on the volunteers availability.
Based on your interest levels I could nominate volunteers for these cities.
I have created a google docs spreadsheet. if you can add your details it would be great.
Guys, I am a current student and am available in Hyderabad till Saturday. I can meet some of you who are interested in applying to this program for next year. Call me on +91-9591970803 and we can talk. I would rather prefer to meet all of you who are interested so that everybody gets benefited...

if somebody can share the questions asked to recommender or if the adcom can sent an email to recommender before app submission, then the problem can be resolved. is it possible?

When is the last date when the recommendations should reach IIM-B?
If the recommendation form reaches my references only after i submit the application and if I submit the application on 30th Sept, how much time do the references have to submit the recommendations.
Is there no way that the rocommendation form reaches the references early so that they also have ample time to work on them.
@Trapezio Yes references should be submitted before the 30_sep deadline. So you need to submit your part of the application as soon as possible so that you can give your references more time to submit their part. it's a weird system. @Target11 you can either fill in the SOP in the Additi...

@Target11 you can either fill in the SOP in the Additional Information & Declarations or you can upload the PDF. If you observe closely you will find that the SOP has not been marked as a mandatory item in the Additional Information & Declarations section. Personally I prefer the PDF option as you can put in some formatting when you are uploading in that format.
Guys, I have a doubt here. The reference contacts will not be contacted till we submit the application right? Does that mean that references also should be submitted by the evaluators before the deadline 30th Sept?

I expect would be held in some coffee shop setting. Please be considerate about the timings and preferences. It all depends on the volunteers availability.
Based on your interest levels I could nominate volunteers for these cities.
I have created a google docs spreadsheet. if you can add your details it would be great.
