Ques 1 : Can the present students at GReat Lakes tell the following about the marketing companies and consulting companies (NON IT).

1.Companies that visit campus.
2. The profile offered by them.
3. The locations given like delhi etc.
4. The package offered.

Ques 2 : Can we do specialization in operations and marketing,
What I have read is great lakes provide specialization in IT and operations, can i separate IT from Operations,

Ques 3: What are the preferred locations given after plac. to Students

Hi Ganesh... During my interview session Eashwar sir told tht close to 220 are placed and avg is close to 10+... few question around tht:

1) are the remaining students placed?
2) is it difficult for commerce grads to find a placement in GLIM?
3) Any commerce or a non IT guy got placed for IT Consulting role.
4) minimum package for this year's batch or 2011 batch.

1) Not yet. There are many companies that are yet to come, hopefully we will see 100% placement this time as well.
2) Not really.
3) Too much data mining Not that am aware of but don't worry about it.
4) Not sure about the exact package but it would be around 8-9 Lakhs.

In the application we had an option for assistance of GL in getting the loan from indian bank. But now in the mail it is mentioned like We need to pay the total fees on or before april 6th 2012 i.e before we join GLIM.

Yes. Loans could be availed through these banks and they would be able to process the same before the due date.

I don't know where you got the information about the 11 Lakhs package. Anyways it is not relevant because your career/job would be dependent on yourself and the package is on a case to case basis. There will always be a range of salaries based on the kind of experience you carry, what you learn and how wisely do you leverage your B-school network.

Great Lakes believes in ranking that looks at the colleges on the basis of various parameters and not just perceptions. Many of the rankings today are based on students perceptions and this could be very wrong. With or without rankings, Great Lakes is improving in all ways possible.

You would be able to choose your specialization after the 1st 3 months. Yes you would be able to dual specializations.

There will always be a range of salaries based on the kind of experience you carry, what you learn and how wisely do you leverage your B-school network. So if you are going back to the same industry which you were in before your MBA then yes.
