I am aiming for 2011 session, which starts in Sept 2011. My profile is as below:

10th: 93% (ICSE)
12th: 86.4% (CBSE)
B.Tech: 73.5% (1st div with distinction)
GMAT: 710

I will complete 5 years in May this year. Have worked in Accenture & now in IBM. Average co-curricular activities:

1. Head organizer La fiesta, 2003- A university fest
   
2. Head organizer La fiesta, 2004- A university fest
   
3. Certification in French
   
4. Organized a couple of events in my company (have a couple of certificates)
   
5. Member of Red cross
   

I don't want to sound sexist, but does being a female give an advantage (to maintain their so-talked-about gender diversity ratio?)

Any comments on y chances to get thru?

After completing my B.Tech I had joined as Graduate Trainee Engr. from Aug 2006 to Nov.2007 (1yrs and 3 months) and then i got Permanent As Asst Mgr in Nov. 2007 and working there still now. Do the work experience as Graduate Trainee is considered in Work experience

the I/V letter says " Even if ur interviews are scheduled in the morning be prepared to stay till late evening" --

Does that mean that there might be any GD/further interview rounds Post interview OR its simply to make candidates aware about time it may take to verify certificates/xerox copies of the same (logistic issues) ?

My interview is at 9 am in morning so wonderinghow does it apply to me

Dear Srini,

This is just to ensure your availability for the day. In general, your interview will happen between 9 to 10.30, document verification by noon and you would be home for lunch. I do not foresee multiple rounds of interview or GD as a possibility.

Dear Mandar,

GMAT score is just one criteria out of many other that are looked into while selecting a candidate. Higher GMAT is always better though (same as saying more smart you are better Manger you will become). The avg GMAt score of our batch in 696.

About MBA is operations, please know that this is a General Management Program but you can always choose your electives to build your Operations expertise.

Lastly, everyone is considered fairly and be assured your application will be read "very well" despite of your GMAT score alone, and you would be evaluated on all the criteria for admission.

You can get full amount loan from SBI.
You should be eligible, but have to check it when the application is out to ensure exact 5 years before you join the program (depends on program kickoff date).

Your experience with the placements of IIM I EPGP students and the salary range and of course the kind of jobs offered will be very useful. Can you please update this post with the details?

Placements are happening on case by case basis. It is difficult to give you salary range as that is confidential..No college gives that data unless placements are over and we still have more than 2 months left in the program.

However, I can assure that it won't be less than any other IIM or ISB.

Your CAT percentile is on the lower side..however, CAT/GMAT percentile is not the only criteria for shortlisting.

Nevertheless, if you have something else in your cv which is different from most people in the crowd..that will sail you through. Also, I think, any non-IT experience has the advantage of the "diversity" factor in any Indian MBA.

This is very interesting question and very hard to answer. EPGP was launched for the first time last year, and there is nothing to compare than the existing batch. Which means, I am in the best position to tell you where this program ranks at.

Let me be very honest here, There are few good points about IIM Indore and few short comings as one should expect from a new course. But as of now, it is really hard to comment where we stand. We have just been keeping our heads in the books so far, and soon its gonna be placement time.

I dont say that placements can always give a clear picture of Institute, but they sure are one of the most important feature of Executive MBA course, where fee as well as opportunity cost is huge (will cross 30 Lacks for each of us). So, in short, how does the placement go will tell us where IIM Indore EPGP program stands.

We are optimistic, and I would suggest you to be optimistic too. Apply for the course if you are interested, and do ask this question one more time before you take the final call to join. I would be here to tell the real story of howz the placement going on and give my personal view if one should join IIM Indore or not, but right now, its too early to say anything negative. All izzz well... so far :)

Placements is picking up fast here at IIM I EPGP. Some of the top (I mean "the best of the lot") consulting firms, banks, IT companies, retailers etc. are in talks with the students.

For essays if I am using additional sheets, do I have to hand-write the essays on the additional sheets or would printed copies suffice?? Please let me know as there are no clear directions in the form.

Manish, you have a great profile, but seems getting a call is not your problem. Do some introspection Sir that why you couldnt covert earlier calls. ISB gives feedback (though usually pretty shitty :)). Sorry for unwarranted advice, though if your question is only about would you get an interview call from IIM Indore, I am positive that you would.

Dear Atul, There is no cut off score for CAT/GMAT. The selection purely depends on what you bring on the table. A well rounded profile with decent CAT score will do the trick. BTW, in current batch there are guys with CAT score around 97%ile (experience around 10 years). Hope this helps.

Dude, I have replied to this query multiple time. Yet again. Here is the deal. The placement process is still kicking off. The official start date is 2nd April. We also got our broacher ready for the same and have started contacting companies.

We are keeping our fingers crossed, and cant say how is it gonna go, but for what its worth, so far we have got around 10 companies lined up for interviews. ie, even before the placement season starts. So we are pretty much optimistic, yet cautious on this topic. But, But and But... I have said this before in this forum and will say it again, wait till Mid April or early May to get a clear picture on this.

For now, apply with full heart into it and go for interviews. You can take this call (Whether to join on not) around May first week when the placement data is out. You would find me around that time too to answer your queries.

Last year, I think everyone got a call (who applied and met the criteria). I think there were close to 200 interviews and 40 people got selected.

Dont expect them to send a confirmation You may have to call and confirm. But if you are short listed for interview, I am sure they will inform you.

My suggestion, dont worry about it right now. Just concentrate on your application. You can take care of it at the time of interview.

Yes, you are eligible. Can not comment on chances though. You have relatively less score as well as work ex. You have to work really hard to differentiate yourself from other candidates as you are almost on the minimum requirement on two important aspects of the application. You can achieve this by concentrating on unique factors of your profile, and writing good answers/essays that show your maturity and capability.
